I have reserved rooms using this service in the past, and have been very pleased. This, however, came to an end this summer. I booked a room at the Travel Inn in Reykjavik, only to find, upon arrival, that my wife, son, and myself were escorted to a car with no explanation. Eventually the clerk told us that we would be driven to the "other" location. The Travel Inn has, it seems, bought space in the Pavi Guesthouse (over a mile away). I would have refused on principle, but I know the situation in Reykjavik is such that I might have had no options. Booking accomodation for a reasonable price

Advantages: easy to navigate and to book, don't charge anything, good prices
Disadvantages: none

We booked our accommodation for our honeymoon as well via booking.com. The site When you click on http://www.booking.com you can see an orange rectangular panel. You have to fill the destination and the checking in and checking out dates. Press the Search button. Then if you wrote a large city like Paris there are some choices you can select from. There are the airports, so if you want a hotel near the CDG you have to click on the link they provided. After you decided which location is appropriate to you there will be a list of hotels. You can sort the hotels by stars, popularity, price for single room, price for double room and best rated by... ...all...

Booking.com Dishonest Thieves !

Advantages: A fast way to loose money
Disadvantages: You get to pay for a service that you never use

...I recently made a booking through booking.com, a reservation which was cancelled via a communication with the hotel, I was informed that I would not be billed. Much to my astonishment I was billed for a room in which I did not stay. A phenomenon otherwise known as stealing! I have endeavoured to resolve this problem directly with the hotel, as advised in the first instance by the unhelpful staff at booking.com after having been billed. I was then shouted at by the hotel representative and told to deal with booking.com. Guess what ? They passed the buck and told me to call back the hotel. I give up, but will do my best to share my experiences with both the Eurohotel Sovereign at Saint Denis Basilique, Paris France and Booking.com with the wider public. EASY BOOKING.COM

Advantages: No charge until you have stayed.
Disadvantages: None

...I have used BOOKING.COM where we have made the booking and stayed at the Hotel and also where we have needed to cancel. BOOKING.COM is another site that often appears to be the cheapest when we trawl HOTELSCOMPARISON.COM. We booked for Vila Gale in Tavira Portugal for our January trip. Booking process was very easy, we had two double Rooms with Buffet Breakfast and Pool View (Pool View was 1 Euro per night per room, Saga were Charging 2 Euros per person per night) (Total cost per room for the 3 nights was £87, thats B&B at less than £15 per person) You get Email Confirmation and you print your Voucher Off to present to Hotel. Booking.com is one of those Agencies that do not take any money off you at the booking, you pay the Hotel Direct. You do register your Credit Card number with them, so in the event of no show...

Advantages: Quick and easy booking hotel
Disadvantages: Not many hotels offer for Asia region

...I booked a hotel in the Netherlands through Booking.com. I got very special rate from them. The normal price of the hotel was 125 euro, but booking.com offered 50 euro rate. I think I was a big deal for me. And at that time, I could not make print out of my booking because it was an urgent situation. But I did not have a problem at all with it. Just need to confirm my name with hotel's reception, then I got my room's key within 10 -15 minutes, of course I need to fill up some details again for the hotel's form. Pity that we could not find lots of hotels in Asia. Most of hotels that they offer are located in Europe. Maybe in the future we can find more hotels for Asia....

Booking.com-Promises made, no deliery, then poor customer service

Advantages: reasonable rates
Disadvantages: Do not book your chosen hotel, refuse to address any problems, poor service

...My experience of booking.com was good up to the point of checking in the hotel booked. Despite my proof of reservation at booking.com there had been no reservation made at the hotel at all. The Hotel had rooms but at £40 extra per night than previously booked. The customer service at Booking.com was next to useless, asking them to re-confirm the booking over the phone, they absolutely refused saying they had already done it and the hotel must have made an error. -so why would they not just reconfirm? The excuse at booking.com was that they were not allowed to make any changes, repeating this everytime like a stuck record- yet I was not asking for a change. After 15minutes aguing the valid point with Booking.com customer service and getting nowhere, I have come to the conclusion Booking.com are useless, and will no longer use them...

...I booked a hotel room at the Hotel Diplomatic in Rome Italy through Booking.com. We tried for days to change our reservation but no one from the hotel would return our calls. We finally changed the reservation through the Booking.com website well before the cut-off date and yet we were charged for the first night of our cancellation by the hotel. Booking.com list that you may make changes to your reservation up to 24 hours before your reservation without penalty, however, upon arriving at the Hotel Diplomatic we were told that their policy is 48 hours. After repeated calls to Booking.com the charges have not been credited to my account. Booking.com does not stand behind their own policy. After further researching, I have found this to be a common problem with Booking.com and that their customer service never follows up on problems...

Hotel International

...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights. LOCATION: The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal. PRICE: Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

Advantages: Excellent customer service, great choice of hotels and excellent rates

After selecting the hotel, you are given a host of information about the hotel, including their cancellation policies. The policies are those of the hotel, and not Booking.com. Therefore it is very important to check these prior to booking. However, there is no small print regarding these, all of the information is in plain sight and easy to view before confirming the booking. Similarly to my previous stay, I had notice that the Hotel seems to be advertised much cheaper on accomodation websites compared to near enough all other places to stay in prague. getting to the accomodation The details of getting to prague town centre are covered in my previous prague accomodation review, and whilst this accomodation is not as easy to get to location wise, a tram journey needed to get the accomodation from one of the central location's of prague town centre. booking process I booked this accomodation using a third party reservation booking website and paid around seventy euros...
