...I Bought my Hitachi 42PD5200 from www.247electrical.co.uk for £2268.99 (With p+p) as i wanted the pay 12month later option. I had spent a long time looking around the net on various sites that review Plasma and as it had won a collection of awards i bought the hitachi. The tv is great looking and the picture is excellent quality when used with Dvd or Sky + though nowhere near as impressive using the standard ariel connected tv channels (Not sure if its as using a ariel extention or not) Sound quality is also brilliant nice crisp sounds and good bass with its srs trubass sound. The remote is nice looking designed though can get a little confusing as im new to it with all the buttons ! The tv has a built in tuner so all the connections are on the back of the tv there is only 1 Scart ! ,2 Component inputs, 2 Composite, 1 S-video, 4...

Now you already know why we bought a 42" screen. And you know why it was a Plasma rather than an LCD, but there's so much choice in the market these days - why did we buy the Hitachi 7200? First off, we bought it because it's capable of showing the new standard High Definition (HD) pictures. With a resolution of 1024 x 1024 and support (for those that want to know) for up to 1080i, it has enough pixels to do justice to any of the soon-to-be-broadcast signals. Our home cinema

Advantages: Great screen, attractive

...the telly trying to reach the curtain the screen when funny for a second. Not sure what to make of that to be honest. I presume no damage was done but I have to admit I've not seen that happen before, is it to do with Plasma screens? Still, we've not had many problems so far & it has otherwise maintained its functioning & physical appearance. Hitachi have not compromised quality for size. There are three options for the type of view you get - 'natural', 'dynamic' & 'cinema'. You can guess that natural has no enhancements & just looks like your average t.v., probably there for you to compare how great your t.v. is hehe. Dynamic is a tad on the bright side but it strengthens the colour - personally I don't like it. Cinema is not quite as bright but improves the colour & brightness as well as sharpening the view. An awesome viewing experience

Advantages: Sharp picture, excellent quality, lots of input choices
Disadvantages: Heavy, produces lots of heat, not compatible with PS2!

After all it was 5 inches bigger than my friends TV and I think the picture is even better. His is a Panasonic screen which is supposedly the best for its money but im not sold after seeing mine. ...We purchased a Hitachi 28" Pure Flat Screen TV in the January 2003 sales. A bargain reduced from £600 to £389. Unfortunately by February 2004 we had a problem with it. A grey screen with wavey diagonal lines and it kept turning itself off after about 5 seconds. Anyway - stupid like we didnt take the extended guarantee - which i would advise everyone to do - if you can afford it obviously. The TV was taken away by a local engineer and basically needed some extensive welding and it cost us £170 and we were left without the TV for 3 weeks. Well we werent happy as you can imagine so we tried to contact Hitachi. We telephoned our local Miller Brothers store who supplied it and they only had a fax number for Hitachi - nothing else !!! So I searched the web and found a few addresses and forward the original reciept...

TV with a difference?? Say goodbye to radiators!!

Advantages: Great picture
Disadvantages: It's a watchable radiator

...figure it out, it is impossible to link it up to the sky. I have ploughed through the instructions and have found no help on how to do this or found any indication what the problem might be. So for the time being I am left with the prospect of using two remote controls (I'll be expecting sympathy cards in the post please. lol) The sound on the TV is average nothing special but I have linked it up to my sound system and it is sounding great. Size does matter. I've got a 42" Wounder.

Advantages: huge 42" display, amazing picture quality, superb surround sound, easy to set up, widely available
Disadvantages: price, weight

...I have been in possession of my Hitachi 42PD9700 now for 6 months after paying just short of £1600 for it from Dixons. If I didn't consider it to be one of the best purchases of my life I would now be saddened by the fact that only 6 months on it can be bought from the same store for only £1400 and even cheaper online for £1361. The Hitachi 42PD9700 provides 42 inches of plasma viewing pleasure that I didn't even know existed. Coated in black the TV is a flatscreen, this is why I opted for it, as the cheaper rear projection versions of similar brands were too cumbersome and frankly took up far to much space and would have dominated my living room. The 42PD9700 doesn't do this. It is big and the screen does take up a large part of the room, but it sits snugly on its stand pretty much flat to the wall. Included within the HD ready TV...
