...Crowne Plaza Birmingham NEC
My wife and I have stayed here a couple of times, always in March and yes you?ve probably guessed, it?s when Crufts is on at the NEC.
Strange but a few years ago you had to book wayyy way in advance to get a room but with this recession where all going through, getting a room is easy. I suppose the stick that Crufts came under last year didn?t help either but anyhow getting back to the hotel.
You can easily book a room and they vary in price from £120 to £220 depending on things such as lake view, breakfast included or evening meal and breakfast. But as March approaches then the room prices tend to rocket.
The room is a standard large bedroom and a bathroom.
What more to add to the room? It comes with TV, Kettle, Ironing equip, small table and 2 comfy chairs. We...
Advantages: Location, toiletries Disadvantages: Expensive if not booked through third party website
...I've stayed at The Strand Palace a number of times. I generally pay around £85 per night for a double room although I book through a third party as booking directly through the hotel seems to cost in excess of £100 per night.
I've no idea why it's listed as 2 star on here given that its 3 star everywhere else. The rooms are a decent size and always clean. The bathroom is stocked with Pascal Morabito toiletries which I appreciate. There's a tv with sky channels, pay wi-fi, hairdryer etc. The staff are very polite and willing to help.
With regard to location, the hotel is located on the Strand which is the prime hotspot for theatre-goers. It's very close to Covent Garden and there are a number of London guides provided in the room for those who are new to the city.
I have not tried the food at the hotel so I am unable to comment...
Advantages: An outstanding place to stay for any length of time. Disadvantages: Slightly high price though it is in the city area of London
...Introduction
This hotel is located close to the city of London in a vastly improved area of Hackney. The hotel is owned by entrepreneurs Simon Wright and John Pallagi. One time, during 2009 I watched a particular episode of ?The Apprentice? and some of the lucky business task winners were sent here to have a night at this exact hotel. I then later checked the website to book one night stay at this hotel and I was impressed throughout my visit from start to finish. Booking a room here made me special as to say I was surrounded by successful business people and people wanting to enjoy a stylish and sophisticated night stay at this excellent hotel.
Location
The hotel is located in the east end of London, which is an area full of yuppies, wealthy businessmen, and city workers. The place itself is quite straightforward to...

Review of Hoxton Hotel, London
...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights.
LOCATION:
The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal.
PRICE:
Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...
Advantages: Fantastic Food Disadvantages: Lifts are quite small
...When we decided to make a return trip to Benalmedina we opted to go to the four star Hotel Las Arenas as it was recommended by friends. It is slightly further out just opposite the Castle Bill Bill and when you cross the road it?s a flat walk all the way to the marina which is away from the large hills on which many of the other hotels are located.
Reception
On arrival check in was swift and at this time we opted to pay for a safety deposit box we were then handed the safe key and card key to room 524 and pointed in the direction of the lifts. On looking round reception it was laid out with tables and chairs and also had a grand piano, a small bar ,toilets and computers with internet access. There is a large board telling you about entertainment available during the day and at night. The whole area was laid out for wheelchair access...
Advantages: Fabulous decor; impeccable customer service; Disadvantages: I had to leave!
...Last week my boyfriend turned 26 and I wanted to surprise him and take him away somewhere swanky for a short break. We both work very hard and long hours so I was after somewhere where we could relax and switch off from everything for a couple of days and just feel a bit pampered. After lots of research, Dublin seemed like the ideal place and after checking out some reviews on tripadvisor, The Dylan hotel looked like the perfect choice, being rated the 2nd best hotel in the city.
The Dylan is a 5 star boutique hotel based slightly outside of Dublin's main centre in a 19th-century townhouse that used to house the nurses of the nearby hospital. It's located on the South side of town by the canal in a quiet side street in a residential part of town, so you're unlikely to be bothered by any noise, but is a quick and very straightforward...

Review of Dylan Hotel, Dublin
...Westbourne Hotel, Brighton
Introduction
This hotel is located to the east side of Kemptown in Brighton city centre. It is fairly easy to get to as it is ten minutes walk to Brighton station and Brighton Marina, where there is extensive shopping and leisure facilities such as ten pin bowling and pool. It takes two minutes walk to the sea front and Brighton pier, and other local attractions and shops are all nearby. There are many restaurants, supermarkets, pubs and bars around the hotel. You will be sure to find something to interest you whilst on a short stay here. This hotel has eight or ten bedroom set over three floors. There is a step access to the hotel only which makes it difficult for disabled people to use this hotel. The road itself is on a downward slope towards the sea front. The road also is not a main road...
Advantages: Location, price & views Disadvantages: Standard of rooms, maintenance issues, no parking & pretty much no standards
...Just before I begin my review of The Claremont Lions hotel in Eastbourne I would just like to quote the description of the hotel on its brochure, I hope this is ok I just want to give you an insight into what I was led to believe I was booking into.
"Welcome to the Claremont.. A grade 2 Listed Victorian hotel situated in a prime position opposite the pier and famous carpet gardens with its fantastic views across the channel.
The Claremont offers an excellent standard of accommodation, food, service and a very warm welcome. In our sea view Compton restaurant we take particular pride in serving meals using the best local ingredients.
You will be impressed by the sense of space in the public areas. The rich wood finish and leather Chesterfields give a feeling of a boutique style. There is a new ground floor bar offering service...
Advantages: lovely rooms, nice food and fab facilities Disadvantages: none really
...I recently stayed overnight at the chine hotel in Bournemouth whilst in the area for a friends wedding. It is currently rated as a three star hotel, but I cannot for the life of me see why as I found it to be of at least four star standard. There are 86 rooms, all of which incorporate an en suite bathroom and are decorated to a decent standard. All rooms include a hair dryer, trouser press, direct dial telephone, satellite television (selected channels only) and the complementary tray of tea, coffee and biscuits.
There are four types of rooms available in relation to the view they offer the guests. The basic room is an inland room, then there is a garden facing room and finally the sea views and sea views with balcony (the prices are slightly higher for these).
The hotel has a fantastic restaurant which serves breakfast...
Advantages: Good breakfast, fluffy soft towel, location, helpful staff Disadvantages: Rooms need revamp, rooms hot, beds uncomfortable, slow Wi-Fi, on many levels
...We stayed in the Best Western Lion Hotel for one night on 19th Jan 2008 as we were attending my Aunt & Uncles 50th wedding anniversary party in the nearby Shireoaks Inn. The reason we chose to stay at the Lion was mainly down to its proximity to the Shireoaks (just round the corner) and because we had stayed at Best Westerns in the past and found them to be very agreeable. Also the same day as we got the invite to the party we received an offer from Best Western in the post for up to 50% off stays in January and February. We decided to upgrade to an executive room (wasn't my decision) and this cost us £73 including breakfast instead of £53 for the standard room with the offer. We booked online via the Best Western website.
