...Falesia Hotel The hotel isn't actually in Albufeira but in Acoteias, which is about 15 minutes from the city of Albufeira, 20 minutes from Villamoura and 30-40 minutes from Faro Airport. We booked the holiday through Thomson. This is classed as a Thompson Gold holiday as the hotel is a 4 star. We paid £330 per person for 7 nights half board in the month of April. So was it worth it? Let's see. When we arrived at the hotel, we had to queue up for our rooms to get allocated. The people on the desk were friendly and helpful. The Room The hotels has 170 rooms. I think because I had requested a double bed, our options were limited. We were given a room on the second floor but unlike the rest of the rooms that had keycards, we given keys. Room 211A. I wouldn't want a "Holiday Inn" this hotel

Advantages: Good location
Disadvantages: dull, dull, dull - and not cheap either

...This hotel has been listed on Ciao for more than two years without anyone writing about it and I'm not actually all that surprised. Writing a review of a really good hotel is easy and writing one about an awful hotel is fun. But how about hotels that are just a bit blurgh - not great, not awful? Is it actually possible to write an interesting review of an uninteresting hotel? I'm still not sure about that. If you find it a bit dull, please go and read one of my other hotel reviews - they'll probably be more interesting but Ciao needs the good and the bad as well as the mediocre. Sitting in my room at the Holiday Inn in Paris St Germain de Pres I couldn't help but reflect that the designers drew heavily from that area of the colour palette best characterised by the term 'nicotine'. Had a fantastic holiday at this hotel

Advantages: superb food, location next to beach size of rooms, air conditioning, friendly staff
Disadvantages: abundence of children at high season, no fridges in rooms

...becasue we wanted a good view. Unfortunatly we didn't have a sea view I asked reception if I would be able to change this and they informed me that as the hotel was fully booked I would have to wait a couple of days, we decided to keep the room we had. The views were still good, overlooking the pool, the town of La Pineda and on a clear day you could see out the mountains and the 'Port Aventura' theme park over 5 miles away! The room was spacious with a big double bed, a satilite t.v ( 2 english speaking channels) a telephone, hairdrier, safety deposit box ( a cost of 20 euros from reception but you get 6 of that back at the end of the holiday). There was a small dressing table with a large mirror, 1 chair and a small bench which had a shelf underneath which I presume was for shoes. There was a spacious wardrobe with the safe, 2 small...

...I feel that I must write a review in defence of Goldtrail Holiays, even though I do have one grievance against them. I booked a trip to Marmaris via Bodrum Airport with Goldtrail from 12/07/06 - 19/07/06. I was a little wary as I had never been to Turkey (except a day trip to Bodrum from Kos) and I had never heard of Goldtrail. The holiday was Our choice - Marmaris, which meant allocation on arrival. We arrived at Bodrum airport at 15:50 and were on the coach and making our way to Marmaris by 16:30. We had a comfort break half way for about 20 minutes as it is a 2 and a half hour transfer. We eventually arrived at our destination 'Marmaris Beach Hotel' situated behind Natalies Steakhouse 2 at around 19:15. Holiday !

Advantages: Nice sweet film, romantic comedy
Disadvantages: Not the best romantic comedy I have seen, some may find it too sickly sweet!

Ladik Park Hotel and Goldtrail holidays

...I have travelled all over the world with my family and stayed in numerous ratings of hotels from budget to five star but have to say our experience in October 2006 at the Ladik Park Marmaris must be my worst holiday experience. We were there the last week of the season. Only a few rooms were occupied. It was freezing at night and the hotel only had 2 blankets for four of us. We went days without hot water. The rep was non existant. The last two days a wedding took place and hotel guests were ignored and the pool put out of action. Couldnt sleep as we were in the room next to bar that had paperthin walls and music went on until 3am every morning. Goldtrail did nothing about my complaint. Never book with them. Confusion and Illusion at Holiday Inn

A look behind the scenes of the brand policy, products and pricing shows however a very different picture. Holiday Inn is in fact often more expensive than the competition and provides a low degree of service for the price. The problem with the perception of HI is that most people only know their lowprice HI Express chain and have little to say about HI's other brands and products. All five opinions posted on HI before mine only discuss the merits of HI Express, but that's just one of four HI brands. That's also Ciao's mistake, they should have created a category for each brand/chain separately. 1 of the best Holiday inn hotels

...I work for this hotel but I've also stayed here on my wedding night so you might think I'm being over generous with the scoring but I've stayed in alot of Holiday inn hotels and I can tell you this is the best so far. If you need a hotel in a good location with easy access to the motorway then this is the hotel for you. Just off the M62, junction 25 going towards Brighouse. It sits on a hill with gorgeous surroundings, its a great location for weddings. It was built in 1989. The car park is free for Hotel residents and guests using other facilities like the spirit club, bar area or restaurant. The car park has CCTV and can hold up to 220 cars on three levels and on the top level it has dedicated easy access car parking for blue badge holders only. ...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights. LOCATION: The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal. PRICE: Prices vary depending on size of room and season. The Holiday - a good chick flick

...The Holiday is a chick flick type film although it is not quite your normal chick flick. It is based around the story of two girls , Amanda, played by Cameron Diaz and Iris played by Kate Winslet. Amanda is a film trailer producer who has just broke up with her boyfriend, she lives in LA. Iris lives in Surrey in a little cottage and is a writer for a paper. She is still in love with her ex boyfriend who she works with and has just found out he is getting engaged. Amanda starts searching on the Internet for some sort of holiday to get away and try and forget what has happened.
