Hotel Armadams, Palma de Mallorca

...We visted the Hotel Armadams for our honeymoon back in October 2006 for a short break to take in the sights and sounds of Palma. It is situated one "block" away from the main promenade in Palma, a road lined on one side with bars, hotels, shops and the marina and harbour area on the other. I am not a great Spanish speaker, infact I know only the most basic of phrases to muddle through, but the staff were very understanding and very helpful, even though we weren't checking in until really late following a delayed flight. The room was exceptional. Clean crisp tiled floors beautufully airy which really made a good first impression. De Vere hotel in the centre of Cambridge!

Advantages: Great location, nice rooms, friendly
Disadvantages: Parking charge, busy area

...My husband and I stayed here a year or so ago, he took me for a surprise weekend away and I was very impressed with the hotel. He firstly choose De vere's as they are known to have very nice, luxury hotels at quite good prices in good locations. This location was fantastic. At first though I must admit I was a bit disappointed because looking at the photograph of the hotel you expect it to have a lovely huge green area in front of it but that is actually the park next to the hotel. The hotel is situated right in the town and not really surrounded by green area at all as the photo suggests but never mind, it did not put us off. The location like I said was in town, just a short walk down the road (Regent Street) to all the shops and restaurants so after a great day sightseeing etc it did not take long to get back "home". Parque de La Paz Hotel Review.

Advantages: Excellent location and fantastic value for money. Highly recommended.
Disadvantages: Nothing stands out as being an issue.

...Please bear in mind that Holidays in Tenerife are usually aimed at the 18-30 age group. The Parque de La Paz hotel is located in Playa de las Americas on the south of the Island. It is situated nearby a supermarket and a mere 400m from the wonderful beaches. Tenerife's reputation certainly goes before it and I found many of my ideas surrounding the island were wrong. Advantages: Fantastic rooms, friendly staff, great location
Disadvantages: some of the other guests seem to think their a bit special!

...be booked over the hotel groups website, by calling a central reservations number, by calling the hotel directly and most likely through your locale travel agents alothough i wouldn't recommend this as it will work out much more expensive that contacting the hotel directly. I would definatly recommend a visit to this hotel especially for a special occassion, the staff are always friendly, helpful and willing to go the extra mile, for example several times they've made food for me not on the menu just because i enquired as to whether they did do it or not. Also if you have an american express card you can often get deals on buy one get one night free in de vere hotels, and sometimes a free upgrade (the reason i got junior suites both time!)...

A Palatial Hotel fit for a Queen

Advantages: A wonderfully characteristic hotel

...Carmona is a town with a very long history and is situated about 30km east of Seville. It lies astride the NIV Seville-Cordoba highway so the town is very easy to find. The Alcazar de la Reina Hotel is situated in the heart of the old town. It's not hard to find as it's more than adequately signposted, but it's still a bit of an ordeal driving to it. The old town was not designed with the automobile in mind (in fact I doubt whether the wheel was even invented when much of this place was built!) and you must negotiate a torturous and convoluted route through the incredibly narrow streets and lanes (all one way). The streets are so tight, it could be quite hair-raising - I don't have much hair so I was alright. When we eventually cleared the claustrophobic streets, we found ourselves at one of the highest points of the town with a car...

Hotel De Havelet- The place to stay!

Advantages: Close to all amenities, clean, friendly, good short break offers
Disadvantages: If walking be prepared for the hill!!

...Nestled in the side of a hill surrounded by other private houses, yet still with tranquillity, is the Hotel De Havelet run by Best Western, which inlcudes their very inviting and locally well-known restaurant- 'The Wellington Boot.' Although we were working on a budget for this visit, we were still looking for good food and comfortable lodgings for a few days, and this hotel churned out the goods! The hotel is situated on the edge of St Peter Port, the capital of Guernsey, so the major town is very accessible by foot, and not too far from local public transport, taxis or boat trips to the other smaller surrounding Channel Islands. We had taken up a short break offer, which we were very grateful for as our trip was not to be a relaxing one due to a death in the family. De Barge really floats my boat

Advantages: quirky, friendly, good food

...I like something a little bit different and out of the ordinary. When looking for accommodation for a night in Bruges in Belgium I stumbled across De Barge ,which is a hotel in an old converted canal barge and immediately was drawn to it. It looked very cosy, quirky and more importantly was within our budget. My instincts were right. I am not a seasoned traveler and a night in a hotel is a bit of a treat for me so I wanted it to be fairly special. It seemed to have decent enough reviews on travel websites and a colleague had coincidentally recently spent a night at De Barge and really sang its praises saying it was ?the best hotel she had ever stayed at?. After this recommendation I immediately booked De Barge for one night midweek in late June. I booked our room, a double cruise cabin online using Booking.com, which was easy to use...

De-Salis Hotel London Stansted

Advantages: Very friendly staff well run VERY clean hotel
Disadvantages: During my stay hotel restuarant was under refurb

...you walk in as your not a regular, as most ppl in pubs do nowadays. The other thing was when we arrived we was shown to out room which was another nice room but was not the bridal suite I went back to reception and they apologised and moved us straight away. So if anybody is going to travel from stansred and wants a friendly clean warm hotel at a great price book the de salis you wont be dissapointed. We will be going back in the next year, but I dont think we will have the same room....

Hotel de la Treille, Lille

Advantages: great position.Everything in walking distance
Disadvantages: our room was small

...The hotel is in the old part of Lille. everything is in walking distance, even the Eurostar station (only about 5-10 mins on foot) The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. The breakfasts had no 'hot' dishes, just lovely French sticks, croissants, pan au chocolate , the usual cold meats & cheese, cereals etc. Tea & coffee out of those big flask things! No bar. The bedroom was cleaned daily as was the shower/toilet / bath. The only downside was the size of the room - it was really small. Hardly any room between the side of the double bed and the patio doors. My wife & I are not big people, but it really was cramped. There was a balcony , but not a great view (into the next building), though you could see the imposing cathedral which is just behind the hotel. We were unlucky with the room size, others in the hotel were bigger....

Apparently it's pronounced 'De Loy-yer'

Advantages: Nice quiet locale, cheap (relatively speaking) and cheerful.
Disadvantages: Dated decor and basic rooms

...On my recent trip to Amsterdam I was lucky enough to have the hotel and flights sorted out by one of my buddies - good man! He booked us in to The Hotel De Looier, which is a former diamond factory ( in the 19th century) in the antique district of Amsterdam, 5 minutes walk from the Leidseplein (one of the main bar/restaurant areas). CHECKING IN The checking in process was fairly quick and easy, although there only appears to me one member of staff in reception at any one time, so at busy times you could probably find yourself waiting a while to be seen to.
