...We purchased a Hitachi 28" Pure Flat Screen TV in the January 2003 sales. A bargain reduced from £600 to £389. Unfortunately by February 2004 we had a problem with it. A grey screen with wavey diagonal lines and it kept turning itself off after about 5 seconds. Anyway - stupid like we didnt take the extended guarantee - which i would advise everyone to do - if you can afford it obviously. The TV was taken away by a local engineer and basically needed some extensive welding and it cost us £170 and we were left without the TV for 3 weeks. Well we werent happy as you can imagine so we tried to contact Hitachi. We telephoned our local Miller Brothers store who supplied it and they only had a fax number for Hitachi - nothing else !!! So I searched the web and found a few addresses and forward the original reciept...

Hitachi HDR161 - Very handy!

Advantages: Lots of room for recordings, tapes 2 shows at the same time, can pause live TV
Disadvantages: Your restricted to what you can receive through your aerial, no digital PDC alternative

...pretty easy to get the hang of and its quick and easy to set up recordings, you can even start an automatic recording by simply pressing the button with a red circle/dot while you have a channel on screen and it'll automatically start to record it. You get alot of fairly fancy options like pausing and rewinding live TV and taping 2 programmes at once and PIP and you can also access the more general Freeview related things like teletext and you have access to the usual red button and 3 other colour buttons that correspond on certain screens to, for instance, edit options and so on. This model isn't whats called 'Freeview Playback enabled', it doesn't have a series link option like Sky+ (though I hear that those don't always work, I prefer to manually search and set up recording timers to be sure I don't miss anything anyway) and it doesn't have...

Scoring a Hit-achi With The Scullery Maid

Advantages: Very neat - seemingly a lot of kit for the money

...Yes I admit it I am going grey. I coloured my hair recently using Naturtint hair colour. Naturtint make a range of 24 Permanent Hair Colorants, from Ebony black , chestnut reds through to Blondes. It is also possible to mix these colours to get your own individual shade . My hair is not a vibrant colour its a greying mouse brown. Since this was the first time I was using this brand of hair dye I decided to play safe and a I chose hazel nut blonde. they don?t do mouse brown. I bought my pack from a health store. I think you should be able to buy it from health shops chemists and on line too, one site selling is http://www.herbsgardenshealth.com. I paid £9 for a bottle of this colour. ...I went for a Max Factor Foundation as I knew the brand as was intrigued by the 'colour adapt' part of the labelling. As I had previously found it hard to find a foundation that matched and complemented my skin tone (I'm fairly pale in skin colour), this appealled to me as I'm always keen to avoid that over made up look. This line of foundation has an extensive range of shades from the ghostly white to the darkest brown, a colour for everyone.
