Noughts and Cross ~ by Malorie Blackman
Advantages: Gripping, adventurous, highly-topical
Disadvantages: -None-
...I was advised by my English teacher to get the book 'Noughts and Crosses, by Malorie Blackman'. After reading the short World Book Day book she gave me, entitled 'Eye for an eye', I couldn't resist and so bought this book.
I began reading immediately, and, to the dismay of my popular computing / internet magazines, Noughts and Crosses somewhat over-ruled my bedtime reading! It was incredibly gripping, and I just couldn't put it down!
After the initial prologue, the main part of the story is told from the perspectives of both Sephy and Callum in an alternating fashion. This is interesting, as it gives perspectives not just from the narrator, but from the people themselves - both Sephy and Callum.
The central topic is racism. As one can see from the colours and layout of the book's cover, the story is a fierce ongoing struggle...

All about Malorie Blackmans
Advantages: Some info on the writer of Noughts & Crosses
Disadvantages: Bit borin
...I usually shy away from English authors, I don't know why but they don't have the same style as American authors. This is only my opinion and this is what I've found out after read many books, but Malorie Blackman changed that. My mate said she was reading Noughts & Crosses and loved it. So I went into the library and had all 4 books read within 2 weeks. She's still on Checkmate, lol.
If you like Romeo & Juliet you should like Noughts & Crosses, she never wanted it to seem like Romeo & Juliet but you do see the parallels between them as you read.
She wanted to write a book on slavery, so she started Noughts & Crosses. Nought's means the underclass and crosses mean the upper-class. Then came Callum (a nought) and Sephy (a cross) who fall in love despite that they're star-crossed like Romeo & Juliet.
I think this book would have...

Medal of Honor: Airborne
Advantages: Very original, good idea.
Disadvantages: can be hard for new player.
...Paratrooper is the centre of gravity of new EA game: Medal of Honor: Airborne, a promising FPS game with the hope to be different from other WWII games, showing its special game plays.
It?s not an incidence that in the WWII, German always called American?s paratroops as a ?lovely? name: ?Devils in a loose trousers?. This high-ranking corps appears and disappears suddenly in enemy?s base. Equipped with normal weapon, they strike the enemies with consternation, massacre from the inside-out. They are the proof for the foretelling of an American general Benjamin Franklin 150 years before: ?Those who jump down from the cloud? and ?do the diabolic trick? in the enemy?s army.
Honestly, Airborne contain a big change compare to other previous Medal of Honor versions as well as its hereditary rival: Call of Duty. Those games before always...

FREE DVDs
Advantages: Free trial, large choice, post included, new realeases
Disadvantages: see review
...I like movies and I like freebies, so when you get offered both in one swoop you?re bound to accept! I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). I then had an email from DVDs 365 asking me to go back, and offering me a free DVD if I did so. I had just left Tesco (with my new DVD player) so I chose to go back with them.
∆◊◊ THE SERVICE THEY OFFER ∆◊◊
Basically it?s like going to a video shop and hiring films on DVD, except you don?t pay for each film you chose ? rather a monthly fee for which you can watch as many movies as you can fit in, for us this is usually around 8 a month (2 a week usually weekends...

Blackman's greatest ever book
Advantages: Unbelievable read - excellent characters
Disadvantages: You won't be able to put it down!
...WOW! What an incredible book.
Listen very carefully - you HAVE to read this book. It is absolutely fantastic.
A Romeo and Juliet style novel, aimed at a teenage audience, but trust me anyone would enjoy this book (my mother and grandma were hooked after a few pages!). However, its violence and upsetting content means that it is realistically unsuitable for under 12s.
Noughts and Crosses follows the story of two teenagers - Callum and Sephy - who are besotted with each other yet constantly forced apart by their social classes (Callum is a nought, a second-class citizen in a society dominated by the ruling Crosses, of which Sephy is one).
Character development in the story is second to none, and is essential in order to gain great empathy with the characters, which Blackman creates flawlessly.
Many twists and turns in...

Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman
Advantages: One of the best books I've ever read!!!
Disadvantages: Keep with it.....it hots up nearer the end!
...that the author sugar coats events. Ms Blackman is a master of capturing the utter despair than runs throughout and her text is gritty and real, if not disturbing. There are repercussions that spill over into Malorie Blackman's next books, the continuation of the trilogy....Knife-edge and Checkmate.
You won't be able to wait to read those!
This is one of the most powerful books I have ever read. The story stayed with me for weeks and certainly stirred a lot of emotion. I passed it on to a friend who did comment that she thought it was slow and wondered what all the fuss was about. However, she remembered what I'd told her and stuck with it. She was totally hooked by the end and said she thought it was her best ever read!
It's the first book I'd ever read by this author and I'd definitely read more by her. I was so impressed by...

Fight for your Medal of Honor
Advantages: graphics, soundtrack
Disadvantages: shortage of levels
...The Medal of Honor gaming series first began in November 1999 with the game entitled "Medal of Honor" for the PS1 console. since then the game has sky rocketed in popularity and is definately one of the greatest WW2 first person shooter games to hit any PS1, PS2, PSP or Nintendo Wii. Medal of Honour Heroes Heroes 2 is designed solely for the PSP and Nintendo Wii format and is one hell of a game to play!
Pros - Multiplayer - This game is fantastic for playing over the internet; you can go up against up to 32 players across the world and have a non stop shoot em' up orgy of fun for hours at a time and if You can round up some friends who also own a PSP then you can see who reigns supreme in this WW2 game by playing against 2 - 8 players using your PSP's in built wireless capabilities.
The gameplay is truly fantastic, there are often...

My 3rd Medal Of Honor
Advantages: Graphics are good and it plays well.
Disadvantages: Very short, therefore no value for money.
...I remember buying the first instalmaent of the medal of honour games on my Playstation2 , but then i remember buying the 2nd one, rising sun and i was less than impressed.
I have a tendency to just buy things off their reputation, instead of reading reviews and getting other peoples opinions and this is what i did with medal of honor: airborne. If you are like me you love first person shooters and action games. I bought the game from play.com for £39.99 and i am now a little dissapointed. I recieved the game Thursday and have now completed it on Casual and Normal which only leaves the Hard setting for me to do, but i will not be wasting my time. Dont get me wrong i'm not one of these people who likes to spend months at a time completing a game but i still would have liked at least a week before getting bored of it.
The game itself...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54
Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.
...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied.
On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. All the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player...

Medal of Honor - Heroes
Advantages: Clear graphics, addictive gameplay
Disadvantages: May become boring if you have played the previous games in the series..
...To anybody who is a beginner to the Medal of Honor series, you may think "oh, a WWII game, the weapons are going to be rubbish, outdated and nothing compared to modern day weaponry." Well there you would be wrong... Medal of Honor offers exciting gameplay whilst keeping it authentic.
So, the story....you must play as the 3 different characters from the last 4 games in the MoH series.
In the first set of missions you play as Lieutenant Jimmy Patterson (who was the character of Medal of Honor and Medal of Honor Frontline).
In the second chapter you play as Sergeant John Baker, from Medal of Honor Allied Assault Breakthrough.
For the final chapter, you play as Lieutenant William Holt - the star of Medal of Honor European Assault.
In all three chapters, it is either following on from the last game that character played in, or it is...
