...We purchased a Hitachi 28" Pure Flat Screen TV in the January 2003 sales. A bargain reduced from £600 to £389. Unfortunately by February 2004 we had a problem with it. A grey screen with wavey diagonal lines and it kept turning itself off after about 5 seconds. Anyway - stupid like we didnt take the extended guarantee - which i would advise everyone to do - if you can afford it obviously. The TV was taken away by a local engineer and basically needed some extensive welding and it cost us £170 and we were left without the TV for 3 weeks. Well we werent happy as you can imagine so we tried to contact Hitachi. We telephoned our local Miller Brothers store who supplied it and they only had a fax number for Hitachi - nothing else !!! So I searched the web and found a few addresses and forward the original reciept...

Electric Knights

Advantages: A fine work by the Deathstars
Disadvantages: Perhaps a little formulaic

...it's quite slow in tempo, but it's certainly got me trying to move in time as I listen. It glides along to a faster finish. A most satisfying start to the album. 7/10 2. "Night Electric Night" The second song is faster in tempo, although does alternate between faster and slower sections building up to a fast finish, which is something I demand and appreciate from the Deathstars. I love the finish of this. It also satisfies and makes me chair-dance. 7/10 3. "Death Dies Hard" I will deny you This world belongs to me This is apparently the first single from the album. It seems a pretty solid choice. To me, it feels like a James Bond theme, and the title certainly sounds Bond-ish. I like it. The keyboards remind me of a-ha, too. But it's still all very reassuringly Deathstars-ish. 8/10 4. "The Mark of the Gun" But...

A grinder for cheaper than elsewhere

Advantages: Fresh ground coffee at a good price
Disadvantages: Loud, a bit messy and somewhat limited adjustment

...The Starbucks Barista grinder is a relabelled Dualit grinder which is offered at a reduced cost from Starbucks outlets. A grinder is essential for those who want fresh coffee. Coffee beans will last much better than ground coffee, and so grinding before use becomes the only way to ensure the freshest coffee. A burr grinder like this one is essential for an even grind that doesn't burn the coffee. The coffee mills with spinning blades should be avoided at all costs, as they cannot evenly grind each bean and give consistent grounds. Added to their shortcomings of a mill, is that the speed of the blade heats and alters the coffee as it is ground. Hitachi CX68 MP3/CD + Radio - Tough Little Beast

Advantages: Good tone quality, looks, reliability and functions
Disadvantages: no cassette player facility

...had the best looks and of course the extras. My Hitachi is played every day and is holding out quite well to the way I "punish" it. I do use a lens cleaner because from what I can understand, a laser operates through a small internal lens and reads the CD. In all CD players, this lens can get minute particles of dust on it and can cause the CD to malfunction, like skipping tracks etc. I think I've got this right. A Lens cleaning CD can be bought in many electric appliance stores including Tesco/Sainsburys etc for a couple of pounds. The only thing that I could criticize about Hitachi, is that it does not have a cassette player, but seeing that I have a CD player in my car, that is not a problem for me and I have transferred my many music cassettes onto my computer and burned them to CD, but that is an article for another review...

Scoring a Hit-achi With The Scullery Maid

Advantages: Very neat - seemingly a lot of kit for the money
Disadvantages: Noisy FM in weak reception areas. Choosy CD player

...to throw in a remote control and make it come in at under £50, I?d only be too happy to take one off their hands. So, after all the nasty things I?ve said about DSG (Dixons, Currys and PC World) in the past, this is where I end up, buying a Hitachi AX-M77 CD Micro System for £49.99. I have to say, that for something costing 50 knicker, I was only expecting to come home with something, shall we say, a bit more ?own brand?, a bit more ?Matsui? let?s say. the grinder that doesn't grind - useless

Advantages: cheap
Disadvantages: lots: the main being that it doesn't do what it claims to!

...Not to be recommended - do not buy! This is a very simple product that mashes well - but only if the foods are VERY soft before you grind them in this food mill. Root vegetables such as potatoes have to be floury and almost mashed already for it to work. Fruit and veg such as avocado and banana etc have to be super ripe (bananas need to be brown!) - otherwise the food grinder doesn't actually grind the food, it just gets stuck. When foods are this soft and mushy you might as well just use a fork on a plate - in fact you'd be better off as the food grinder is tricky to clean! Also, we all know that foods that are overcooked like this have little nutritional value, in fact Annabel Karmel herself has been busy writing about it in her books! I bought this product mainly for the purpose of ridding husk/skin off garden peas, dried...

...I should say at the outset that I am NOT a handyman type. However, my late father in law was a stonemason and I inherited some of his tools when he died, and our small patio badly needed relaying. So, remembering some of the tricks of the trade he'd imparted to me I set about cutting some paving slabs to size with a club hammer and a bolster chisel. What had seemed effortless when he did it suddenly became hard graft and, sure enough, the fourth slab toppled when I tried to turn it over and off I went to A&E with a broken finger. A friend heard about my accident and, when he'd finished laughing at my ineptitude, he lent me his angle grinder, a Bosch GWS 8-115C. Disadvantages: Limited range, few power points, expensive to buy

...The British government recently announced that from 2011 they would contribute up to £5000 towards purchasing one of the new generation of electric vehicles that will become available. Is this a generous offer from a proactive government serious about climate change or a move from a desperate bunch of politicians? On face value it looks quite good but there are numerous questions that have been unanswered & throw doubt on their offer. They chose an unusual time to announce it, two days before a rather grim budget; surely it would have made more impact on budget day. Cynics would say they chose two days before the budget to divert attention away from the Damien Green nasty emails affair & the constant press attention to MP?s expenses. I have little time or respect for modern day politicians & tend to agree with the latter assumption...

...I think it is fair to say that I was prepared and planned for Aleyna's birth. I spent the last 2 months of my pregnancy nesting, organising, obsessing, much to my husband's delight as I am normally a little slovenly!! However nothing could have prepared us for Aleyna spending 2 weeks in intensive care.
