Nice drive

Advantages: Easy setup, Reliable
Disadvantages: Perhaps a little noisey

...Nice product, got mine for £45 being a oem drive so no cabels were supplied etc .... It was easy to install format and partition with no problems, windows recognised the full size straight away, Jumper setting guide is on the drive an easy to follow, I use mine as my second drive with windows being installed on another but im always swapping files to and from drives and all my downloads go to the Hitachi and so far no errors, corruptions or anything of the sort, Speed seems reasonable transfers a 5Gb movie in about 2 mins with other things going on in the background all in all it seems very reliable the only complaint i would have is it does tend to get a little noisey at times but only a little and not as loud as my maxtor...

The wonders of the Hitachi Deskstar

Advantages: Reliable, Quick, Quite, Good value for money
Disadvantages: Not a very high capasity

...If you are looking for an 80 GB hard disk for your PC, you have found the one to buy! I have been using 2 of these Hitachi Deskstar's in my PC for a long time now. I have had no problems with them. For the price you pay to buy one, you are getting cheap and reliable hard disk, witch has a good capacity to price ratio (around 2GB per pound). I would recommend this hard disk to anyone whom it is making up a new computer, or just needs more storage space. This hard disk is probable one of the quickest disks I have used, its read speed is good, but I must say, the SATA (serial ATA) version is about twice as quick, but for them that don't intend to go down the path of SATA Can just stick with the ATA-100 version (or IDE as it is more commonly known). Instillation of this disk is like every other hard disk on this planet, if you know...

HItachi Customer Services

Advantages: Definately none
Disadvantages: No reimbursement

...We purchased a Hitachi 28" Pure Flat Screen TV in the January 2003 sales. A bargain reduced from £600 to £389. Unfortunately by February 2004 we had a problem with it. A grey screen with wavey diagonal lines and it kept turning itself off after about 5 seconds. Anyway - stupid like we didnt take the extended guarantee - which i would advise everyone to do - if you can afford it obviously. The TV was taken away by a local engineer and basically needed some extensive welding and it cost us £170 and we were left without the TV for 3 weeks. Well we werent happy as you can imagine so we tried to contact Hitachi. We telephoned our local Miller Brothers store who supplied it and they only had a fax number for Hitachi - nothing else !!! So I searched the web and found a few addresses and forward the original reciept...

Huge storage and cheap price

Advantages: Big storage, quite quiet
Disadvantages: None after 1 month of use

...I bought this drive to replace my old 250gb western digital and 320gb samsung hard drives. I chose this Hitachi drive as at the time it was the best value drive I could find, and for the £58 I paid (from a company called overclockers) it offered a massive amount of storage at 1TB. So far I've been using it for a month and no problems to report yet. It isn't the quietest drive I've used, but it is certainly by no means a noisy drive and also seems to have nice quick access times compared to my older SATA drives. Im using it as my only drive, with windows on a separate partition and all my other documents and programs on the remainder of the drive. The boot up time for windows seems quick at the moment, however i am sure with time it will slow down as all drives do when they get full of user files and related junk! As far as...

Scoring a Hit-achi With The Scullery Maid

Advantages: Very neat - seemingly a lot of kit for the money
Disadvantages: Noisy FM in weak reception areas. Choosy CD player

...Just when I thought that I?d NEVER think of anything else to write about, being ?challenged-out?, having used all my ?any old c**p from A-Z? options and not a new gadget in sight, there comes a howl from the galley slave. ?This bloody ghetto blaster in the kitchen?s never played CDs properly ? can WE do something about it?? I like the ?we?. Anyhow, some people are never satisfied - I paid good money for that, I?ll have you know ? it was all of £12! OK, so maybe ?ghetto blaster? is a bit of an exaggeration - this baby couldn?t blast the ?ghetto? of Legoland let alone Harlem. However, to keep her in the kitchen was obviously going to cost me a few sheckels more than £12 this time, so off I set, in search of a ?proper? mini hi-fi, possibly with separate speakers, and a decent FM section and CD player. If some kind person were...

Hitachi CX68 MP3/CD + Radio - Tough Little Beast

Advantages: Good tone quality, looks, reliability and functions
Disadvantages: no cassette player facility

...I wanted a portable CD player for my home-office desk, because I found that playing CDs on my computer whilst I was working seemed to use up memory and sometimes caused my computer to crash. I wanted one with a decent tone, but one that would not take up too much room on my desk. My birthday was coming up (last year), so that answered my wife's question of what to get me for a present. Off we went to Comets. When we arrived there were many CD players that would have suited me for around the £20 mark, but my wife pointed to the Hitachi CX68 saying how good looking it was with it's round, blue-lit window on the front that indicated radio stations or CD information, depending on what was being played. I noticed that it also played MP3s, and that I thought, would be great if I wanted to download music from the internet. I've never...

This Hitachi punches above its weight

Advantages: Smaller, lighter television, with the same picture size.
Disadvantages: You're not still watching TV are you!?

...In order to reduce the speed that my living room was sinking, beneath the mud that is my front garden, under the weight of my old 32" Mitsubishi CRT widescreen television. I decided it might be an idea to replace it with something a little lighter. To this end I chose the Hitachi L32H01, an HD-ready 720p/1080i 32" widescreen LCD panel. This model features both Freeview digital and analogue tuners that allowed me to use my old set top box with my SCART-enabled portable television in order to extend its life beyond the digital switchover. The built-in Freeview tuner is equipped with full red-button functionality for those interactive hidden programmes on various channels, as well as both now and next digital schedule that can be reviewed while still watching the current channel in the top right quarter of the screen and a 5-day...

Hitachi, well done fab camera.

Advantages: Good quality, cool features, allows DVD RAM disks.
Disadvantages: Sleep, is not very effective,It's bulky, & No Touch.

...The Hitachi DZ-GX5060E DVD Camcorder, this is a great quality camcorder that captures the footage on to 8mm (Mini) DVD disks. I decided to get this camera in Curry's, because: I didn't Want Mini DV tapes (I think their getting a little old now) I needed a good camera to take on holiday, and to make youtube videos outside. I'm going to set this review up in a few sections, Design, On screen Options, My Opinion, and Accessories. So, here it goes. DESIGN The design of this camera is quite sleek, although not that light or compact. It fits into my hand nicely, but could be a tad lighter. The colour of the camera is silver and Grey. On one side their is the 8mm Disk drive, which allows you to put in DVD R, RW and RAM Disks. So far I have been using TDK DVD+RW Disks. On the other side you have the screen, with pulls out, and can be...

Hitachi HDR161 - Very handy!

Advantages: Lots of room for recordings, tapes 2 shows at the same time, can pause live TV
Disadvantages: Your restricted to what you can receive through your aerial, no digital PDC alternative

...too much but im happy with that as I don't think I'll use it too much. Its a nice thing to have as a bit of a fallback incase the phone does go while im watching something interesting, of course!. You can edit settings like this through the menu button (then setup and recordings). It comes with a 7 day EPG (Electronic Programme Guide) and although there is no series link option, its pretty easy to search within the EPG. If you select a show to record, which is quick and easy to do by pressing the button with a red circle on it on the remote control (near the top), a window will pop up alerting you to when else during the week a show with the same name may be shown, so you could then find that and set that to record too (where/when this is applicable). This is useful if you want to catch all episodes shown during a week of a particular...
