...You may have read about my useless car which I wrote about some time ago. Well a few months ago I finally got rid of my MGTF and bought myself a decent car instead. I use the word 'decent' to describe the build quality of my new car and not as a comparison in design, handling, and features etc. I realise that a direct comparison is impossible as the 2 cars are completely different both in terms of the type of person they are aimed at and the uses to which they would be put to. Advantages: It's fast, superb gear change, rides and handles well
Disadvantages: Tiring engine, lots of gear changing, high CO2

...This is not an easy review for me to write. I am going to come clean in the first place and state that after thirteen months and 32,000 miles I know the latest model Honda Accord?..let's say intimately?.. ?but not, fortunately as it turns out, this "hot rod" 2.4 cylinder petrol version. Hondas first Diesel -Accord CDTi

Advantages: quiet, roomy, comfortable, reliable, stylish and sturdy, reasonable running costs and a beautiful car to drive
Disadvantages: need to switch engine on to move the seats, only one reverse light (I prefer two stylistically)

...I purchased my Honda Diesel in April of this year (2004) so have owned one for approximately 6 months. The car I bought was an ex demonstrator with about 3000 miles on the clock (nearly new rather than brand spanking new). There really is so much to say about this car. The big thing that I noticed very early on is its quiet, Honda have done away with the annoying piston slap that makes diesels so noisy, so the engine is exceedingly quiet, quieter in fact that our previous Accord Coupe engine. The engine makes a pleasant low whistling sound which is almost the only noise audible to let you know the engine is running. In some respects you could say the engine is too quiet as when I first started driving it I found ?reading the engine? from its noise very difficult which did lead to a slight increase in stalling, but this is also...

The Honda Accord, I recon, is one of the best cars to be had from this era and price. This model of Accord is a 2.0 16v multipoint injection, single overhead cam, (operating all the 16 valves), PGM-FI engine. First impressions of the car (depending on what you?ve been used to), can be a bit on the boring looking side. Fords rattle, Rovers fall apart, and Mercedes were cramped and not good for a growing family. I wont go into the technical stuff here, get your self a brouchure from a garage for the facts and figures, but i will tell you about my experince. ********** I have had feedback on this Op surgesting that I do put in the tech stuff. And of course, I am always happy to comply !!!! Honda accord type S.. 2.4 litre, 4 cylinder in-line all aluminium DOHC i-VTEC engine (that means, Duel Over Head Cam and Variable valve Timing and Electronic lift Control, apparently). Producing 190 bhp with a top (limited) speed of 142mph. 0-60 comes arround in 7.9 secs, but as I have said, the time is less than this for sure (one day i will check it out with a stop watch). The gear box is 6 speed, so get used to changing...

Honda Accord - Coupe 2.0 ils

Advantages: Safe, Reliable, Handles well and looks good too
Disadvantages: only two doors so can be an issue if you have tall friends

...I owned a Honda Accord Coupe for 6 years and had no problems with it at all, the servicing was at reasonable cost and very little major work needed doing, in fact when the battery went after 10 years service it was a "shock" that something needed to be purchased. The car is also exceedingly safe, I say this as I walked away with no injuries from a crash where a dumper trick hit me side on, on a roundabout. (He was doing about 40 miles an hour at the time). The car really did protect and more to the point survived the crash with "relatively minor" damage, even the police (themselves Honda owners were impressed by the cars sturdiness). So it is a car to feel safe in. If there was one thing that I would have loved to have been included in our model its air conditioning, as we got a tad hot driving round Europe, that said the car did...
