Lovely Limassol

Advantages: Lots to do, great weather, good location
Disadvantages: Problems with hotel rooms, some rude staff

...I have just come back from a gorgeous week in the Hotel Atlantica in Limassol in Cyprus, and I feel absolutely miserable - this time yesterday I was sunbathing in the 40C heat with a Pina Colada (they were free!) and now I'm sat at the computer, in a jumper, freezing my bum off. It's so cold here! Anyway, I've got quite a lot to say about Cyprus and the Hotel Atlantica, so here we go! CYPRUS - - - - - - - - - - - Cyprus is a an island located in the Mediterranean sea, south of Turkey, and close to Egypt. The official language is Greek, although being a former British colony, English is very widely spoken. The currency is the Cypriot Pound (CYP), which is 78p exactly, to our £1 sterling. The weather is nice enough to visit Cyprus from April to about October. It's hottest in July and August - it was well in the 30's and 40's...

Atlantica Hotel and Cyprus

Advantages: close to everything
Disadvantages: not a good beach in sight

This was the first time we had all ventured abroad as prior to this, I was only brave enough to book caravan holiday?s in the New Forest. With all the kit and caboodle you have to pack with two very young children I still had my doubts right up to the departure lounge. Lovely Limassol

Advantages: the complex has everything you need
Disadvantages: except a decent gym! (it's ok though)

The Hotel The complex comprised of two different types of accommodation, there was the Atlantica Hotel for those who were all-inclusive or half board, and The Royal Court Apartments for self-catering, which was where we were. The apartment was beautifully furnished and well equipped with kitchenette, T.V. and both a bath and a shower. They also provided a cot free of charge. The decoration of the entire place was extremely elegant and I was impressed from the start. The Pools The pools were fabulous; they have two outside (one at the Royal court and one at the Atlantica) surrounded by palm trees and free sun loungers, and a heated one inside. ...The Atlantica Bay Hotel, Limassol, CYPRUS (listed as 4 star by Tomson and ONLY available through them in the UK). Getting There: We booked through Thomsons where the just over 4 hour flight was part of the whole package. There are two main airports in the Southern part of Cyprus and travelling time is 'roughly' 45 mins. Obviously other airlines fly to Cyprus but cost & times are going to be very varied. Cost: Obviously this will vary on many things but, flying from Gatwick last July and coming back one week later with daytime flights, the cost was about £1,300 for 2 of us, staying fully inclusive. Who its for: The main user of the hotel is Thomson (Gold holidays). Good value for money 4 star hotel

Advantages: Good location, clean, good standard of accommodation, child friendly
Disadvantages: Can get very quiet, less facilites available in the winter

...Recently renovated and located right on the beach, the Atlantica Miramare offers good standard 4 star accommoadtion. It is located ina quiet position off the main tourist strip in Limassol so you are never far from nightlife if you want it. There are some really good facilities within the hotel and grounds, tennis court, water sports, spa, gym, sauna, childrens facilities such as a regular acitvity programme and childrens meals, playroom and babysitting service. There is also a regular day and evening entertainment programme for those who like a more active holiday. Estella Hotel and Apartments Did NOT Disappoint!

Advantages: Excellent location, superb customer service levels and lovely rooms
Disadvantages: No real facilities for the disabled

...Estella Hotel Apartments is based in Limassol in Southern Cyprus where I stayed for 6 nights in late April/early May of 2009 with my cousin. The booking was made via Expedia.co.uk and worked out at approximately £200 for 2 of us sharing a twin apartment (just £100 each basically). ...We went to Cyprus for the first time last December. We stayed in Limassol at the Hotel Atlantica Bay. My Review on the Hotel Atlantica Bay, which is a Thomson Gold property. The Hotel was excellent, although rather large it was very welcoming, friendly and relaxing, the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The public areas were really well decorated, with lots of marble being used, especially in the lobby leading to the restaurants, which also had a lovely fountain and marble statues lining the walls. Atlantica Golden Beach Hotel - Golden all the way

Advantages: All inclusive with great food, no kids, great staff

...We wanted to have a break away just the two of us without our kids and knew we wanted an all inclusive break. After much deliberation we decided to try the Atlantica Golden Beach and were not disappointed. This is a Thomson Gold Hotel and we received Gold service from the minute we booked. Everyone was so friendly. When we arrived into Paphos airport we were quickly shown to our bus and because it is a Gold hotel you are dropped off first. The Manager and staff were there to greet us with drinks and a short information session about where restaurants, bars, facilities were. We had upgraded our room to a Double Superior and this meant that we were guaranteed a sea view along with a bottle of wine, fruit, bathrobes, slippers, television, cd player and canopy over our large double bed. ...Well what can I say we arrived back this morning from our 2 week honeymoon at the arsinoe beach hotel, and I can tell you all we won't be going back? The location of the hotel to the town of limassol was very disappointing it is too far to walk in the midday heat and if you wanted to go the old town on foot then it would take you about half an hour to an hour to get there. There is good news though there is a bus that runs along the sea front and it costs £0.80cyp for which you can get on and off where ever you want - bargain There are two pools at the back of the hotel one for children and the other for adults.
