Advantages: Perhaps good for a total replacement
Disadvantages: Expensive - better to put the money away somewhere.

Having read plenty of Coverplan reviews I thought I should document my experiences with Coverplan. I bought a Beko 14" CRT TV with an integrated DVD player for £74.99 from Currys in December 2004 for my granddaughter's birthday. As the T.V. was going to be in a child's bedroom I decided to pay £25 for 3 years extended warranty. ...the DVD player didn't work any more, so I immediately took the T.V. to Currys. It was a Sunday and they phoned the Coverplan help line for me, to be told that the T.V. would be written off as the DVD is not worth repairing. I was told to ring back during the week to make the claim myself and take the T.V. home with me. Disadvantages: Unhelpful customer 'service' staff

A couple of weeks ago i stood on the toilet pan to reach for something, the pan tipped over leaving the pipes in place but me and the pan on the floor! The water went through to the celing below causing it to crack on the plasterboard joints. I called the insurance who said they would ring me back...no...when I rang back they said they would ring me the next day. They arranged for an assessor to come out 2 days later but i asked were they aware ...

...are still competitive. Of course Direct Line don't appear on these sites but I usually take some time to check them out as I used to be a customer. They just appear to be getting more expensive relative to the market every year, it's no wonder they don't get involved with price comparison sites and try to suggest comparison sites are a bad idea in some of the Direct Line ads. Norwich Union are one of the biggest, if not the biggest home insurers, I have not reviewed an insurance company before, maybe it is because making a review on insurance interesting is nigh on impossible which it probably is, after all insurance is what actuaries do when they need a thrill.
