...We purchased a Hitachi 28" Pure Flat Screen TV in the January 2003 sales. A bargain reduced from £600 to £389. Unfortunately by February 2004 we had a problem with it. A grey screen with wavey diagonal lines and it kept turning itself off after about 5 seconds. Anyway - stupid like we didnt take the extended guarantee - which i would advise everyone to do - if you can afford it obviously. The TV was taken away by a local engineer and basically needed some extensive welding and it cost us £170 and we were left without the TV for 3 weeks. Well we werent happy as you can imagine so we tried to contact Hitachi. We telephoned our local Miller Brothers store who supplied it and they only had a fax number for Hitachi - nothing else !!! So I searched the web and found a few addresses and forward the original reciept...

Scoring a Hit-achi With The Scullery Maid

Advantages: Very neat - seemingly a lot of kit for the money
Disadvantages: Noisy FM in weak reception areas. Choosy CD player

Hitachi, well done fab camera.

Advantages: Good quality, cool features, allows DVD RAM disks.

The Techinical description of this television in the Argos catalogue is Bush LCD27TV005 27in Widescreen LCD TV. The Argos order number is: 529/2150 and we paid £399.99. ...The Hitachi L37V01 HD LCD TV is a full High Definition television. That means it can display in 720p, 1080i and 1080p modes, unlike a lot of 'HD Ready' TVs on the market which only manage 720p. This means that you get a crisper image from devices which support these resolutions, such as the Xbox 360. I saw this TV on Amazon for under £500, and thought it looked like an excellent deal.
