...'Hole in the Wall' is the latest primetime television show with the aim of demeaning 'so called' celebrities and it succeeds in a major way. The show is an adaptation of a Japanese show, hence the reason why it's so bizarre, anybody who's ever seen Takeshi's Castle will understand what I mean by this. The concept is simple, celebrities stand in front of a swimming pool and have a large polystyrene wall travelling towards them at speed. The only way they can get through the wall without being knocked into the water is to match their body shape to the shape illustrated or cut-out of the wall, some of them are incredible and they get harder as the rounds go by, towards the end involving all three team members simultaneously. A Hole In One!

Advantages: Silly and quite enrtertaining!
Disadvantages: All the contestants work for the BBC!

Somehow this is Saturday night TV gone mental as the fact is that I was actually hooked on this after one episode in the same way that I was with the Channel Five show Night Fever. Originating from the Japanese game show called Tonneruzu, the premise is simple. The wall accelerates towards the game zone and the contestants have to fit through the space in the wall by means of the shape that has been cut out, whether it is a stance, a position or simply a hole. If they don't then they end up in a pool of water, bottom line is they have to adopt the shape to get through the wall and win points. A hole lot of boredom

Advantages: Started off funny
Disadvantages: but then fell at the first hurdle, never to recover

...This not so original game show consist of the quiz mistress Dale Winton basically humiliating lycra clad team leaders Anton Du Beke (strictly come dancing fame) and cricketer Darren Gough, together with two other "celebrities" on each team, varying weekly. This BBC hosted show created 10 half hour episodes and began airing them in 2008. WHAT IS IT THEN..? Each team member, donned in tight fitting Lycra suits and safety hats, has to stand on the edge of a small pool of water and try to avoid getting wet by jumping through an oddly shaped hole in a wall which is hurtling towards them at break neck speed, (well not quite break neck, more snail slime speed), each round causing the wall to be more difficult and a little faster. If the member manages to jump through the hole then they are awarded points depending on style...

...Hole in the Wall is a TV game show, currently showing on the BBC and in America, on the Fox Network. The show has been 'Americanised' from a Japanese concept show called 'Brain Wall', also known as 'Human Tetris' on YouTube. Basically, two teams of three take it turns to fit through different shaped holes in a wall. Sounds easy, except if you don't fit, you fall in pool of water - gutted! Advantages: Impressive Debut From Two Young Brighton Brothers
Disadvantages: The Album Ends.

...Holes In The Wall is the debut album from this impressive Brighton based duo of brothers. Amazingly the White brothers, Tom and Alex are aged just 17 and 20, and are musically talented far beyond their years. Between them they play all the instruments, drums, lead guitar, bass guitar, drum machines, piano, bass guitars and synths. Advantages: Full of suspense, good performance by Birch
Disadvantages: Didn't quite deliver...

...need to do much except look good and be ill. This film was made just before her role in Bend It Like Beckham, so it obviously didn't do her career any harm, but I wasn't overly impressed. Laurence Fox as Geoff was again good, but not brilliant. My problem with him as an actor is that he always seems the same and I don't really feel that he is acting. Desmond Harrington as Mike is pretty convincing. I didn't like him as a character, but I thought Harrington worked well within the role - he wasn't really supposed to be a likable character anyway. Daniel Brocklebank as Martyn only has a brief role, but it was suitably a good mixture of creepiness and intelligence - good stuff. I liked the way that the story is told. It begins with Liz's escape from the hole; we see her filthy and injured, staggering back to the school that she attends to...

Disadvantages: Bit weird

...Why would four, wealthy, public school teenagers want to go and stay in an old army bunker just to avoid a field trip? I don't know, but they do and they pay for it too. Crazy. Anyway, back to the opinion. In brief, The Hole is about these four (somewhat stupid) English (but one American) teens who set up camp in this large underground hide-out. Martin, the mastermind who locked them in the bunker and made sure their parents and the school didn't find out about it and left them there. On the day he's supposed to let them out, he doesn't and they're locked in. They find things fun to start with - all that alcohol and sex but then they run out of food and the water and electricity go off... Scary! ...Most of the mums and dads out there will have enjoyed the recent serge of cartoons that make kids feel like adults or the ones that make adults feel like kids, stuffed full of in-jokes for the grown ups like the family are with popcorn (the worlds biggest mark-up on a food snack!) in the cinemas, a great way to get the whole family into those multiplexes as they gulp their bumper Cokes and the money roles in. But with WALL- E we have the first real carton aimed at adults that the kids can watch too, if they are well-behaved, politically aware pixel animation definitely the future. It really is a smart commercial more by Pixel and a really clever little flick to-boot that they have come up with here, comfortably one of the best films of the year, one you can watch over and over again.
