A Great DIGITAL Pregnancy Test!

...I started out buying just the standard Clearblue Pregnancy Test. I brought this one initially as it was cheaper than some of the others (£10 for 2 test sticks). Anyway I was 7 days late but suspected before this that I may be pregnant but wasn't too sure how long you are supposed to wait before you can do the test. When I read the box I found out I could of actually done the test on the first day my period was due, so I didn't actually need to wait this long at all. I had never taken a pregnancy test before but was very pleased to find that there were very clear instructions on the reverse of the packaging. The clear instructions were in 3 steps. ...most pregnancy tests available on the market these days do exactly the same as each other it is just that you pay a lot more for testers that tell you in words that you are pregnant or tell you that you are so many days pregnant, this in my opinion is a total waste of money when they all do the same job which is basically testing for an increase in a hormone in your urine, after all why pay £15 for a stick you are going to piddle on and throw away when you can get a very similar stick from your chemist for around £1 for a pack of two or 3 and are the exact same ones used by the nurse at your doctors surgery. Love the new DIGITAL clearblue pregnancy test!!!!

Advantages: finding out 100% one way or the other...

After 15 tests... i got a result!

Advantages: Clear blue was clear to read
Disadvantages: it is more expensive

...and hey presto within 3 minutes of looking at an Egg timer icon we were staring at the word 'PREGNANT' on the LCD screen. What a lovely Christmas present. The Clear Blue digital test said on the box that it could detect pregnancy as early as 4 days before the period was expected, although there was fine print to say that this wasn't in all cases. Of all the tests I tried it was the only one that gave me a definite result so early. In the following week I tried another Asda test and got a great positive, but it just shows that many tests just don't pick up enough hormone to detect a very early pregnancy. In all cases I did hold the absorbent stick in the stream for at least 5 seconds, but the HCG levels in my wee were obviously not strong enough for the tests. Boots pregnancy test - very quick & accurate

...These modern tests are done in exactly the same way as it would be if you'd had gone to your doctors - except now you can do it in the privacy of your own home and you don't have to wait weeks to find out the result! Perfect! I've never done a test until 11 weeks ago and I was so very nervous about doing a test for the first time. Especially as we'd planned a baby... just not this soon! The boots pregnancy test gave me an accurate result in just a few seconds. I actually took a second one just to be on the safe side. It too was positive, it couldn't be wrong! A scan 5 weeks later confirmed this. Also for some women that want to use the pregnancy test in their pregnancy scrapbook/diary the result doesn't fade! ...My hubby is a technology person, so finding a digital pregnancy test seemed perfect to appeal to him. It also felt more professional to me. We bought this test for the added accuracy. It also had the added bonus of being a renowned brand. The test can be bought in single, twin or triple packs. They work out much cheaper the more you buy. A second test is always necessary in case something goes wrong or you cannot believe your results. Each pack comes with a digital reader and test sticks (1, 2 or 3 depending on pack purchased). It also has a leaflet with easy to follow instructions. However, as anyone doing a test, being eager to see the results you skim through the leaflet. With this test don't. A Pregnancy Test for just £2.99

...I found this product in my local chemist. I waited until all the customers had left the shop and then asked for a pregnancy test. I don't know why I did this as I had a wedding ring on and a 19 month old in a pram with me! I had a choice of one of the regular branded pack of two pregnancy tests for £13.99 or this one for a 'special price' of £2.99 for one. Not sure if this is the regular price but it had a big yellow sticker indicating the special price and it's not as if they wanted to clear the shelves as it's in date for over another year. ...There are different pregnancy tests to use but the one that I bought was the Predictor pregnancy test. There was no particular reason apart from the fact this is the only one in the supermarket that they had. It comes in a white and pink box and the test is a foil wrapper so you know that it has not be tampered with in any way. The box gives you details of how to use the test and there is also instructions inside the box too. The test is white and plastic and is in 2 parts. One is the stick with a pink end which you wee on and the other part is where you put the stick with the windows to see if you are pregnant or not. It is very easy to use. Advantages: So easy to use, compact sealed test. Very reasonably priced.

Clearblue not always so clear

Advantages: Can buy box of 2 at reasonable price, quick & easy to use
Disadvantages: Not always a clear result

...pregnancy test and £11.99 for 2 tests so getting the box of two is better value for money & if you are unsure of the result you have a spare in the box. I think if I where ever to have to do another test I would go for the digital version, as this actually tells you pregnant or not pregnant, its a more expensive version but I think it would be worth the money to have that peace of mind with the result....
