Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007, slow but perfect.

Advantages: New look, good for beginners, easy to instal, more professional tools
Disadvantages: Slower then the old one, hard to find sertain things in the new menus

...When i first got the new office, i already loved how the case looked. Really stylish and professional. Even the DVD had a nice touch to its looks. The only thing bad about the case is that i had to figure out how to open it correctly. When i put the dvd into my computer, it didn't gave any errors (as to be expected) and it asked me if i wanted to run it, which i did. After the smooth installation (which took about +-10 minutes), i could start it up and i was blown away by the new looks of it. The only thing i was looking for in the first 5 minutes was how to save and load my files, but then i descovered that the new big button was the new file->load/save menu. Now, i've never really did alot more with office then making some nice Graphs with Exel and writing alot in the documents, but with the new Word you can do alot, just by...

Any one who has ever worked in an office environment can relate I think to the situations the actors find themselves in and probably have a similar story of their own as well. I think this is one of the reasons why it is so funny and became so successful. Great for Anybody and Everybody

Advantages: New UI, Good range of software, new file format, many styles to choose from
Disadvantages: Needs to download lots of hotfixes, need a windows pc to run ;)

...Whoever thought of giving people the chance to have a full office suite deserves a pat on the back. The way they give you 3 licenses which you can use around the house, means that this package works out at just £25 per license. This package includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Onenote, (software for notetaking and multi-user collaboration) all the kind of things that students and casual users need. I disagree with the other reviewers that not including outlook is a shortcoming, if you want to have a Microsoft email client, outlook express works well, but I find that something different, like Mozilla Thunderbird is better suited to my needs than Outlook. The new User Interface is excellent (though if you are used to Office 97-2003, it can be frustrating but after a while you will find it a lot easier to complete frequently used tasks...

It is not just an upgrade on an old idea but a complete overhaul of the system. Gone are the old menus and toolbars and in their place is a new feature called the Ribbon. Students are some of the most cash strapped people in society, and so often turned to pirate software as opposed to paying £200+ for some simple word processing programs, which is often all that is needed. This package is perfect for the casual software user. It contains Word, Excel and Powerpoint, all the programs that the average student, or casual home user, needs. Microsoft has also completely redesigned the layout of the programs, choosing an icon based selection process over drop down menus. There are several tabs along the top of the screen that houses the required icons.
