Reviews of hitachi plasma
Is Bigger Better??
Review of Hitachi 55 PD 5200 by
Torrence
Advantages: Ditachable Speakers, large screen
Disadvantages: weighs 13st
...also not very easy to wall mount as are the smaller sets however if your house is big enough to house one i'm sure you have space without mounting it on the wall.
Its HD (high definition) ready, ready for events such as the world cup and the picture on HD is simply mindblowing.
I personally prefer LCD screens over Plasma but as LCD is very pixelated in sizes over 37" (except sony's 40" LCD that i've seen) i'd definitely go for this set if i wanted to go for a bigger size.
Hitachi reassure customers that you wont get screen burn on this set as it takes around 28 hours to get screen burn which will fade once another program/film is viewed and any effect that is there will be unseen within a couple of hours.
There is little to no ghosting on the screen from any angle which is great for a plasma.
In conclusion a great value for money home...

Size does matter. I've got a 42" Wounder.
Review of Hitachi 42PD9700 by
tristangodfrey
Advantages: huge 42" display, amazing picture quality, superb surround sound, easy to set up, widely available
Disadvantages: price, weight
...I have been in possession of my Hitachi 42PD9700 now for 6 months after paying just short of £1600 for it from Dixons. If I didn't consider it to be one of the best purchases of my life I would now be saddened by the fact that only 6 months on it can be bought from the same store for only £1400 and even cheaper online for £1361.
The Hitachi 42PD9700 provides 42 inches of plasma viewing pleasure that I didn't even know existed. Coated in black the TV is a flatscreen, this is why I opted for it, as the cheaper rear projection versions of similar brands were too cumbersome and frankly took up far to much space and would have dominated my living room. The 42PD9700 doesn't do this. It is big and the screen does take up a large part of the room, but it sits snugly on its stand pretty much flat to the wall.
Included within the HD ready TV...

Pioneer PDP-505HD
Review of Pioneer PDP-505HD by
mattthechap
Advantages: Great
Disadvantages: None
...The design on the TV is great. The side speakers are very well integrated with the TV and don't stand out either (they are removable as well if you plan to use a surround sound speaker system). The picture is outstanding and I felt it really was head-and-shoulders above the other TVs I was considering (Sharp Aquos, Sony Plasmas, Philips, Hitachi and Panasonic).
I went to a several retailers and looked at the large Plasma tvs with the same High Definition signal and the Poineer was the best there. As i said before the picture quality is the best i have experienced and this TV delivers a stunning picture which sharp contrast and no pixelization and the sound quality is also great with everything sounding like it has just happened beside you and with Pioneer's new PDP-505HD Advanced PureCinema, material on DVD, videotape, and even...

Review of Hitachi P50T01U by
Siren25
Advantages: Large screen, hdmi, HD ready, Freeview built in, Power swivel, SD card reader.
Disadvantages: Didn't come with a RF lead.....thats about it.
...can even view your digital photos from a USB port which is based on the front, so you can connect your digital camera or your USB memory card reader. A headphone jack point. A user friendly menu system. First time installation setup system. High quality sound with various options to which sound output you want. Lovely high defintion picture with various picture options. The colours are rich, intense, and a pleasure to watch. You can even change the screen size layout to Panoramic, 14:9, full, 4:3 & panoramic.
I must admit i have already given my PS2 to a bash on this. Its like being in an arcade with the screen so big and the bass coming out of the speakers. Its like i\'ll never go back to using a CRT TV ever again. I\'ve been converted to the realm of plasma TV's.
I must say one thing though. Hitachi are really the only company that has...

A perfect centrepiece to any room
Review of Hitachi 55 PD 9700 by
acrossthepond
Advantages: depth of colour, clear picture, awesome sound, 55" display
Disadvantages: heavy and too big for most normal houses
...The price of plasma screens has decreased so much I couldn't pass up the chance to lay my greasy hands on the Hitachi 55PD9700 for £1300. A reduction from the £4000 asking price only 2 years ago and a reasonable price for a 55" HDTV. With a diagonal display of 1.4m, the viewable screen is 1.23m by 0.69m. Its huge and dominated my living room so much we decided to open it up by knocking through intot he dining room. The HDTV now sits in one corner and is the main feature of the room.
As soon as we managed to fit the HDTV into the corner of the room, build the stand and get everything attached (DVD player, PS3 and home computer to the HDMI port) we set about having our lives in front he television changed forever. Things with this HDTV will never be the same again.
The 55PD9700 supports 1024 grey levels which means that it can support...

Beauty and the Feast
Review of Sony KD28DX51 by
mooka
Advantages: Fantastic picture, good sound, free Freeview
Disadvantages: none
...Recently, I decided that it was time to replace my aging Hitachi television. Looked at the (very stylish) latest Plasma and LCD models but still felt the picture quality left something to be desired compared with traditional CRT (cathode ray tube) models.
So off I went to look at the world of traditional widescreen TVs. What a disappointment in the looks department! There seems to be a dictat that all TVs must be SILVER. And all 28"+ models must look like North Sea oil rigs with great sturdy legs as if a storm might break out in your living room at any moment.
Having deeply offended my aesthetic sensibilites I decided to plough on thinking there must be a stylish CRT TV somewhere. Bang & Olufsen provided the answer but not the price (£1000+). Then I found this lastest offering from Sony which stands out like a very healthy thumb...

That good i bought 2!
Review of Hitachi C28WF560S by
fosbrook6695
Advantages: Fantastic picture quality. Never had any problems on either. Still going strong!
Disadvantages: Second unit didnt come with a free stand.
...with the first set is alot more robust than the one that came with the second one. Still both of them look great and work fine.
I find them both quite stylish against the new LCD and Plasma TV's of today. I even think that the Hitachi CRT TV gives a better picture than some of the LCD ones.
And then after the television in my bedroom broke down i decided to by another one of the Hitachi's as i was that pleased with my first one. And neither of them have ever given me any trouble at all. They are in fact still sold in a few electrical retailers, Comet being one of them sell them at £199 which i think is very reasonable for such a gret and reliable TV.
I think that the fact i bought a second one proves how pleased i am with it, the second is coming up to 2 years old and again no problems (touch wood)!
A fantastic buy that has never let me down...

Size Matters.
Review of Hitachi 42PD7200 by
LegendaryMrDude
Advantages: Connectivity options, HD ready, Styling, Price, Picture
Disadvantages: Setup
...bought a Hitachi 42PD7200, which is a 42" plasma display panel with a few whiz-bang features that, at the price, set it apart from everything else.
Now you already know why we bought a 42" screen. And you know why it was a Plasma rather than an LCD, but there's so much choice in the market these days - why did we buy the Hitachi 7200?
First off, we bought it because it's capable of showing the new standard High Definition (HD) pictures. With a resolution of 1024 x 1024 and support (for those that want to know) for up to 1080i, it has enough pixels to do justice to any of the soon-to-be-broadcast signals. The same holds true for high-definition DVDs (when they finally settle on a standard). So in this regard, the screen is relatively future proof and our investment should last a good few years. Given the cost, this is a "good thing...

TV with a difference?? Say goodbye to radiators!!
Review of Hitachi 42PD6600 by
jameslucjan
Advantages: Great picture
Disadvantages: It's a watchable radiator
..., it is impossible to link it up to the sky. I have ploughed through the instructions and have found no help on how to do this or found any indication what the problem might be. So for the time being I am left with the prospect of using two remote controls (I'll be expecting sympathy cards in the post please. lol)
The sound on the TV is average nothing special but I have linked it up to my sound system and it is sounding great.
So all said and done, a very good product for a very good price.
