...Since I have been insured with More Th>n insurance for 2 years now I think I it's about time I wrote a review about them and their services. Why choose More Th>n Since I am a motor customer they where my first point of contact when my home insurance was due for renewal. I had always been happy with them when dealing with my car insurance and I thought it would be better if I had my insurances with the same company. In addition to that they offered some good benefits and also gave me enough cover for what I needed. More Than Home Insurance.

...Home insurance really is one of those things that everyone hates having to pay for..... but of course it's 100% necessary and you don't want to get stuck without it. This review is suitably timed for me. My grandparents who live in a very old house in Nottinghamshire have just literally just experienced a fire in their out sheds (my Grandad keeps old cars). Halifax Home Insurance delivered on their promises

Advantages: cheap, lightening fast turnaround, excellent customer service

...I have only had Halifax home contents insurance for 8 months and I took it out because they were offering the best deal at the time. I pay £180 per year and that includes accidental damage, personal belongings while away from the home and with a £50 excess. I spilt something on my antiquated computer the other day and gave them a call. I made the phone call on Wednesday evening and received a phone call on Thursday morning as promised by the people who were going to come out and "inspect" and possibly repair my PC. The website was fairly easy to navigate and the form relatively easy to complete. Advantages: Great service, option to include home emergency at a reasonable cost.

Well, a couple of weeks ago on a sat evening i was getting ready to go out when i noticed in the dining room a wet patch on the ceiling. Disadvantages: Will not pay for water damage full stop!

...On returning from our family holiday we were greeted by a neighbour that was looking after our home. She informed us that there were extreme weather conditions and we had suffered a leak to our bay window flat roof. Our neighbour to her credit had minimised much surrounding damage as she could. Nevertheless the laminate flooring was damage and the ceiling had sagged considerably as a result of the rainwater. We are insured via St Andrews Insurance PLC who is actually also Halifax. They sent someone to assess the extend of damage and on concluding this arranged to send someone to take samples of the Artex on the ceiling as some ceiling textures used asbestos. When the results came back they were found to be positive. There was a period of silence for about a week or more and when I contacted them to find out how the claim was progressing...

Natwest Home Insurance is fab

Advantages: Easy to set up and to claim

...Natwest home insurance are fabulous. Easy to set up and talk to, everything can be done by phone. The costs are actually quite good and the cover is excellent. Fortunately we haven't had to use it more than once, but when we did I must say I was impressed. We recently travelled to Cuba and on our return to Manchester airport after a 10 hour flight over night, my youngest son put down his bag whilst helping us get the luggage off the belt. You guessed it someone stole his bag. Now the airport were not much help and neither was the police, but i got it logged with both. After a week, hoping someone would hand it in, it still had not turned up, so i reported it stolen to the police and they suggested i phoned my contents insurance provider. We rang natwest who asked for the crime reference number, very few other details like...

Save a small fortune on home contents insurance

...AA Insurance on the internet has just done it again for me. Having saved several hundred pounds by using the AA rather than just renewing my buildings insurance with Lloyds TSB they have just saved me a further £300 on my home contents cover. It couldn't be easier - a few minutes on-line via www.virginmoney.com got me a range of insurance offers using a host of respected names and all at substantial savings over what I had presumed to be a fairly competitive package offerd by my own bank. You even get a discount for booking on-line. Don't just take my word for it, try it for yourself and see how much you can save. Motor insurance will be my next port of call when it comes up for renewal....

...Sitting a few weeks back and REALLY needed my house contents insurance ASAP. I had been sitting for about 2 days going through all sorts of companies to see which would give me a good quote. It was a nightmare.......... I was finding companies that were giving me excellent quotes only to find that there was no accidental damage included or the excess was really high or whatever. Select and Protect Home Insurance

Advantages: First class service
Disadvantages: Need to use Google to find one of their agents call back service.

...I had heard of this insurance company through a friend of mine who came back off holiday to find her terraced house flooded by a burst pipe. She had her home insurance with Select and Protect and phoned them with the news. They financed a new underground pipe to be put in place and paid for the replacement (new for old) of her damaged furniture etc. She was so pleased with their response, and especially the speed at which they reacted that she felt honour bound to recommend them. So i used them for my landlords insurance. Glad i did! A few months ago, the upstairs emmersion heater sprung a leak and emptied itself thought the living room ceiling and soaked anything in its path. I now have a new ceiling and carpets and my tenatns have new furniture and enjoyed two nights in a hotel while the house was dried out using dehumidifiers...
