Advantages: Cheap food,drink,cigarettes & Great 4 watersports
Disadvantages: Do not stay in Playa de las americes if u want quiet a holiday

...When I mention Tenerife as an ideal Holiday people quite often frown. I think that this is due to the fact that everyone imagines Tenerife as consisting of one town Playa De Las Americas. Most people see this town as full of lager louts and to be honest of a night time they are right. Tenerife however is more than Veronica's party strip. Los Cristianos is just 5 mins away from Playa de las Americas. This op is going to be more of a general overview of Tenerife itself but obviously with a few recommendations. With an all year climate temperatures in May to October, can reach 30 degrees and in the winter a gentle but pleasant 18 degrees. General retail prices are cheaper than the UK especially cigarettes and alcohol. Use a high factor sun cream, sun hat and take something to cover up with. You can burn in ten minutes...

Apartment Complex in Tenerife

Advantages: Clean and spacious apartments.
Disadvantages: Too noisy and packed around the hotel area especially around the pool.

...and noisy in the day and in the evening. There were, also, some complaints from other people that there were too many teenagers messing around and being a nuisance in the evening times when the cabaret was usually on. Also, there are in high season lots of young groups of boys and girls (ages of 17 - 21) on holiday on their own staying at this hotel, because it is within a ten minute walk to the noisy resort of Playa d'las Americas. It does get quiet after around 1am around the hotel area, as the entertainment finishes and the management were strict on keeping the noise down. The hotel did have a kids club and some entertainment and competitions for the adults throughout the day, which was very good. We booked this as a package deal with Thomas Cook Holidays and we paid for a two bed apartment for two adults and two children £1885...

A must visit attraction if you holiday on Tenerife

Advantages: The cleanest animal park you will ever visit
Disadvantages: May be difficult for people with limited mobility

...Loro Parque is an amazing animal park. Quite simply I do not know where to start - there is so much that can be said. I am going to concentrate on the highlights of the day as there is too much to put in a single review. I hope I cover the main attractions and that you may decide to visit after reading. We visited as part of an organised excursion with our holiday company. The visit was expensive. But, after a day at Loro Parque we decided the entry fee was more than worth it. ...My boyfriend and I visited this hotel last summer, having gotten a bargain price through Travel Republic. I think we paid around £150 for the room for the week, which was a good price for a four star hotel in Costa Adeje, one of Tenerife's more family and couple based upmarket resorts. When we arrived it all looked fairly posistive - the reception area was clean and spacious if a little dated and the welcome we received was nice if a little brusque. This became clearly the way staff talked to guests - they bordered on rude at times in spite of our efforts to speak Spanish to them because of their limited English. Tenerife..Paradise Found

Advantages: Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants near by.
Disadvantages: Can be a little noisy if you are near the Varonicas centre.

Tenerife - The Good The Bad and The Ugly

Advantages: Spectacular and unusual scenery. Duty-free
Disadvantages: Large resorts are lager-lout territory.

...We went to Puerto de Santiago/Los Gigantes, which is northwest of the two most ?popular? resorts, Playa de las Americas & Los Cristianos - muchos Ingleses! These two, in my view, are awful, and visitors going there for the first time expecting something with a foreign feel will be disappointed by the usual rash of "See Leeds v Barcelona live tonite on Sky" cafes and bars. What they do have is beaches. It?s not just us either. The Germans are catered for in a similar way. I suppose Tenerife is like the best and the worst of southern Spain in that respect. Los Christianos does have one saving grace - it?s the ferry port to La Gomera, one of the other islands, which makes for a fascinating day out in itself. Advantages: Quality, Family Friendly Hotel
Disadvantages: Non really, just needs to sort out the sunbed situation

....50 for a set of headphones. TIP---take two sets of personal stereo headphones and place the jack plugs in each socket, you will then have 1 working earphone from each set to go in each ear. The package holiday is comming to a close as they are out pricing themselves, this is why it is cheeper to book the flights and the hotel on-line or through a travel agent saving loads. I paid around £1800 for the flights, and the hotel with breakfast and dinner included.This was for two rooms, consisting of a family of 4 adults and an 8 year old. There are plenty of places in Tenerife south airport to hire a car for around £140.00 for the week, and the fuel is around 80p per litre. We opted for a cab costing 21 Euros (£14.00) for the tewnty minuite ride into Playa De Las Americas. This avoided looking for a rep, sat on a hot, stuffy coach untill everyone...
