...We purchased a Hitachi 28" Pure Flat Screen TV in the January 2003 sales. A bargain reduced from £600 to £389. Unfortunately by February 2004 we had a problem with it. A grey screen with wavey diagonal lines and it kept turning itself off after about 5 seconds. Anyway - stupid like we didnt take the extended guarantee - which i would advise everyone to do - if you can afford it obviously. The TV was taken away by a local engineer and basically needed some extensive welding and it cost us £170 and we were left without the TV for 3 weeks. Well we werent happy as you can imagine so we tried to contact Hitachi. We telephoned our local Miller Brothers store who supplied it and they only had a fax number for Hitachi - nothing else !!! So I searched the web and found a few addresses and forward the original reciept...

Hitachi HDR161 - Very handy!

Advantages: Lots of room for recordings, tapes 2 shows at the same time, can pause live TV
Disadvantages: Your restricted to what you can receive through your aerial, no digital PDC alternative

...set it up to record. You can also save favourites to favourites list, if you only particularly use a few of the extra Freeview channels then it could be worth doing that. I believe you can get the EPG/guide to only show the channels on your favourites list, so its easier to see the channels that interest you at a glance. As well as this, another pretty useful function this box provides is PIP (Picture In Picture). I believe this only works if the box is installed/cabelled in a certain way and I have to admit honestly that I'm not very knowledgable about such things, I can learn how to use technology pretty well but installing hardware im not very good at and so I got someone else to set this up for me, so I can't really help in that respect... I do know that it requires a direct feed to the ariel and it has a scart connector of course...

Tooled right up in IT!

...DIY SOS is on BBC One and it is a programme that i enjoy as it is about DIY and gives you some great ideas in how to decorate your home and it is now ready to start its 10th series. DIY SOS is a show that picks someone each week that has a DIY disaster and they then go and redecorate the whole of the space whether it be a kitchen or the front room they always do a great job and give me some great ideas on how to decorate the home. Also unlike most DIY shows they have a week to do the show in so manage to do a proper job where as some shows these days have 60 minutes or something silly to try and decorate a house in, which to a high standard is impossible. THIS IS A FANTASTIC GROOMING TOOL FOR EVERY DOG OWNER

Advantages: The best grooming tool I have ever used
Disadvantages: Can be pricey

...I own both a Siberian Husky and a small, hairy being of not fixed breeding! , in Spain where the weather gets very hot and your dogs would much rather "shed in the shade" - or, all over the carpet. Anybody who has a husky will know they have double coats, a darker upper coat with a downy underlayer which for two years until I found this grooming tool was a nightmare, I used every brush and comb available, plus some horse tools which I thought worth a try, but to no avail ! My husky looked constantly as if the moths had been at him, except in November when there was a short pause. Cleaning the house was a nightmare and I never seemed to get rid of all the fluff from his undercoat. Then I discovered the Furminator ! It was fantastic, the terrace looked as if it had been coated in snow as all the undercoat came out so easily...
