Hollywood waxing - the home attempt!

Advantages: A lot cheaper than going to a salon; easy to use; very tidy
Disadvantages: Can be difficult to reach certain areas by yourself; needed reheating regularly

...Having recently discovered the joys of a full Hollywood wax and then discovering that I'd have to pay at least £30 to have this done every few weeks, I was chatting to my friend who suggested that we attempt to wax each other using the Smooth Appeal easy wax for the bikini area - it would save money and would be a good laugh as well. So last night, armed with a couple of bottles of wine, a microwave and a slow cooker (I'll explain later!), we decided to proceed. My friend started by waxing my bikini line at the top and we were both very impressed at how easy the wax went on, how quickly it hardened and how easy it was to peel off. We did struggle to work out how you could use this product by yourself, however, as it would require some impressive spine bending to be able to see what you were doing! ...House of Wax features a cast apparently chosen from their headshots rather than any particular ability or connection to the material. Loosely remade from the Vincent Price classic, Paris Hilton herself says this film's major improvement is that "The original didn't really have a hot cast." Says it all really !! Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, This is his 1st film that he has done. In my opinion he's done a good job. The main plot is a group of teenagers on a road trip to go see a football game the next game. Of course they have to camp out in the middle of know where. This is when strange things happen. Dax Wax leaves Trax!

Advantages: cheaper than most products, long lasting

...My first memory of Dax Wax - I had been with my partner for less than a month when I began to notice trails of stickiness on my pillows...greasy marks on my towel's and every surface around by room seemed to have a sweaty wet feel to it... No...it was all innocent - this is the trail that Dax wax leaves in it's wake! I had actually purchased this for my partner as it was cheap in a shop called QLM, only £1.69 for a full sized metal tub. As he's obsessed with his hair I thought I would treat him. He began using it almost immediately and found that it was surprisingly effective. As he had fairly long hair, most products were not much use, but Dax wax keeps its hold for much longer than most. In fact, it held his hair high all day long and soon became a firm favourite. I personally wasn't so keen on his using it as it left his hair...

Advantages: keeps your hair where you want it
Disadvantages: takes a while to get out of your hair

...I have tried using many different types of wax and creams for my hair. Such as Shock waves, fructis amongst others. The only wax that I have found to keep my hair in place and lock out moisture. It is essential that the product is used on short hair as it gives you a shiny waxy look; this would not be suitable for long hair, smooth styles or that dry look that you might get with a putty. This product is only meant to be used on dry hair. I think that it is best to but on hair that has just been dried of you leave your hair to cool, it hurts a little to place the wax in your hair (don't forget pain in beauty) This tin contains 3.5 oz or 99gm of wax. It comes in a round tin, which the lid is a little hard to get off. The packaging is a little dated but simple. I feel that the packaging does not reflect the contents...

Dax Wax Red

Advantages: Great hold - can last for ages, tub lasts for ages, cheap
Disadvantages: Can leave hair looking a little greasy if too much is used or if build up has occured

...BIG THUMBS UP FROM ME This product is the only thing that gets my very thick and wiry hair looking in any way stylish. I have tried the other Dax products, and the red variety is definitely the best for my hair. I use it after I have towel dried my hair thoroughly, rub a small amount onto my fingers and then work it through. It's quite solid wax, but it still allows you to shape it once it's in your hair. Rubbing it through your fingers first softens it up a little and means its easier to work with. As others have mentioned, the hold is tremendous, especially if you use tiny additional amounts on top of your original application to shape specific parts of your hair. GETTING IT OUT OF YOUR HANDS AND HAIR Now, I have heard many people talk about how hard it is to get out of your hands and hair. I almost stopped using it for that...

Now between them they've produced or directed some good movies. So why is it that all the films they've produced so far under this banner have pretty much sucked or been incredibly under-whelming? After such MTV-inspired dreck such as 13 Ghosts and Gothika we now get House of Wax. Carlisle United, a club associated with Blue as their colours have had a plain blue top (not including sleeves or trim here) for around the last 5, 6 years, but this new kit, made by Le cog Sportif took a slightly different approach. This kit features three colours, With a blue area on the left, with white next to that and with the red trim (its an extended trim) on the right hand side.
