Honda Civic Type-R (2005)

Advantages: Speed, Handling, Engine Note, i-Vtec
Disadvantages: Old looks, Sometimes harsh ride

...I have owned a Honda Civic Type R (2005 Model) for around six months now. I had many concerns about the car before buying it, however not one of these concerns still hangs over my ownership. I chose to buy a red example, but this is personal preference. I was concerned about the road noise of the car, given the stiff suspension and low profile tyres, as I do a fair amount of motorway miles. So far, I've barely noticed. I don't find the road noise too intrusive, only on the most harsh of road surfaces. Even then, the sweet engine note is more than enough compensation. The hard suspension is a bit of an issue over speed bumps - not to the point that you hear bottoming out noises, but it will certainly throw you around if you don't slow down. The low-set stance of the car has also caused me to scrape my front splitter (lower bumper...

Honda Civic

Advantages: Good built, reliability, smooth ride, good economy, funky interior
Disadvantages: Have'nt found any

...In my family we have 4 cars, 3 of which are hondas, two of them are Civic's, they really are that good! I often am a skeptic when it comes to people telling me such things. I bought my civic 5 months ago, 2nd hand from a local dealer, the car is 5 years old and had 69000 miles on the clock. Even so, I knew that Honda cars are built to last. Its the way they engineer the cars - quality and lots of it. The car its self has given me no problems what so ever. It is a very smooth ride, and offers excellent fuel economy without comprising on other areas. It is a very powerful car and as such I wouldnt recommend it for drivers you have just passed there tests (plus the insurance for first time drivers is substantial There is ample boot space and if you fold the seats (60/40 split) you could easily go camping. Or fit several...

HONDA CIVIC Type R 2003

Advantages: Speed, looks, 6000revs, and space
Disadvantages: Pricy on Insurance and Petrol

...WAW.... Well i finally have my Honda civic Type R. I was lucky to get the leather interior and aircon and cd changer which is always nice to have. Its GREAT, i was a little worried about the gears but that has seemed to be one of the best things about it. its close to the steering wheel and its just feels right. This car is for people who want to have a reliable fast car. ok im not saying that its going to blow your socks off but its quick enough to have a little fun. everything about the car is great, the looks, the feel and the sound grat. And its true what they say, it always puts a smile on your face when you reach 6000 revs and let the type R go. even talking about it puts a smile on my face its great, now i know what you probably thinking, that this dude is forver saying GREAT but guess what it really is. now...

Honda Civic Coupe real review

Advantages: Large boot, handles well
Disadvantages: Expensive insurance, expensive running costs, expensive parts and servicing and awful fuel economy

...I've got one of the limited edition "Black Magic" Honda Civic DX Coupes -made in America, although it is sold as an official UK car and is UK spec right hand drive. Mine is a 1.5 litre (1493cc) 4-speed auto model with the standard fuel injected SOHC (non-VTEC) D15B7 engine and produces 102bhp. Good bits first: The car certainly looks the part, long and sleek, with a nice black paint scheme with a hint of gold when the sun hits it and good looking six spoke Honda alloys. The 15" tyres fit the car well and don't look ridiculous like some of the huge rims you see on cars nowadays. The car handles well - it feels very light and nippy and certainly brakes quickly enough. The power assisted steering makes manoeuvring the car a breeze and results in a nice quick turning circle without needing iron man muscles to fight the wheel. My...

Honda Civic Type R 30th Anniversary Edition

Advantages: Performance, Price, Handling, Practicality
Disadvantages: Engine needs to be worked to get performance, lack of gadgets

...Honda announced this limited edition model to commemorate 30 years of the Civic model in production. As a UK model it was restricted to 300 examples: 100 Red, 100 Black, 100 Silver. I was fortunate enough to order one back in October 2002 in Silver for early 2003 delivery. The Type R in standard guise became something of a cult vehicle to many performance car enthuisiasts. This was mainly due to it's normally aspirated engine producing 200bhp (197 according to manufacturers figures), race car handling and a VFM price tag. However producing a limited edition was something of a masterstroke by Honda's marketing department, because virtually every example found a home well before they were officially advertised, mine included. To make this car that little bit special, Honda added red Alcantara Recaro seats, a leather MOMO...

Holy Honda it's a Civic!

Advantages: Fresh, economical, it's a Honda with legendary reliability!
Disadvantages: Rear window, motorway road noise, 'plasticky' body parts

...Brand new Civic 2007, correct as of 05/08/2007 My gard... a Honda Civic not aimed at the old fogeys of middle class England? This is a car worth checking out. As a test I actually took this car and showed it to a few senior citizens who themselves own Hondas, mainly the Honda ?mid-life crisis? 4x4 CR-V. I am happy to report that after 3 hours of speculating and afternoon napping, they did not like it at all. That, therefore, means that this car is officially cool. I got this car because the Type-R was way more expensive, was in a higher insurance group and costed more to pay tax for to be on the road. The car I have here is the 5 door 1.8l i-VTEC ES version, not the SE. Let?s face it, although SE costs around £1000 less, it has much less in features and doesn?t have the glass roof! SE doesn?t have cruise control as standard, it...

Holy Honda! Its ur Civic duty to ride dis beast!

Advantages: It is a car, so it can take you places
Disadvantages: When it runs out of petrol, you have to top it up

...Before reading= Seeing has there is no place here for the Honda Civic 1.8 ES 6 speed manual 5 door model, I have no choice but to put this here in the SE model panel. The SE and ES models are virtually identical, except that the ES has more stuff thrown into it as standard, and its cooler. This is a review of the car itself. Honda's customer service is pretty average, but as it's not exceedingly bad, I have no complaints. = A ferociously angular beast, a car with styling akin to a sci-fi convention nerd's idea of a futuristic vehicle, this is a car that has the task of making Hondas hip for those of a younger disposition. Plus, it's made in Swindon. Does it succeed? No. Hondas are known for their reliability, thus their reputation has made them synonymous...

Honda Civic

Advantages: Fuel economy, performance, accommodation, dealer friendliness.
Disadvantages: Minor niggles, servicing cost can be high, rattles.

...We bought our Honda Civic 1.5i VTEC-E in 1997 when it was 7 months old, but just had delivery mileage. Our local Perth dealer (Weir Honda) were offering what was a nearly new car with around £1500 off the new price. We knew from looking at comparative prices that this was a good deal and managed to get mudflaps and carpet mats fitted as well. Broadly the experience has been very good - the dealer has been helpful in sorting out several minor problems. These were rattle in top end of the engine (a minor adjustment), a missing jacking point on the rear nearside, a silencer which gave out after 2 years' use, squeaky ventilation fan and a stuck sunroof (x2). None of these prevented the car from running and all were fixed free of charge. In the case of the silncer they really did not have to do this but decided to offer a replacement ex...

Honda civic 1.6 sport - a good buy.

Advantages: Looks, reliability, performance, economy
Disadvantages: some little niggles (see text)

...The 1.6 civic sport is now the second civic I've owned from new and there are a number of reasons why I've stayed faithful to the Honda brand. Honda engines are very reliable and I have yet to have any problems in this regard. Moreover, the dealers are generally easily accessible and most offer a relatively high level of customer service throughout - whether your car's in for a service or just a new set of wiper blades. The 1.6 engine, as well as being reliable is also economical. I drive the car pretty hard and it still returns in the region of 32 mpg which is pretty good going. Less 'spirited' driving returns an mpg closer to 36. A full tank of petrol comes in at around £35.00 for me and that's at around 85p per litre. I've had the car 9 months now and it's covered around 14k miles. In this time it's had its first service at 12...

WELCOME TO THE STAR SHIP CIVIC

Advantages: Genuinely Different. Economical. Spacious. Very Well Equipped. Great to Drive. Feel Good Factor.
Disadvantages: Visibility is Compromised. Some Just Will Not Like it!

...WHAT IS IT? It's a Honda Jim, but not as we know it?? ??welcome, to the Star Ship Civic! The Honda Civic, since launch back in the annals of history, ok I was 11 years old at the time, has consistently been one of the world's biggest selling cars. When originally launched it proved to be a phenomenal "from nothing" hit for the Japanese manufacturer, only at that stage renowned for motor bikes and cars with tiny 600cc engines. Honda got it right first time with the Civic, peppy engines, neat contemporary, if rather Japanese, styling, and, as was the norm for far eastern cars - only Japanese then - it was far better equipped than its cheap and not so cheerful British competitors, such as the Austin Allegro. That car, you may remember, had no hatchback but a square steering wheel as novelty compensation. The small "supermini...
