...Being the proud owner of a DVD recorder with a hard drive, I felt that I would benefit from having a camcorder that recorded straight onto DVDs. Why, you might ask, would I want this? Well by recording straight onto a DVD I would be able to cut out a conversion in making my final DVDs.
With my last camcorder I had to play it into the recorder at real time, and the recording would go through a digital-analogue-digital conversion that would result in loss of quality. However, with a camcorder that records direct to DVD, I would be able to load it straight into the recorder, and "high speed dub", that is make a direct digital copy without any conversion, this should result in no loss of quality.

I like this camera
Advantages: Easy editing, very compact, DVD recording
Disadvantages: Takes several seconds to start filming.
...I have owned the Hitachi DZ MV350E for about six months and I love it. It is very easy to use, compact, and has a simple menu system so that you can view what you've taken immediately. You can edit the disc on the camera and so save disc space, You can even arrange your clips into playlists for an impressive quickly made movie. If you have a DVD drive on your computer you can put the disc straight into your computer and save your MPEG or JPG files without having to use the USB connection. I would recommend investing in DVD-RAM discs, you can record half an hour's footage per side, they are a bit expensive but you can use them over and over again which saves you money in the long run. ML270CDi - What a family car
Advantages: Driving Position, Reliability, Comfort, Service

...I am on my 3rd ML270CDi, the latest being an '03 with every toy imaginable......they are a simply excellent drive.
you have to bear in mind this is a "two ton truck" with a diesel engine, so rapid it is not - however - for a "two ton truck" it is surprisingly nippy and enjoyable to drive. If you make good use of the revs and hold gears, it will perform well. For fast standing starts I offer one tip, hold the brake hard, rev it hard to get the turbo at full pressure and the truck takes off with startling power.....Its only fault is that sometimes you want a quick start from lights or at a crossroads etc and the turbo takes a second or two to wind up!!
MPG is very reasonable at approx 34mpg on a run at 70mph, cruise at nearer 85-90 and it goes down fast (not the most areodynamic of vehicles in fairness) to approx 28-30mpg. Turn off...

HD 270
Advantages: Comfortable
Disadvantages: Sound quality is not amazing
...As a working DJ I've tried lots of different headphones with varying degrees of success. Sennheiser seems to be one of the most consistent manufacturers of decent quality headphones. The HD 270 is no exception.
Although not exactly cheap, I've learned that you often get what you pay for when it comes to audio equipment. The HD 270 fits snugly over my big head so anyone with a normal sized one should have no problems. The padded ear-pads cradle my delicate ears well and block out a fair bit of background noise. They are one of the more comfortable pairs of headphones I have used.
Sound quality wise, they are pretty good. Not the best, and for this price I would want to be amazed. The music sounds good if you are listening at home/work etc but I fear that if I were to use this in a work capacity, where performance needs to be that bit...

...We purchased a Hitachi 28" Pure Flat Screen TV in the January 2003 sales. A bargain reduced from £600 to £389.
Unfortunately by February 2004 we had a problem with it. A grey screen with wavey diagonal lines and it kept turning itself off after about 5 seconds.
Anyway - stupid like we didnt take the extended guarantee - which i would advise everyone to do - if you can afford it obviously.
The TV was taken away by a local engineer and basically needed some extensive welding and it cost us £170 and we were left without the TV for 3 weeks.
Well we werent happy as you can imagine so we tried to contact Hitachi.
We telephoned our local Miller Brothers store who supplied it and they only had a fax number for Hitachi - nothing else !!!
So I searched the web and found a few addresses and forward the original reciept...

Scoring a Hit-achi With The Scullery Maid
Advantages: Very neat - seemingly a lot of kit for the money
Disadvantages: Noisy FM in weak reception areas. Choosy CD player
...to throw in a remote control and make it come in at under £50, I?d only be too happy to take one off their hands.
So, after all the nasty things I?ve said about DSG (Dixons, Currys and PC World) in the past, this is where I end up, buying a Hitachi AX-M77 CD Micro System for £49.99. I have to say, that for something costing 50 knicker, I was only expecting to come home with something, shall we say, a bit more ?own brand?, a bit more ?Matsui? let?s say.
The purchase bit was easy ? they were piled five-high at the end of a display cabinet, and not even the Currys assistant in Hounslow would have dared say ??.and would you like an extended warr?..? at these prices, or at least, maybe the sales pep talk they?d just been given (I got there as they opened their doors) had been just too much to take on board all in one go. If you see one BUY IT
Advantages: Reasonable price, Solid and well made, excellent display, great service

Hitachi CX68 MP3/CD + Radio - Tough Little Beast
Advantages: Good tone quality, looks, reliability and functions
Disadvantages: no cassette player facility
...I wanted a portable CD player for my home-office desk, because I found that playing CDs on my computer whilst I was working seemed to use up memory and sometimes caused my computer to crash. I wanted one with a decent tone, but one that would not take up too much room on my desk. My birthday was coming up (last year), so that answered my wife's question of what to get me for a present. Off we went to Comets.
When we arrived there were many CD players that would have suited me for around the £20 mark, but my wife pointed to the Hitachi CX68 saying how good looking it was with it's round, blue-lit window on the front that indicated radio stations or CD information, depending on what was being played.
I noticed that it also played MP3s, and that I thought, would be great if I wanted to download music from the internet. I've never...
