...As mentioned in my review of the Wii Nunchuck I have had my Wii for a few weeks but haven?t had chance to review it so am starting with the peripherals. The Wii uses wireless controllers (it was the first games console to do this) that communicate with the main console via bluetooth. Unfortunately the Wii only comes with a single controller and as the main fun with the Wii comes from playing against friends and family I immediately purchased a second controller for £29.99 (it is hard to find them cheap anywhere on line or the high street). The controller is white plastic (the same as the Wii itself) styled like a small TV remote and is solidly made and feels even more so when the 2 AA batteries are put in. ...I purchased the Nintendo Wii after weeks of searching the internet for a shop that hadnt sold out and once i found one available i bought it immediately. The package came with Wii sports and a remote controller and i have to say that i was quite impressed. The controllers work well with the console and in particular with wii sports. The biggest issue that i have with the remote is the battery issue. Whilst the batteries do last a long time when installed, to keep replacing them costs a fortune. I also have had this problem with my xbox 360 wireless controllers and would recommend anybody who was buying the controllers to also consider a quick charge kit to accompany it. The unit is very responsive and works very well, this depends on where you put the sensor that is supplied with the wii so make sure that you read the manual carefully...

...We purchased a Hitachi 28" Pure Flat Screen TV in the January 2003 sales. A bargain reduced from £600 to £389. Unfortunately by February 2004 we had a problem with it. A grey screen with wavey diagonal lines and it kept turning itself off after about 5 seconds. Anyway - stupid like we didnt take the extended guarantee - which i would advise everyone to do - if you can afford it obviously. The TV was taken away by a local engineer and basically needed some extensive welding and it cost us £170 and we were left without the TV for 3 weeks. Well we werent happy as you can imagine so we tried to contact Hitachi. We telephoned our local Miller Brothers store who supplied it and they only had a fax number for Hitachi - nothing else !!! So I searched the web and found a few addresses and forward the original reciept...

Hitachi HDR161 - Very handy!

Advantages: Lots of room for recordings, tapes 2 shows at the same time, can pause live TV
Disadvantages: Your restricted to what you can receive through your aerial, no digital PDC alternative

You can also record a show while watching a recording, so its pretty flexible. ...Wii remotes are wonderful! I find they give a unique console gaming experience that is not available with other console controllers. The great thing about the Wii remote is that it gives you a wireless gaming experience allowing you more freedom to move around whilst playing, and really get in to the movement and action in the game. Advantages: Your remote wont slip out of your hand

...I don't know how many times I have gasped at people on Youtube throwing their Wii remote at the TV while they are playing a game. I would be absolutely gutted if I smashed our beloved flat screen but fortunately I shouldn't have this problem. Nintendo have come up with a solution and if you bought your Wii a while a go then you can go to there website where you can pick yours up for free. The Wii remote jacket is basically a silicone outer that fits snugly over the remote. It gives your hand a much better grip on the remote while you play games and stops the silly accidents that have happened in the past. The jacket looks flexible but I did wonder how easily it would fit onto the remote. I can safely say that I found it very easy.
