...I have worked for myself now for over 18 years, and to be honest I wouldn't want to go back to a regular 9 to 5, but it certainly isn't easy earning a regular income. ...The Works is a discount bookstore which can be found on many high streets. I have browsed around a fair few discount bookstores, but have always found this store to be the best in it?s class. Overall, I tend to find that a lot of discount bookstores sell a lot of uninteresting titles, & books you?ve never heard of. The Works does also fall into this category, but seems to also sell more bestsellers than other stores (often current ones at that), covering a wide range of authors. Books are laid out according to genre & are for the most part stacked on shelves with the cover facing forwards, so that you can see at a glance what titles are in stock. The more popular fiction & bestsellers are laid out on tables at the front of the store, with reference books & childrens books being on shelves running down the sides & back of the store...

The Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 is very basically a package which you can load onto your computer, it contains Word 2007, Excel 2007, PowerPoint 2007 and OneNote 2007. It is the most basic package they do and is made for non comercial use only, I have to admit considering that it is a very basic package the price of it is rather excessive. Mine cost me £100 from the Comet in the Birmingham Bullring, but that was because I could show them...

Are you disciplined enough?

Advantages: No travel, relaxed atmosphere, less stress, more control
Disadvantages: Isolation, no employer pension contributions, no sick or holiday pay

...I have been working at home part time for the last 2 years, full time for the last 3 months. I gave up my full time job at the end of May and opted for working from home, my stress levels at work were through the roof, commuting was a pain (even when I walked to work I got tired of it in the freezing winter) and I just felt unappreciated and underpaid. To get the money I wanted I would have had to work in the city, or private clinic and they wanted blood out of me to earn it. So, slowly I moved to working at home, I am by profession a Medical Secretary, but with a rather good IT background also. I work for 3 companies now, transcribing medico-legal reports, clinic letters (occasionally I do non medical, transribing interviews and focus groups etc.). I am doing quite well - at least holding onto the salary i'm used to...
