Reviews of hitachi projector
does the job well
Review of Hitachi CP S225 by
agillett
Advantages: light portable and nice and bright.
Disadvantages: price
...I work for a middle school in Bedfordshire and have recently had the task of buying a projector for the ICT department and looked into a large range of models.
Our school ended up purchasing this model - the Hitachi CP-S225. Below I will note its advantages and disadvantages and other important details.
This is a good looking model with 1000 ANSI Lumens with a short throw lense, lamp with a 2000 hour lamp life, Digital keystone correction and it only weighs 2.4 kilo's.
The education price for this model was £1695 but I would expect it to be a little more at business price.
The advantages of this machine are as follows:
1. COST - not a bad price for a projector in my opinion.
2. WEIGHT - at only 2.4 kilos this model is easily portable and easy to store. It's dimensions are only 298mm(W) * 60mm(H) * 210mm(D)
3. The lamp lasts...

Great Value for Money Projector
Review of Hitachi PJ-TX10 by
scoopy2scoops
Advantages: Quiet, Short Throw, Good Bang for Buck
Disadvantages: Not XGA, bit on the Big side, Screen Door effect
...I bought the PJ-TX10 2 months ago for £360 from ebay and i must say it's already been worth every penny. The best feature by far is the 2X optical zoom and the horizontal and veritcal shift. The features are great if you have a small room, for example my living room is tiny but i can still project a 80" X 80" screen from just 1.5m away from the screen.
The projector is rather large but quite light and fairly attractive looking with a nice silver/grey finish. It is super quiet, i didn't notice any humming when watching a film.
The colour and contrast are excellent and peform well against my bothers XGA Sony projector.
The ANSI Lumens rating isn't too high (800) but it doesn't matter because this projector isn't mean't to be a business projector, it's mean't to be used in the dark. I do find that i need to close curtains / doors...

Image Perfect
Review of Hitachi CP X990 by
mark1961
Advantages: Crystal clear images at a distance.
Disadvantages: Cost of the replacement lamps
...This is an exceptional machine, giving crystal clear images on a large scale with NO distortion. I use the projector in Church and the images are projected onto a screen 8ft by 7ft. The projector is ceiling mounted and all the functions are activated by remote control form a position approx 50ft away.
The images I have projected are
1. Power point from the computer,
2. Video from a VCR
3. Films from a DVD player
4. Live Football matches (Euro 2004),
all of these go through an Allen and Heath sound desk and are amplified to give the very best sound and picture quality.
Technical Stuff
On the machine you have the following connections.
The Back of the machine
ü DVI Terminal
ü S-Video Terminal
ü Video Terminal
ü Audio (Mono)/L Terminal
ü Audio R Terminal
ü USB Terminal
ü RGB IN 1 Terminal
ü RGB IN 2 Terminal
ü RGB OUT

Sony VPL-CS1 A Projector Well Ahead Of It's Time
Review of Sony VPL CS1 by
taylora-2006
Advantages: 1280 x 1024 Maximum Resolution
Disadvantages: Not designed for ceiling mounting.
...This is a great projector overall. I recognise that this is a fairly old projector and pretty much outdated, but as I work with secondhand electronics, I am seeing this projector becoming more and more popular. If you are looking to buy one secondhand I wouldn't expect you to pay any more than £200 at most.
Please do not be put off by the fact that this projector has a brightness of 600 lumens. It is on par with projectors of around 1500 lumens. Infact, it is far better than most projector of double the brightness (1200 lumens) the projectors that come to mind are Toshiba's, but I'll review some of them later.
I think that this projector is popular for a couple of reasons. One is that it has a max resolution of 1280 X 1024 which is superior than most new projectors and certainly beats any projector in it's price range. The second...

Infocus Lite Pro 425 Projector
Review of InFocus LP 425 by
richard_richard
Advantages: Reliable, good picture quality, easy to use
Disadvantages: Starting to show its age!
...The Infocus Lite Pro 425 is a LCD projector designed to display computer images onto a screen or wall. Its compact size shows that it has been built with portability in mind.
This projector was purchased about 3 years ago by the company I work for. The projector cost about £1400 and at the time and it was a pretty high specification machine.
The projector can display a maximum computer resolution of 800x600 and this is in 24bit colour. Although this is still acceptable, the resolution is perhaps a little low by today’s standards.
For those who are unsure of what an LCD projector does, here’s a brief explanation of what we use it for. The LCD projector is designed to be used with a laptop or desktop computer and is best used to display images onto a white screen. If you are familiar with overhead projectors, (like the ones most of us...

Customer Service 2ND to None
Review of Hitachi - Customer Service by
vestyboy
Advantages: Swift, friendly and efficient service
Disadvantages: NONE
...I feel i have to write this as i have just experienced the EXCELLENT customer service department of Hitachi.
I won a 28" TV in a Sky Digital prize draw, with the TV being delevered direct from Hitachi. I was contacted to arrange a conveinient delivery time, which was met by the couriers. When the TV arrived it did not include a stand, and the TV was too big to go on the stand i already had.
I rang Hitachi direct who advised the stand for the model TV i had won could be purchased direct from Hitachi for £24.95, which i thought was more than reasonable. They advised the address to send the cheque.
I posted the chque and was amazed when the stand turned up within only 3 days of me posting the letter, not even enough time for them to make sure the cheque cleared.
So i set up the TV and it didn't work. I rand Hitachi again at 2.00pm...

Quality projector, features for the user
Review of Sanyo PLC XU48 by
gs.2003
Advantages: User friendly, Bright and good quality
Disadvantages: A recommended 3 metres from the screen or wall etc
...We have a few of these projectors at our company and I have to say they are one of the easiest digital projectors we have, has we have a selection of philips, epsons and mitsubishi projectors as well.
The main advantages with this projector is the quality and brightness of the image you get. It is clear at the front of the room and just as clear at the back of the room.
The zoom and focus controls are easy to use by anyone without knowledge of digital projectors, which is located at the front.
The menu features are set out in an easy and neat way for anyone to operate, with simple arrow buttons to move around the menus and selection is with the enter key located in the centre of them. There are security options, brightness and zoom features, location options (which basically means that if you fix the projector to the ceiling you can...
