...Home Improvement is Thee greatest comedy to hit our screens. Home Improvement is about the life of Tim Taylor (Tim Allen) and his family. Tim Taylor has his own cable tv show called "Tool Time" which is co-hosted by his loyal friend Al Borland, who is always the butt of Tim's jokes. Tim is a mans man, on the show he builds his idea of the mans domain etc. ie the all mans bathroom with a Tv and a reclyning toilet seat. Game Improvement

Advantages: It might entertain for about 10 seconds
Disadvantages: Rubbish. Just rubbish.

...The rule for creating film and TV tie-ins, is (usually) to program a formulaic platform game. As a result, they all look and play much the same. It wouldn't surprise me if they were the same, just with slightly different graphics! Home Improvement is no different. Based upon the (also formulaic) US sitcom, it is a platform game. Hurrah. Take control of Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor as he works his way across TV studios (oh, how original!) looking for his tools, armed with some other tools. See how many game clichés he comes across as the game progresses. Collect items which you lose when hit (Sonic). You can swing across gaps on a rope-thing (Batman, Bionic Commando). In fact, almost every part of the game has been 'borrowed' from somewhere else. The graphics look like they've been stolen from Global Gladiators for a start...

...We purchased a Hitachi 28" Pure Flat Screen TV in the January 2003 sales. A bargain reduced from £600 to £389. Unfortunately by February 2004 we had a problem with it. A grey screen with wavey diagonal lines and it kept turning itself off after about 5 seconds. Anyway - stupid like we didnt take the extended guarantee - which i would advise everyone to do - if you can afford it obviously. The TV was taken away by a local engineer and basically needed some extensive welding and it cost us £170 and we were left without the TV for 3 weeks. Well we werent happy as you can imagine so we tried to contact Hitachi. We telephoned our local Miller Brothers store who supplied it and they only had a fax number for Hitachi - nothing else !!! So I searched the web and found a few addresses and forward the original reciept...

Hitachi HDR161 - Very handy!

Advantages: Lots of room for recordings, tapes 2 shows at the same time, can pause live TV
Disadvantages: Your restricted to what you can receive through your aerial, no digital PDC alternative

Now I purchased this just slightly under a month ago but I've used it substantially since then. I must admit, it was a bit of an impulse buy, I'd wanted to buy myself a Nintendo Wii all week and then suddenly on Friday, I decided to change my mind and had a flick through the Argos catalogue to see if I could find something that I thought I'd enjoy and get more use out of (as I decided that I didn't think it was worth the £180 for the Wii when I really don't play my other consoles enough as it is). The sorry saga of home improvements

Advantages: Will be great when its finished
Disadvantages: Will it ever be finished?

The floor space vanished the sofas disappeared but soon my living room was almost empty and ready to be attacked.. Off to B&Q again to get the emulsion paint.. One coat matt again and no it doesn't cover in one coat it does take 2 no matter what it's name implies. Then off to Floors 2 Go to order the flooring and set up the fitting. Next hiccup. It can't be fitted until after I go back to work. Minor difficulty they arrive early in the morning and as my first appointment is at 10 am I can arrange to be at home to let them in and see them started. Now if we remove the skirting boards ourselves it will save time and money so I promise they will be gone before the fitters arrive. Now logic would suggest that it would be better to remove the skirting...

...I wanted a portable CD player for my home-office desk, because I found that playing CDs on my computer whilst I was working seemed to use up memory and sometimes caused my computer to crash. I wanted one with a decent tone, but one that would not take up too much room on my desk. My birthday was coming up (last year), so that answered my wife's question of what to get me for a present. Off we went to Comets. When we arrived there were many CD players that would have suited me for around the £20 mark, but my wife pointed to the Hitachi CX68 saying how good looking it was with it's round, blue-lit window on the front that indicated radio stations or CD information, depending on what was being played.
