...Bose SoundDock Digital Music System I happened to get this as a gift and it turned out to be quiet interesting Summary: This dock is used mainly for ipod and allows you to connet mp3 players to it and listen to high quality music via speakers. It is idle for homes and small gatherings, although I would not run a party off these. Pros: This system has terrific sound and can go very load despite its relative small size. As with almost all Bose speakers the quality is amazing, so long as the source you are playing it from is high quality it will allow the speakers to each its potential. I have a surround sound Bose set up in one of my rooms but now prefer to use this product as it is very simple to operate. Just plug the mp3 player in and press play and your set. Can't get much simpler. It also runs off a wall...

...We bought this dvd/home theatre system from indexshop.co.uk at a price of £99.99. The player itself is quite small as dvd players go but is quite heavy for it's size.It comes with speakers: front left and right,rearleft and right,centre and subwoofer, it also incorporates a dolby 5.1 decoder. Connecting the speakers is very easy, all the terminals on the rear are marked with the appropriate speaker connections and are colour coded to match the colour code on the speaker cables.The hardest thing is deciding where to place the speakers. The manual is very good, describing both verbaly and graphically how to connect everything together .It will play dvd,mp3,cd-r and jpeg(kodak picture discs).It plays dvd-r too.It does all the usual things,angle selection(if you can find a dvd with multi-angle). ...management roles such as lighting and sound are controlled from. My Opinion Of The Marlowe I would certainly recommend a trip to the Marlowe Theatre if you are visiting Canterbury. The vast choice of shows means that there is literally something to suit everyones taste. Both the auditoriums are furnished to a high standard with comfortable seats and ample leg room for everyone to feel right at home while watching the shows. I have also eaten in the restaurant during my latest visit to the Marlowe and I found the restaurant to have plenty of choice on the menu, the staff were polite and the food was speedy and very tasty. In the restaurant, you have the choice of snack food, or a three course meal which suits most peoples tastes as you are still able to grab something to eat if you are in a rush. HOME CINEMA ON A BUDGET? TRY THESE.

Advantages: Small,unobtrusive satellite speakers.
Disadvantages: Not as good as larger speakers.

...I brought my set of tannoys 15 months ago and, at the time,they cost £300.Now,with a little searching around,they can be obtained for under £200. What you get in the box is five satellite speakers(two front,two rear and a centre speaker) plus a seperate powered subwoofer. You also get wall mounted supports for the two front and two rear speakers and all the speaker cables(i changed the cables to 79 stand q.e.d. speaker cable to improve the sound). Setting up the system is relatively easy:you just need an electric drill for the the wall mounted stands and once fitted,you just connect the cables to your home cinema amp. Easy!! Once you have connected everything,it is time to try out the system. My first reaction and i am sure yours will be the same was one of complete disbelief!! The sound quality for such small speakers...

Disadvantages: Those hard seats, do not forget the cushions.

A TV that delivers a home theatre experience.

Advantages: Elegant case, good connectivity, good hidden speakers
Disadvantages: I've got to upgrade my AV amplifier!

It was going to be free standing, so the first task was to assemble the stand, then attach it to the TV. The TV was surprisingly heavy as it came free off the box, and I laid it face down on strategically placed cushions while the stand was attached. Once again there is a comprehensive set of connections on this TV, but no DVI, the digital socket for computers, but I had aquired a DVI to HDMI cable, so I was set. If you use an AV amplifier, sound is taken from the TV by an optical cable. My old Sherwood amp doesn't support this, and the headphone jack did not carry the full signal to the speakers. ...professionally, it now plays without skipping. You just have to take good care of the DVDs I suppose. If you go to a shop like Dixons or Comet, remember one thing, these systems are more often than not set up on steel shelves and really do not demonstrate a systems abilities at all! I can assure you that if you are looking for a mid-price home theatre system, the DAV-C770 should be just right for almost everyone. Philips HTS3154 DVD Home Theatre System

Advantages: USB and DivX playback support
Disadvantages: Doesn't support U3 or very large hard drives

...i have had this Home Cinema DVD player for over a year now and as far as i can tell there have been absolutely no problems with it. excellent all round DVD player, and has USB and DivX support which is brilliant as i watch a lot of films from my memory stick. One bad thing about the USB is that it doesn't support very large hard drives and U3 drives - anything which you need specific drivers for. The DVD player also has MP3 line-in which is very useful if you have an MP3 player which is not compatible with the USB, so you can just plug it in. One feature i found really good was that it remembers where you were last in your DVD, and that has come in very handy as I am always having to go and do something else. Overall an excellent Home Cinema DVD player, with some features that could be added....

...This home-theatre kit from Sony is first-rate in all key respects. The sound quality is excellent from the large sub-woofer and five tiny satellite speakers. The control box is neat and has the added bonus that it can be used upright or on its side .. the display can be turned through 90%. The build quality is as good as one would expect of Sony with all the speakers having a really solid feel and enough weight to avoid any annoying buzzing.
