...Bell's Beer Home Brew Blog (at http://bellsbeer.wordpress.com ) is a really interesting and useful resource for the amateur home brewer. There are extremely regular posts (several times a week) which means there is always something knew to read when you decide to take a look. The RSS feed is brilliant for being able to keep up to date. There a a large number of photos included with the posts, which is both athetically pleasing, and useful. The posts are also very detailed, explaining exactly what was done. In addition to just reports on Bell's beer and wine, he also undertakes numerous interesting experiments and mini-projects, such as how to attach and remove bottle labels, and the conversion of a cupboard under the stairs into a brewery. Ahm nae crabbit with Crabbie's Original Alcoholic Ginger Beer*

Would it resemble an alcoholic version of the soft drink a bit like a grown up alcopop or would it more closely resemble beer. I have tried some real ales that use ginger to a lesser or greater extent in the brewing process to give he beer a more interesting flavour. It is hard to distinguish the 500 ml bottle from a real ale bottle. It shrieks tradition and a bit of Scottish tweeness with the thistle logo on the neck of the bottle. I open the top and then take a good sniff of the contents. It certainly is as ginger as Chris Evans and Geri Halliwell's love child . There are no hoppy scents making me believe this is not a beery beer! I served it straight from the fridge...

The New Carlisle United Home Kit (07/08)

...Released for the 07/08 this Carlisle United home kit features a slightly different design to previous kits. Carlisle United, a club associated with Blue as their colours have had a plain blue top (not including sleeves or trim here) for around the last 5, 6 years, but this new kit, made by Le cog Sportif took a slightly different approach. This kit features three colours, With a blue area on the left, with white next to that and with the red trim (its an extended trim) on the right hand side. These sections are cut diagonally and run all the way down into the shorts aswell. The sleeves are blue. The kit therefore is not Symettrical colour wise like most kits, but personally I think it looks great. Banana? Tick! Beer? Tick! Bread?...um

Advantages: Yummy, beer, yum, banana...ooo 1 of your 5 a day!
Disadvantages: um, fattening

..., and a beer, oooh I know, I'll have a banana beer'. I regard this beer as being more gimmicky, in my opinion, but definitely deserving of praise. I don't normally like fruity beers, but I'm prepared to make an exception with this. Wells have brewed this concoction with an alcohol content of 5.2%, it's relatively mild in strength. I brought this beer of banananess from Tesco for £1.60, and that was for a 500ml bottle (which is rather attractive in shape). Bargain! If you try this, have a good'un.
