...This is my parents' telly. It has proved great for having friends over to watch dvds. We don't actually have a dvd player so we connect up our laptops to the computer using the ports provided & our own leads for connecting a monitor to a computer & sound speakers. Theres a way around anything these days. It works great. Its like being in a cinema in fact. It is our new main home t.v. - mostly because our old one had just packed in & my dad believes you should always spend as much as possible on new stuff (hmm.. yeh, ok dad). This is our first plasma. It was fairly easy to set up & use, although I admit I left the setting up to dad. But he's famous for technical disasters so that must be a good thing. Once you know what you're doing, the connections are also very easy to use. Just one thing.. be careful with laptops, as connecting...

HOME CINEMA ON A BUDGET? TRY THESE.

Advantages: Small,unobtrusive satellite speakers.
Disadvantages: Not as good as larger speakers.

...I brought my set of tannoys 15 months ago and, at the time,they cost £300.Now,with a little searching around,they can be obtained for under £200. What you get in the box is five satellite speakers(two front,two rear and a centre speaker) plus a seperate powered subwoofer. You also get wall mounted supports for the two front and two rear speakers and all the speaker cables(i changed the cables to 79 stand q.e.d. speaker cable to improve the sound). Setting up the system is relatively easy:you just need an electric drill for the the wall mounted stands and once fitted,you just connect the cables to your home cinema amp. Easy!! Once you have connected everything,it is time to try out the system. My first reaction and i am sure yours will be the same was one of complete disbelief!! The sound quality for such small speakers...

Each hour, day and week they will become more musical. Remember it is always worth to invest some money in cables, let them spread the wings, maybe the speakers are not top shelf, I would say more like a upper "budget" but nevertheless give them "some space". I did some listening in the shop (on an arcam system), comparing them to monitor audio brozne, smaller silvers - RS5, Acoustic Energy Neo 3 and B&W 685 (highly acclaimed - how fair). .... I was looking for a good quality, not to expensive home cinema system and found this one. Saw LG HT353SD in Sainsbury's for just £79.99 and was not sure. I checked all the other prices online and details on manufacturer's website. Same day decided to go for it and bought it next day. I have it over one week now and am totally satisfied. It does exactly everything what should and does it great. This home theatre system is very nice looking and nicely designed. Stylish I would say as each speakers surface reflects. Home cinema disappointment

Advantages: Ease of controls, smart black speakers and player with blue light, good quality sound.
Disadvantages: Home cinema deliverance limited unless using a DVD.

...Having finally said goodbye to an old DVD player and separate CD and radio player, we decided to opt for the home cinema system from Samsung. Having already recently purchased a Samsung TV which we were very pleased with the value for money of the Samsung Home Cinema TZ215 tempted us to carry on with the brand. I hate to admit that in my opinion I am disappointed in the 'home cinema' aspect in that I expected more and now having read the other reviews wonder if I actually connected it up properly, but we have checked everything and all seems ok. Firstly, with four tall speakers dotted correctly around the room and set up as per the instruction manual for distance etc, I was disappointed in that the four all do not work at the same time. ...I tested this out in shop and it sounded excellent. I bought it and it sounds 10 times better in my lounge. The 1000 watts power fills room with clear powerful sound. The music special fx and speech is crystal clear. It has a whisper mode so even at lower volumes the sound is perfect. This is a blu ray player and picture quality is beautiful. It will also up grade old dvds to higher quality. This is true they are better pictures but not that much different. The best aspect of this system is ability to create blu ray quality sound, it is true blu ray does have much improved sound quality and this system can recreate it. It also has an ipod interface....
