...I brought my set of tannoys 15 months ago and, at the time,they cost £300.Now,with a little searching around,they can be obtained for under £200. What you get in the box is five satellite speakers(two front,two rear and a centre speaker) plus a seperate powered subwoofer. You also get wall mounted supports for the two front and two rear speakers and all the speaker cables(i changed the cables to 79 stand q.e.d. speaker cable to improve the sound). Setting up the system is relatively easy:you just need an electric drill for the the wall mounted stands and once fitted,you just connect the cables to your home cinema amp. Easy!! Once you have connected everything,it is time to try out the system. My first reaction and i am sure yours will be the same was one of complete disbelief!! Don't Tust the 5.1 on this system

Advantages: Easy setup, simple controls
Disadvantages: Very low output volume on 5.1 setup, completely unbalanced audio

...The speaker look very nice but looks mean very little on a speaker system. The system is relatively easy to setup with the usual 3 jack plugs used on most PC analogue 5.1 surround sound systems. You have the usual routing of the five speaker cables to take care of which plug into the rear of the control unit. The rear speakers have plenty of cable length to use when positioning the where desired. There is also a large, unique lead that connects the sub to the control unit which is also easily attached. The system comes with a rather bulky power supply that could have been neatly tucked away in the sub box, therefore only requiring a figure 8 power cable to do the powering up side of things but this is, after all, a budget system. Creative Inspire 5.1 sound system

Advantages: Quality sound for a low price
Disadvantages: Short rear speaker cables

...are too short, you can buy extension leads but it would have be nice if Creative just made them only a meter or two longer, this is a common problem in all surround systems I've encountered, everything else is perfect. A sound card or onboard audio with 5.1 sound option is required to take full advantage of the system but thats becoming a standard now on most devices. I use my PC for everything from movies, music, and games and I'm completely satisfied and have been for the past three years, when or if they break down then I'll upgrade. The system can be bought for about £35, they seem pretty rare now, looks like they've been replaced by newer versions. Best bet is to keep an eye out for them on ebay....

It is very easy in use and to do it press rec button on your remote controller. DVD reader works perfectly and reads most of DVD's within 2-5 seconds. Since I have it, did not happen to jam or image to freeze when watching movie. Works as it should. Altogether LG HT353SD is a good Home Cinema System for a reasonable price. It is not easy to find another set with competitive properties for such a price. It is a bargain I would say. I can recommend it to anyone as it is a good product and is worth recommendation. Home cinema disappointment

Advantages: Ease of controls, smart black speakers and player with blue light, good quality sound.
Disadvantages: Home cinema deliverance limited unless using a DVD.

...Having finally said goodbye to an old DVD player and separate CD and radio player, we decided to opt for the home cinema system from Samsung. Having already recently purchased a Samsung TV which we were very pleased with the value for money of the Samsung Home Cinema TZ215 tempted us to carry on with the brand. I hate to admit that in my opinion I am disappointed in the 'home cinema' aspect in that I expected more and now having read the other reviews wonder if I actually connected it up properly, but we have checked everything and all seems ok. Firstly, with four tall speakers dotted correctly around the room and set up as per the instruction manual for distance etc, I was disappointed in that the four all do not work at the same time. If you have a film with thunder or a loud crash, yes you get the effect (and the cat jumps!) but...

...This is my parents' telly. It has proved great for having friends over to watch dvds. We don't actually have a dvd player so we connect up our laptops to the computer using the ports provided & our own leads for connecting a monitor to a computer & sound speakers. Theres a way around anything these days. It works great. Its like being in a cinema in fact. It is our new main home t.v. - mostly because our old one had just packed in & my dad believes you should always spend as much as possible on new stuff (hmm.. yeh, ok dad). This is our first plasma. It was fairly easy to set up & use, although I admit I left the setting up to dad. But he's famous for technical disasters so that must be a good thing. ...I tested this out in shop and it sounded excellent. I bought it and it sounds 10 times better in my lounge. The 1000 watts power fills room with clear powerful sound. The music special fx and speech is crystal clear. It has a whisper mode so even at lower volumes the sound is perfect. This is a blu ray player and picture quality is beautiful. It will also up grade old dvds to higher quality. This is true they are better pictures but not that much different. The best aspect of this system is ability to create blu ray quality sound, it is true blu ray does have much improved sound quality and this system can recreate it. It also has an ipod interface....

A headset that offers true 5.1 sound.

Advantages: True 5.1 surround sound, clear quality, built in mic.
Disadvantages: Not very durable and breaks easily.

...Theres not many headsets out there that can say they have full 5.1 surround sound. The medusa 5.1 pulls this off very well and is a fantastic headset for gaming. Let me start of with the packaging. The headset is wonderfully packaged inside the box. Complete with soft lining and ribbon to finnish. A nice surprise. It comes with all the cables that you need, and more that I couldn't work out what they were for. Set up was a little tricky and the manual that it came with wasn't the most helpful. After about an hour or so of fiddling with the cables and doing sound checks I managed to get the 5.1 working, including the microhpone. The quality you get from the headphones is great. Crisp sounds and a decent level of volume. Obviously the 5.1 isn't as distinguished as a full set of surround sound speakers will ever be, but it does...
