I'd sail the seas to avoid the Maritim, Bremen
Advantages: It's quiet
Disadvantages: It's on life support and needs a shot of adrenaline
.... I found the other restaurant at the far end of the hotel and had an uninspired and overpriced meal in which two courses and a diet coke put me dangerously close to my expenses limit without really filling me up. I've never bothered to try breakfast because, after the debacle with the other non-restaurant, I couldn't figure out where I was supposed to find it.
The hotel apparently has other facilities like a pool and conference rooms and a walkway that links it to the exhibition centre nearby but I've not used any of these. It also offers over-priced internet access thats quite resistable.
In summary, there's nothing wrong with this hotel but there are so many other hotels in Bremen that it really needs to try harder if it's going to ever fill its rooms. The company I visit in the city tends only to book the Maritim if...

One Day In Bremen
Advantages: a city with a small town feeling
Disadvantages: didn't find any
...Last year the question plagued me: one week of autumn holidays, what could I do? When I read that one of the greatest van Gogh exhibitions ever had just been opened in Bremen in the north of Germany I found my destination.
The exhibition alone didn’t lure me, though, a train journey of seven hours and an expensive ticket, to say nothing of the price for the hotel, would be a bit exaggerated, even for an art buff like me.
I wanted to see the north of Germany again; I had lived in a small town near Bremen for nine years and liked it there, in fact landscape-wise I’ve never liked it better anywhere else. I don’t cherish hills and mountains, I always feel they block my view. I want to see the sky!
My mother and I always went to Bremen when we had great acquisitions to make which wasn’t very often, but I...

A First Class Choice at Second Class Prices
Advantages: Very convenient location
Disadvantages: A little bit basic
...stations. There is a slight air of sleaze for me in the concept of the transient railway hotel.
In the case of the Intercity in Bremen, neither of these situations is true - it's not an architectural gem and it's not a sleazy dive either. What you get is a very nice, clean, modern hotel that's right next to the city's very attractive red-brick hauptbahnhof and right in front of the bus and tram station. As you can imagine, this isn't going to be the quietest hotel you've ever stayed in and if you open the windows, you will get a lot of noise. But with the windows closed it's not at all bad and since the aircon works in summer - not something you can take for granted in Northern Germany - you can easily live with the windows closed.
The location is great for the station and the public transport network, but not quite so good for seeing...

The Strand Palace Hotel
Advantages: Central location, clean
Disadvantages: Food, rooms
...We stayed at this hotel in London a little over a month ago now for two nights, we chose this hotel mainly because of the central location and because it was only a ten minuite walk from the show we had booked to go too.
Check in was very quick - About ten minuites and the staff at the reception seemed very friendly.
My first thoughts on the hotel was that it looked really clean and that it was nicely decorated and it looked modern.
I was a little dissapointed with our room as it was very small and basic, our room had a double bed, tea and coffee making facilities, a tv with satellite and a small, basic en suite bathroom with a shower.
The views from our room very very poor - A block of offices which made our room dark as they were so close.
The hotel has two bars and two resturaunts, the bars were again nicely decorated...

Hotel International
Advantages: Location, breakfasts
Disadvantages: Poor rooms
...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights.
LOCATION:
The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal.
PRICE:
Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

Booking.com helps hotels cheat customers.
Advantages: extensive database of hotels, many quite inexpensive
Disadvantages: if a hotel cheats you, they will apologize, but do nothing.
...Booking.com: Colluding with Corrupt Hotel Owners to Cheat Customers?
I am sorry to have to write this review, but I have tried for months to get Booking.com to address my complaint. I have reserved rooms using this service in the past, and have been very pleased. This, however, came to an end this summer.
I booked a room at the Travel Inn in Reykjavik, only to find, upon arrival, that my wife, son, and myself were escorted to a car with no explanation. Eventually the clerk told us that we would be driven to the "other" location. The Travel Inn has, it seems, bought space in the Pavi Guesthouse (over a mile away). I would have refused on principle, but I know the situation in Reykjavik is such that I might have had no options. We were driven there, the driver stopped along the way to encourage me to withdraw money from...

sachas hotel
Advantages: good price,great location
Disadvantages: no window
...****Sachas hotel- Manchester****
I booked this hotel last minute as i had a job interview in Manchester and needed somewhere quite cheap ,that was also near the centre.
**Location/Getting there**
This hotel is located in Tibb street which is a 2 minute walk from Piccadily Gardens or 10 minutes away from Chorlton street bus station. The Train station is a little bit further away say maybe a twenty minute walk but i don't think that this is that bad .You can also get a tram from Piccadily gardens and this goes to quite a few places. You could also get a taxi to the hotel but i am not sure what parking is like if you were to take your own car.
**Reception/staff**
Since i had never been to Manchester before i phoned and asked the staff for directions -they were very nice and helped me out. When i got there i think i got the same...

Further Information
Whilst I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in prague from my previous recent visits to this town I had noticed a big difference in the exchange rate from forty czech koruna's to one Pound to around thirty czech koruna to one Pound. So this place is slowly catching up being a relatively new member of the E.U. Though still from a travel journey it still represents a excellent few Days away from home...

Noisy and Basic - I won't go back.
Advantages: I'm really struggling to think of any good reason to stay here
Disadvantages: Smelly, noisy and tiny
...Unfortunately the hotel where I normally stay in Bremen was fully booked. It was probably my own fault for leaving the booking so late and was not helped by the travel agent 'forgetting' to make a booking. With the Intercity full, I was sent to the Mercure. I had seen the hotel from the outside many times as it's on the Bahnhofplatz, directly opposite the main entrance to the station. Seen from outside the main impression is that this is a big hotel - stretching right from the corner across several shops and bars. My expectation based on too many nights in Accor-group hotels is that anything less than Novotel in the Accor-family is likely to be pretty poor.
I checked in at about 7 pm and the reception desk was not busy. The receptionist was pleasant, more or less efficient (she couldn't find my paperwork and getting a code...

ONE FOR THE HOTEL INSPECTOR
Advantages: Location, price & views
Disadvantages: Standard of rooms, maintenance issues, no parking & pretty much no standards
...AND PRICES
I went through a few major hotel websites and came across The Claremont Lions, which seemed a reasonable price and sounded like it was well situated and of a good standard compared to the rest of the hotels in Eastbourne. Well the write up made it sound like an amazing standard but having stayed in a lot of hotels I know that's normally nothing to go by. After deciding on the hotel we were going to use I set about getting some comparables and came up with the hotels own website being the most expensive at £80, Lastminute.com at £69 and Hotel pronto at £59 which seemed really reasonable especially as I could get 8% cash back from the cash back website I use.
It was simple to book online it took my 2 minutes to complete my details and my payment information. I was then sent an email confirmation and the hotel voucher.
Booking online...
