Short Break - Holiday Inn York

Advantages: Location, accessability, breakfasts
Disadvantages: Hidden hair dryer!

...My wife and I spent 3 nights in this Holiday Inn in January 2008. It is on the outskirtds of York and easy to find/get to. The room was good and despite facing the main road there was no problem with noise, etc.. It was a good size, clean and tidy with a nice ensuite, tea/coffee facilities. The hair dryer for some reason hides in a drawer but once found was better than the astmatic ones you sometimes get! The breakfasts were good, (buffet style). Good choice (hot and cold), good quality and you can helps yourself to ample quantities! We did not eat any other meals there though they are avaliable. Parking is good with lots of spaces to the front, side and round the back. The staff were friendly and helpful. In the foyer there are lots of leaflets avaliable of local places of interest. Holiday Inn - cheap and cheerful

Advantages: Reasonably inexpensive (prices differ between hotels)
Disadvantages: No frills

...On a recent trip to York (pleasure), we were let down by our first choice of hotel (they claimed not to get out internet reservation) and therefore we ended up staying for one night at the 'Holiday Inn Central'. For a very reasonable city centre hotel price of £60 (excl breakfast) we secured a room at the Holiday Inn and made our way over to find that there was no parking available - we had to leave our car in a nearby multi-storey which didn't prove cheap for over 24 hrs. There was some free parking around the hotel but with a maximum stay of 2 hours between 08:00 and 18:00, you had to time it well to take advantage ! The hotel was clean but fairly basic. Unlike some other 'cheaper' hotels, there was a restaurant and a full english cost us £5.99 per person as they were running a special offer - I believe normal price is nearer...

I want to be a part of it, New York, New York!

Advantages: Comfortable, amazing bathroom, nice rooms
Disadvantages: Small rooms, random cleaning times!

...On my recent trip to the USA I left Mr Tart to book the hotel for New York. Normally I wouldn?t leave it to him as I?d end up in the cheapest hostel but my influence is obviously rubbing off as he came up trumps with the Hilton! LOCATION: The Hilton Garden Inn is located at 63 West 35th Street. We wanted something pretty central so we could pay for as little transport as possible. We couldn?t really have done much better. We were a two minute walk from Macys (very important for the girls!) and a 10 minute walk to Times Square. There was also a subway stop literally 10 metres from the entrance to the hotel. PRICES: We stayed in the hotel for two nights. Mr Tart booked through Priceline so we didn?t know exactly what we were going to get but he?d stipulated area and minimum star rating. No mum it's not a petrol station, it's the Holiday Inn Oxford.

Advantages: Great Price. Good location for roads. Next to park and ride, cheaper than paying for parking!
Disadvantages: Another Holiday Inn, nothing that unique about it. Surly reception staff.

We have had a rather turbulent year so my brother and I felt it was necessary to take my mother and father away for a birthday celebration as a family. After a good trawl of the internet we decided to visit Oxford. As my brother has two young children it was necessary to consider a family room, ideally with some facilities to keep the children entertained, so we found ourselves at Holiday Inn Oxford. Holiday Inn Madrid

Advantages: Nice staff, clean, kettle in the room
Disadvantages: The local area, rather expensive

...the businesses have shut for the evening. I expected the financial district to be like the City of London-busy, gleaming, new etc but was sorely disappointed at the run down feel to the area. There is a security guard stationed in the lobby too. The room: I was satisfied with the room. It was clean and spacious though I would be wary when opening the window as it does open right out and would not be safe if you had small children with you. My room had a window view over the front of the hotel. The double bed was comfortable and there was a Pillow Menu if you fancied having an allergy free pillow for example. The bathroom had marble effect furnishings, the shower was hot and there were plenty of fluffy towels and toiletries for my two-night stay. ...This was my first ever experience of a Holiday Inn Express Hotel, but having stayed at this hotel recently I am sure I will be using this chain again. I found the Holiday Inn Express Cheltenham to be excellent value for money,very clean, well situated and with all the elements for a peaceful and agreable overnight stay. Location: The hotel is situated right in the centre of Cheltenham, a town which is on the edge of the Cotswolds and an agreable destination in its own right. The hotel was easily found being opposite "The Brewery", a new food and retail development that is well sign posted.
