Sitting in the corner covered in muck was a Breeze blue Corsa. The state of the car did not bother me, as I knew it would clean up nice because after all it was only 6-7 months old. ...I have recently purchased a car from a Honda dealership in Inverness, part of the Macrea and Dick chain and thought I would share my experience with you. The car review is else where on the site. First impressions... I started off as most of us do at the car dealers, walking round the forecourt looking at the cars, peering in the windows and wishing i had more money!!! At other garages i have visited lately, i would have been jumped on the moment i got out of my car to look round, not here though. There were of course salesmen keeping an eye on me from inside the building, but i was allowed the time to look about and talk with the girlfriend about what we liked and so on. Honda Civic

Advantages: Fuel economy, performance, accommodation, dealer friendliness.
Disadvantages: Minor niggles, servicing cost can be high, rattles.

Our local Perth dealer (Weir Honda) were offering what was a nearly new car with around £1500 off the new price. We knew from looking at comparative prices that this was a good deal and managed to get mudflaps and carpet mats fitted as well. Broadly the experience has been very good - the dealer has been helpful in sorting out several minor problems. These were rattle in top end of the engine (a minor adjustment), a missing jacking point on the rear nearside, a silencer which gave out after 2 years' use, squeaky ventilation fan and a stuck sunroof (x2). ...any attempt made to drive the little Jazz economically, indeed, as with any other small engined (below 1.6 litre) automatic gearbox car that I have ever driven, I was conscious of driving it really rather hard. Over that demanding, but highly representative 60 miles, this particular Jazz achieved a fuel consumption of 43mpg. Admittedly, in the last Jazz driven, I recorded 52mpg, but that was a 1.2 litre manual gearbox car which had a very gentle 60mph motorway run out to Windsor and back. ...Just to clear a few things up from previous review. MK II Honda CRX is NOT a boy racer car at all. The majority of UK owned MK II's are owned by enthusiasts from the owners club and are taken complete care of regardless of cost . I spent £500 on mine just last month, no not on neon lights and a body kit. New clutch, new discs and calipers, new exhaust (Standard), CV boots and Tax. I fitted all the parts myself as Honda's labour charges are ridiculous and I don't trust anybody else It's an excellent car though. ...I would not think of Honda when it comes to 4 X 4 jeep type off roaders. Landrover,Suzuki and Chrysler Jeep yes! it now seems every motor manufacturer wants to jump on the offroad bandwagon and build a 4 x 4. But the Honda CRV is a nice little car as well as an off roader. I compare it to the Rav 4 and BMW or Mercedes offering. Special edition models of popular cars usually add a number of extra equipment items for little extra cost and that's exactly what Honda offers with its HR-V 'Special Edition'. Honda civic 1.6 sport - a good buy.

Advantages: Looks, reliability, performance, economy

...The 1.6 civic sport is now the second civic I've owned from new and there are a number of reasons why I've stayed faithful to the Honda brand. Honda engines are very reliable and I have yet to have any problems in this regard. Moreover, the dealers are generally easily accessible and most offer a relatively high level of customer service throughout - whether your car's in for a service or just a new set of wiper blades. The 1.6 engine, as well as being reliable is also economical. I drive the car pretty hard and it still returns in the region of 32 mpg which is pretty good going. Less 'spirited' driving returns an mpg closer to 36. A full tank of petrol comes in at around £35.00 for me and that's at around 85p per litre. I've had the car 9 months now and it's covered around 14k miles. In this time it's had its first service at 12...

Advantages: Good reliable and well designed cars on the whole...
Disadvantages: Dodgy dealers (varies from place to place). There is only normally one franchised dealer in most towns outside London. This means that the dealers get away with a lot!!!

...I have been a Honda driver for many years and have found that the cars are on the whole very reliable. However, I have to say that I have never been too happy with the dealer network. One draw back is that most towns have only one approved Honda dealer that monopolises the area. This often means that they can get away with bad service as consumers in the local area have little choice. Especially if they want to maintain their warranty. You will be treated fairly well on your first few service visits when you buy a car from them (especially if it is a new car). I recently had a "level 4" service done at DeVries Honda in Hull. This costs GBP 200. Not too cheap but it was the top level service that on paper seemed to check, replace, adjust, and clean a whole load of stuff. Part of the service should include replacing the spark plugs...

Honda Civic

Advantages: Good built, reliability, smooth ride, good economy, funky interior

...In my family we have 4 cars, 3 of which are hondas, two of them are Civic's, they really are that good! I often am a skeptic when it comes to people telling me such things. I bought my civic 5 months ago, 2nd hand from a local dealer, the car is 5 years old and had 69000 miles on the clock. Even so, I knew that Honda cars are built to last. Its the way they engineer the cars - quality and lots of it. The car its self has given me no problems what so ever. It is a very smooth ride, and offers excellent fuel economy without comprising on other areas. It is a very powerful car and as such I wouldnt recommend it for drivers you have just passed there tests (plus the insurance for first time drivers is substantial There is ample boot space and if you fold the seats (60/40 split) you could easily go camping. Honda Heat

...I am new to this site... so bare with me while I write my first opinion! I bought my first Honda two years ago because my fiance made me buy it(he owns a 1991 Honda Civic).I never ever wanted to drive a Honda, but I am so glad I did. This little 4 cylinder can get up and go! My personal experience with our Hondas are... they are the most durable and reliable vehicles we have ever owned. I have owned mine for two years now, and haven't had one problem with it! Except the usual maintenance like tires and brakes...things of that nature. The parts on our Hondas seem to out last any other vehicles parts we have previously owned, and let me tell you it is very nice to know...when you you have somewhere important to be... you will definitely make it there in your Honda! I only know of one negative to owning a Honda...the parts are a tad...
