...This was my first ever experience of a Holiday Inn Express Hotel, but having stayed at this hotel recently I am sure I will be using this chain again. I found the Holiday Inn Express Cheltenham to be excellent value for money,very clean, well situated and with all the elements for a peaceful and agreable overnight stay. Location: The hotel is situated right in the centre of Cheltenham, a town which is on the edge of the Cotswolds and an agreable destination in its own right. No mum it's not a petrol station, it's the Holiday Inn Oxford.

Advantages: Great Price. Good location for roads. Next to park and ride, cheaper than paying for parking!
Disadvantages: Another Holiday Inn, nothing that unique about it. Surly reception staff.

We have had a rather turbulent year so my brother and I felt it was necessary to take my mother and father away for a birthday celebration as a family. We chose Holiday Inn because we had stayed at the hotel on many occasions before and were pleased with it and it's value for money. The hotel is located right by the Millenium Stadium. This was convenient for us because the auditioning for the X Factor took place in the Stadium. The hotel is a short 5 minute walk from the high street which was good! Advantages: Very near the airport.

...I stayed at the holiday Inn Gatwick with my family before and after flying out to the caribbean. It was clean and friendly and even the kids enjoyed it. The rooms were quite spacious with tea and coffe facilities. I even called reception as there was only one hot chocolate between the 2 children, and they were at our room within minutes with more sachets and packets of biscuits. We ate an evening meal there too and it wasn't too badly priced! We got up early the next morning and had a swim before catching our longhaul flight, which used up a bit of energy so the kids weren't too restless on the plane. All in all we loved it and would definitely stay again....

...On a trip to Dusseldorf earlier this year, I'd enjoyed the luxury of a night in the Sheraton at Dusseldorf Airport, then taken the train up to Bremen before returning back once again to Dusseldorf. Since I was on my own this time and trying to save a few pennies, I'd resorted to the cheaper but less convenient option of the Holiday Inn Dusseldorf Airport Ratingen. That's quite a mouthful of a name and enough to get me a very patronising lecture from the taxi driver about how flughafen meant airport (like I didn't know - duh) and Ratingen was somewhere else entirely. ...I stayed in this Holiday Inn on New Year's Eve 2007, and was pleasantly surprised by the price of approximately £60 including breakfast; especially impressive given the normal hotel procedure of hiking up prices on 31st December. The hotel was easy to find (albeit with sat nav!), and the receptionist that greeted us was friendly and polite; directing us to our room which we found to be nothing short of clean, comfortable and pleasant. My husband in particular was happiest about the fact that they had a built in Playstation with the TV - albeit a Playstation One, it kept him entertained whilst I got ready to go out!
