Estella Hotel and Apartments Did NOT Disappoint!

Advantages: Excellent location, superb customer service levels and lovely rooms
Disadvantages: No real facilities for the disabled

...Estella Hotel Apartments is based in Limassol in Southern Cyprus where I stayed for 6 nights in late April/early May of 2009 with my cousin. The booking was made via Expedia.co.uk and worked out at approximately £200 for 2 of us sharing a twin apartment (just £100 each basically). Before I confirmed the booking through Expedia I went off and did a bit of research on the hotel to make sure I wasn?t getting something that was cockroach infested. The hotel?s website, although fairly basic in appearance, made the hotel look pleasant enough and I sent an email to the hotel asking what amenities were included in the rooms/apartments. Olivaer Apart Hotel - A good base to explore from

Advantages: Excellent value for money
Disadvantages: Basic range of facilities

...The Olivaer Apart Hotel is very reasonably priced and there are some excellent off-peak offers available. It is located just off Olivaer Platz, literally across the road from a bus stop that takes you up the Kurfurstendamm (or you can walk up) and about 5 minutes from the U-bahn at Adenaur. If you are happy getting round the city on public transport this is an excellent hotel. There are a few cafes, bars and restaurants close though not a huge selection (there is no dedicated night life area in West Berlin, you will need to try different areas each night). There is also a supermarket two doors away for water and other snacks. The rooms are quite large but had a small bathroom and are simply furnished with beds, desk, table, chairs and a wardrobe. There is also a satellite TV and mini bar and hairdryers etc can be borrowed...

Salou and the Dorado palace apartments

Advantages: excellent family resort
Disadvantages: a lot of building work still going on

...Last year I took my family on holiday to Salou, I had never been to mainland spain before so did not know what to expect. I was delighted to find that the Dorado palace aparthotel lived up to its description in the brochure. This aparthotel is a relatively new complex. We stayed in the apartments which are one bedroom and have satellite television. They are cleaned daily and are decorated to a very high standard, although we had booked self catering the restaurant was such good value for money that we often had breakfast and our evening meal there it usually cost about £10-£15 per person. There was entertainment every evening which catered for all age groups. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and there are security guards evident in the evening to prevent lager louts etc. from entering the apartments...

Dorada Palace hotel review

Advantages: everything
Disadvantages: not in the centre of the buzz

...a pool view balcony and as all the entertainment was at the pool area (main reason why pool closed at 6pm) we could put the kids to bed and sit in the veranda to watch what was going on. This was a superb holiday and i would 100% definatley go back to again. The only draw back is you can't stay in it till May. Overalli would recommend this hotel to families, couples and singles. It is very clean and friendly and well worth a visit....

Advantages: Nice pool, pleasanr helpful staff, appartment very clean
Disadvantages: Bathroom stunk of drains, kitchen antiquated, no kettle, toaster or hairdryer

SUNSHINE MAKES EVERYTHING LOOK GOOD: We made our way up to the pool area and were pleasantly surprised by a couple of big pools, lots of sun loungers and umbrellas, a couple of quiet bars and a restaurant. It all looked quiet, sunny and inviting. We sat down and enjoyed an iced tea and toasted sandwiches. We had been up since 2am and I had only had a cup of coffee and water so I was quite hungry by now. The waiter was lovely and the food was fine. We were getting quite positive vibes and when we went back to reception they said our apartment was ready we were almost on a high. It has quite a wide brief, as it includes eight main sections - Films, Books, Music, TV, Radio, DVDs, Videos, Newspapers and Magazines. Advantages: Reasonably priced, clean, accom, two pools, free sunbeds, free internet

...My girlfriend and I stayed at the Worst Western Astor Metropole Hotel and Apartments for one "god forsaken" night. Never again... Some of the "fun" that we encountered: 1) Staff that couldn't speak conversational English. 2) Slow lifts (that we believe were operated by arthritic monkeys pulling on ropes and pulleys). 3) No assistance in locating our room (the building is like an evil M.C. Entertaining Black Comedy Classic

Advantages: Very entertaining. At times hilarious, other times quite melancholic.
Disadvantages: Nearly 50 years old, so has a dated look, but still packs a relevant punch

It won 5 Oscars, including Best Picture category, and of course it is filmed in monochrome which suits the atmosphere of the film perfectly. Obviously the film has a dated look. There are no computers, mobile phones and TVs look old-fashioned. Post war society before the swinging 60s got underway was far more closeted, discreet and deferential. There was absolutely no swearing on screen of course, and sex was a dirty word then. So why watch this?
