Advantages: Funny, big names, Simon Pegg was great Disadvantages: Bit gory in parts
...I do enjoy a good comedy film, so how Hot Fuzz has passed me by so far is a bit of a mystery to me. I loved Simon Pegg's feature film "Run Fat Boy Run" and since I have seen that, lots of people have told me that I would definitely enjoy Hot Fuzz too. So when I went to stay at my parents for a week and they suggested we watch a film, I spotted Hot Fuzz on the shelf and immediately decided that was the film of choice. My family do enjoy a comedy film, and this film certainly didn't disappoint for us, so much so we went out and bought it after seeing it!
PC Nicholas Angel works for the Metropolitan Police in London and loves his job. However, things go a bit sour for him when he is transferred to a quiet Gloucestershire village called Sandford where policing isn't exactly the same as in his beloved London. PC Angel finds himself...

Review of Hot Fuzz (DVD)
Advantages: Easy to follow recipes, cheap food on the whole Disadvantages: Calorie Count!
...Traditional Hot Puddings is a lovely little recipe book which I picked up 10 years ago, I don't remember exactly where from, but it was something like a National Trust property, somewhere very traditional and nostalgic. I can't remember now how much my copy was, but the book is available from Amazon used or new from only 1p (plus £2.75 p&p).
The book was first published in 1994, and then reprinted in 1999. It is now printed by Siena, an imprint of Parragon Books who published the first edition. It is written by Sue Ashworth with illustrations by Julia Bigg.
A little background... I'm not a huge pudding fan, no ice cream for me, you can keep your cheesecake, and as for profiteroles, Yuk! However, I do like sticky toffee pudding, syrup sponge, really nice, thick, creamy rice pudding, baked apples with mincemeat. So, when I, as a 14-year...
...Hot Shot was released by reggae artist Shaggy in 2000 and done really well in the album charts at the time, this is a really good album and has a lot of memorable songs, including the most famous 'It wasnt me' and 'Angel'. Hot Shot is a funky, sexy and cool mix of tracks, and is in my opinion Shaggys best album.
You can buy this album in most good music stores for around the £5 mark which is a really good deal if you a fan of Shaggy or are into reggae style music.
The track listings for Hot Shot is:
1.) Hot Shot
2.) Lonely Lover
3.) It Wasnt Me
4.) Freaky Girl
5.) Leave It To Me
6.) Angel
7.) Hope
8.) Keepin It Real
9.) Luv Me, Luv Me
10.) Not Fair
11.) Hey Love
12.) Why Me Lord?
13.) Joy You Bring
14.) Chica Bonita
15.) Dance and Shout

Review of Hot Shot - Shaggy
Advantages: A very amusing film, with a great cast Disadvantages: Language and (comic) violence may offend some.
...Review of the DVD ?Hot Fuzz?
The DVD
This DVD was released by Universal Pictures in 2007. It has a run time of 1 hour 56 minutes and has been designated as suitable for age 15 or more. The genre is Action/Adventure/Comedy.
The DVD carries a warning that the film contains strong very language, strong bloody comic violence (?).
This is a two disc DVD and there are so many extras included that I could spend an hour listing them! I won't of course as, A) I doubt anyone really wants to read them and B) the review would go on too long! Suffice to say that the out takes, commentaries and features are well worth watching, something I never thought I'd say in a DVD review, as normally I don't bother with them!
The soundtrack is brilliant with an eclectic mix of modern and almost spaghetti western type tracks which add a touch...

Review of Hot Fuzz (DVD)
Advantages: Hilarious, detailed, very entertaining Disadvantages: None!
...Hot Fuzz is a brilliant mickey-take from the team that brought us Shaun of the Dead. It centres around a much decorated, very dedicated London cop called Sergeant Angel, who is politely removed from his job in the city and shipped out to a sleepy Gloucester village called Sandford.
This, on the face of it, doesn't seem like the most inspiring plot-line, but the villagers prove to be an interesting lot and it doesn't take long for Sergeant Angel to start arresting people and making a name for himself in the village. A series of bizarre accidents hint to Sergeant Angel that all is not as it should be in Sandford and bit by bit, the plot starts to reveal itself.
As well as a very inventive plotline, the characters in the film make it really watchable. There's the ever-correct Angel, (Simon Pegg) desperately trying to update...

Review of Hot Fuzz (DVD)
Advantages: John Cussack Disadvantages: Outdated attitudes and poor production
...Hot Pursuit
Dan (John Cussack) is all set for a Carribean holiday with Lori, his rich girlfriend, and her family. Unfortunately he fails an important science exam and has to pull out at the last minute. In order that the film lasts for more than ten minutes, his science teacher tells him that there's more to life than school and that if you get an opportunity to be on the beach with your bird, you should take it. Dan promptly heads off to the Carribean to catch up with Lori, yet through bad luck he is always one step behind. That is, until he hooks up with Mac Maclaren (Robert Loggia) who appears to be tracking Lori's family for more sinister reasons?
The budget for the film seems to have been mostly spent on the Caribbean locations, which are beautiful. The production suffers because of this. At times characters are barely audible...

Review of Hot Pursuit (DVD)
Advantages: Funny, Simon Pegg, Funny Disadvantages: None!
...Before I start writing this review in earnest, I am going to make a bit of an admission. I am a huge fan of Simon Pegg! There I have done it, admitted that if he turned up on my doorstep, I would have to seriously restrain myself haha.
Following on from the success of Shaun of the Dead (a review will follow I promise), Hot Fuzz is another collaboration between Pegg and Nick Frost. This pair are like a modern day Laurel and Hardy in my own honest opinion.
***Synopsis***
Sergeant Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg) is a tough policeman working in London. His results are so good that it is putting his colleagues to shame, so they conspire to get him sent away. His superior officers (Martin Freeman & Bill Nighy) arrange for him to be sent to a sleepy little village where nothing happens.
Angel arrives in the village of Sandford...

Review of Hot Fuzz (DVD)
Advantages: Great comic set-ups, accomplished direction and acting. Disadvantages: It only works as a parody.
...first feature? Well, yes and no. The great thing about their debut was that it could work as a parody and an exemplar of the zombie genre. But despite being written by two people that clearly know and love action movies, "Hot Fuzz" only works as a parody. The central conceit of the big city cop being sent out to the sticks could come from any number of actioners. But the situations he finds himself in and the excess of outlandish characters makes the world of the film more difficult to buy into. Towards the end we discover the ludicrous reasons behind the deaths, unspooling at a rate of knots. That's when the film becomes truly absurd and the scene is set for the big action movie pastiche. That being said, this is an extremely funny movie packed with gags from start to finish. There is something for everyone with character and situational...

Review of Hot Fuzz (DVD)
Advantages: Generally low price, reached number one in album charts in 2004, Disadvantages: Songs get more boring towards the end (but that's only in my opinion)
...The Killers, Hot Fuss
A little bit about the album
The album was released in June 2004. It reached number one in the album charts in the UK, and in Australia. It is the first album The Killers released.
The album cover front is light blue and on the middle of the front it says 'the killers' in big white letters. 'the' is in small letters on top of the 'k'. Underneath this it says in smaller, spaced out, dark blue capitals it says 'H O T F U S S'. At the bottom there is a picture of the tops of some blue sky scraper buildings with lights on them. - As you can see in the picture (just to make sure you have the right one).
The disc itself is dark red.
Who are The Killers?
The Killers are an indie-rock band originated in Las Vegas. The members are:
* Brandon Flowers (singer, keyboard)
* David Keuning (Guitars...

... AERO HOT CHOCOLATE
It's a little bit minty
Well I just made myself a nice cup of this so I thought I'd write a review while I have the inspiration in my hand!!!!! :-D
Well we all know of Aero Mint, they've been around for years. And now, you can get this, Mint Aero Hot Chocolate, along with plain aero and orange aero flavours, but this is my favourite.
There are two ways you can buy this, either in the 8 sachets (8x24g) or a 288g tub, which requires you to measure out your own measure of powder. But at £1 a tub at the minute in Asda, you can't complain at all!!!! :-D
Aero Minty is made by Nestle and the Nutritional Values per serving with 200ml water are:
Calories: 99
Sugars: 14.8g
Fat: 2.6g
Saturates: 2.4g
Salt:0.4g
so a mug every now and again isn't going to destroy your waistline...
