Solway Holiday Park
Advantages: the farm and hot tub
Disadvantages: people in our hot tub
...I have just come back from a week in the Lakes and have decided to try and have a go at reviewing the place we stayed.
Solway Holiday Park is situated in Silloth Cumbria (about 22 miles west of Carlisle) which is small village with a population of around 3000.
If you want a town with lots going on then Silloth is not for you, it has a lovely large green and a great sea view although it is not a beach. It also has cafes and the odd take away along with some little shops and of course a Spar (everywhere seems to have a Spar). Near the green is amusements which also sells refreshments.
The park itself was quite easy to find I got the directions from greenflag. As we drove in through the entrance the reception was quite well sign posted, when we booked we were told booking in time was 4pm (which I thought was a bit late but...

Penstowe. Manor House Holiday Park..Cornwall
Advantages: Friendly, Quiet, Good Sports Fascilities.Nr Bude.
Disadvantages: You do need a car. Chalets can Vary.
...Each Holiday Club differs from the others. No two are the same.....
Penstowe Park started its life as a Private Manor house built in 1862. in a Place called Upper Stowe. Hence the name Penstowe. It is on the outskirts of a village called Kilkhampton, 4 miles North of Bude.....
The Manor house is set in many acres of land which was at the time beautifully landscaped with lush trees and shrubs. Many of which still remain, In the springtime the gardens benefits from the Rhododendrons and Azaleas, ferns and bamboo.
There are many chalets set in the grounds, not in straight rows either, like some of the holiday camps we have been to. The chalets vary in size and shape greatly, there are some new bungalow style chalets just as you enter from the lower drive.
On the right are the Spanish Villas. Further on are the wooden chalets...

Sandford Holiday Park
Advantages: Good family centre with lots of on-site facilities.
Disadvantages: Not as good in the cold wet weather of UK
...I have been to the wonderful Sandford Park in Poole, Dorset, three times now. I went twice when I was younger, with my dad and brother and then returned as an adult, in 2001, with my husband and our kids. My husbands mum and dad also came with us and I will base this review mainly on my experiences there in 2001.
##THE PARK##
Sandford Park is set in 64 acres of woodland, close to Purbeck Hills. They cater for all sorts of holidaymakers and their varying budgets.
They offer a variety of holiday homes there, which include one bedroom caravans that sleep 2-4, two bedroom caravans that sleep 4-6, three bedroom caravans that sleep 6-8, then the lodge style caravans that sleep either 4-6 or 6-8, depending on number of bedrooms. There is also space for holidaymakers with tents. We?re not really a camping sort of family so cannot...

Great Holiday Park
Advantages: Lots to do, beautiful area
Disadvantages: couldn't fit everything in.
...Last year I holidayed at Fallbarrow Holiday Park (a park run by the company South Lakeland Parks), and have an absolutely brilliant time.
A family of 7 of us all went to Fallbarrow together - me, my partner, my parents, my brother and his 2 children, who were at the time 5 and 2. We went in October last year, as my niece was on half term break.
More information on Fallbarrow can be found at http://www.slholidays.co.uk/Fallbarrow, we also booked online where there are some really good special offers!
* Accommodation *
We stayed in Green Farm Cottage which about £700 for 7 nights, which we all agreed was extremely reasonable.
The cottage is absolutely stunning, it has such character and we all fit in very comfortably. With three Double bedrooms we were all happy. A single and also a pull out double sofa bed, we were laughing...

Michaelstow manor, cornwall
Advantages: central to most places of interest in cornwall
Disadvantages: everything, especially the cleanliness
...of people on the site, we spent a whole morning waiting for one washer to become free so we could do a load of washing!, we then waited 40 mins for our washing to be dried and it came out damp. The children's play area was so filthy, with mud caked everywhere, so I refused to allow my 19 month old son play on it. The childrens entertainment started far too late for our son to get any enjoyment out of it.We only used it only as a base for eating and sleeping. Very poor value for money.I was glad to leave the park....

Craig Tara holiday park
Advantages: none
Disadvantages: everything about the place
...We went to Craig Tara holiday park in Ayr this year for our summer holidays ( July 2007), I went as I thought it would be a fun holiday for my kids, at that stage they were aged 8 years, 6 years and 5 years.
Looking for a family holiday
It was October 2006 and we were looking up different holidays on the internet as we wanted to book well in advance we came across Craig tara, I must say by the look of their website it was brilliant. The chalets looked amazing and there seemed to be loads to do and the prices didnt look bad either.
Booking
We decided to book a week, half board in a silver chalet, we rang Havens them selves and asked for more details, they told us the price, which was £526, the check in time (2pm) The price included funworks passes for us all, so we booked there and then and paid through debit card. Everything...

Haven Holiday Park - Wild Duck
Advantages: There is camping/caravaning facilities
Disadvantages: Our tent was quite away from the toilets, not good at night
...Myself and my family went on holiday last September to Haven Holiday Park - Wild Duck. Which is located about approx 10-15 miles away from Great Yarmouth. This not not one of the big Havens, but is a very friendly and had everything we wanted.
We did not stay in one of their holiday homes or chalets we went camping in our tent. As we were going just as the school holidays had finished, the 1st week in September, we were only charged £23 for 5 nights.
This price included fun passes for the whole family so we were able to enjoy all the facilities on the park. The children were able to join in with activities in the mornings, which included painting, drawing and general childrens games. There is 2 swimmming pools on site, an indoors one and an outdoors pool. The outdoors pools was such as it was not peak season, but...

Warmwell Holiday Park
Advantages: Excellent for the kids
Disadvantages: Park was quite hilly
...In May we went to Havens Warmwell holiday park, near Weymouth, for a midweek break (mon-fri). At Warmwell all the accommodation is in lodges. We had no idea what to expect as we've never been on a holiday like this before (my hubby is strictly an abroad man!). We've got 2 children so really needed a lodge with 3 bedrooms.
To get a silver lodge with 3 rooms it cost us £126. You get discounts for children under 5 (£10 for a midweek break and £20 for a full week, for each child). You also get discounts for over 55's (same as childrens) and as my mum came with us we got that one aswell! My hubby works for John Lewis and so we got another discount through them and I think another discount for booking early!! Any more discounts and they would be paying us to go there!!
Anyway we arrived at Warmwell (very easy to find, not much else in...

Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks
Advantages: Great Site and location
Disadvantages: Evening entertainment - no good
...Stayed here earlier this year, with my two young children. Who loved the place. The caravan was basic, but adequate. It was clean, had all the things we needed, did'nt find the black out blinds on the bedrroms until the last night!!!!
The decking on the caravan was great, was able to sit out there and enjoy the view.
There was a double decker bus that ran around the sites, and Woolacombe, but did cost a few pounds.
The shop on site was well packed, and the shop keeper was friendly and always helpful - apart from being on duty 24hours a day.
The evening entertainment, was well worth missing, I have heard cats whale better.
The play park was good, plenty of toys to play on, but the ground surface needs some attention.
Check in was simple and easy. Parking for our carvan was down a grassy bank, ok in the dry....
