Fiesta Don Carlos Hotel Ibiza
Advantages: Relaxing, very close to the beach,10 mins away from shops
Disadvantages: not the place to go if you want nightclubs, as its the quieter side of the island
...I first stayed at this hotel, two years ago, with my boyfriend, and he and his parents had been going to this part of the island for many years,
but when he mentioned Ibiza my first thought was, its going to be very noisy, full of clubs, bars and lots of drinking,
as i had heard all the stories, but i thought i would go just to see, i couldn't have been more wrong,.
The hotel itself has just been redecorated, and is very well kept, there is an indoor bar, and restaurant and they also have an outside dinning area, but space is limited so you have to be early for dinner, there is a large pool, which has a seperated area for children,
There are steps leading down to the beach, and another outdoor bar just off to your left as you reach the bottom of the steps, which is also part of the hotel.
They have evening...

Hotel Don Juan,Magaluf - A pleasant suprise!
Advantages: Well located, friendly staff, spacious rooms
Disadvantages: Evening meal could've been better
...It's been a while since I wrote a review and I had said to myself that I would wait until after my holiday to put fingers to keyboard once again. After sunning ourselves for 2 weeks in Magaluf, Majorca it's taken me a while to get back into the swing of everyday life in Blighty but I think I'm almost there (worst luck).
Well it's been almost a week since we got back and so I thought it was about time I put my review writing cap on once again and what better to review than the hotel we stayed in on our holiday.
The Don Juan Hotel is part of the Hoteles Saint Michel group and is a 3 star hotel situated in the quieter area of Magaluf. It was built in 1972 and extensively renovated during the winter of 1999 and has 182 rooms in total (161 twins and 21 single) which stretch over seven floors.
We had booked our 10 day holiday through...

The best hotel in the tourist trap of Benidorm
Advantages: Good service, great location, fine food.
Disadvantages: entertainment.
...Benidorm is full of third rate hotels catering mostly for the mass British tourist market. It is easy to see why it is so popular, with a great climate, blue flag beaches, good transport links, and close to a number of theme parks.Finding a good hotel however is another matter. Most of the Benidorm hotels are booked by the large travel companies and to be honest with a few exceptions remain cheap and cheerfull. The Don Pancho however is another matter. The WOW factor begins when you arrive as you walk thru the Mayan themed garden, with river and waterfall,to enter the hotel. The check in is one of the quickest in Spain and you are then taken along with your luggage to your room (unheard off in the rest of Benidorm hotels.) The rooms have air con, piped music, fridge, room safe,TV, telephone, and a vast amount of storage space. All the rooms...

DON JUAN HOTEL, MAGALUF
Advantages: close to beach
Disadvantages: Can be noisy at night
...outdoor freshwater swimming pool, with separate children's section, which was very nice and they did tend to keep it quite clean. The sun terraces were also a good size and were furnished with plenty of sun loungers and parasols
********KIDS**********
There is a children?s playground and mini-club and they also had pool and table tennis tables.
*********ENTERTAINMENT**********
There was a good programme of daytime sporting activities (pool games, archery, aerobics) organised each day. These were arranged by their resident team. I did enjoy the evening entertainment, there was a variety of live music, cabaret and other professional shows several times each week.
************FOOD************
The food was definately basic but then again it is only a 3* hotel. Don't get me wrong there was a selection of things and chips were always...

Great hotel in a great place
Advantages: read review
Disadvantages: none
...I went on holiday to San Pedro de Alacantara several years ago and stayed in the hotel Cortijo Blanco. It was a hotel we had seen on TV Travel Shop, as it was one of their top 10 holiday destinations.
LOCATION
The hotel is situated in the small spanish village of san pedro de alacantara, which as said by the holiday rep is "untouched by tourism, other than the McDnalds!". The village is around a 15 minute walk from the hotel, however within only a 5 minute walking distance, within sort of a mini village there are some small shops and bars as well as a little supermarket. In the village there are shops and bars and it has to be said that some of the tapas bars there are amongst the best I have been in, and well worth a try. The village and area is very remote with not much else about but all the essentials are on site.
THE ROOMS...

RESTAURANTE O PEDRO a delight.
Advantages: A jovial and attentive waiter
Disadvantages: None
...We were on our Annual Short break to Tavira in Portugal on the Algarve.
The previous September my Brother Rob, and his by far better half Roz had been caught up in the XL Failure so had ended up with a replacement holiday in Cabanas, a small town juts an 8 Euro Taxi ride from Tavira.
So on the Sunday Luch we tripped over to Cabanas, there were six on this jaunt, Rob/Roz Anne and Daughter Sheryl and Jane and I.
Rob/Roz had a Restaurant in mind, Restaurante Fonte (See Bostonianbeer review on it), but alas although owners were there and remembered Rob/Roz they were not open until the evening.
Never mind we had a wander, purused a few menus and settled on the RESTAURANTE O PEDRO.
It looked a small place with about 7 tables out front, as the Sun was shining we asked the waiter outside for tables for 6, at this point we...

Poodling Pedro
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Overdrives cars
...I expected big things form De la Rosa. instead he drives into people and over people instead of around them. He did very well at A1 ring but only because nearly everyone went out on the first corner. Then the car let go. Also, Jos's car last a lot longer than Pedro's which makes me wonder if he is overdriving it. Engines that let go that often are not normally manufacturers fault. Drivers are simply overdriving them. Same as Johnny Hebert. No way can someone have such bad luck with engines. He just breaks them. Go to Indy Car racing Johnny, and take Pedro with you!!!...

The Strand Palace Hotel
Advantages: Central location, clean
Disadvantages: Food, rooms
...We stayed at this hotel in London a little over a month ago now for two nights, we chose this hotel mainly because of the central location and because it was only a ten minuite walk from the show we had booked to go too.
Check in was very quick - About ten minuites and the staff at the reception seemed very friendly.
My first thoughts on the hotel was that it looked really clean and that it was nicely decorated and it looked modern.
I was a little dissapointed with our room as it was very small and basic, our room had a double bed, tea and coffee making facilities, a tv with satellite and a small, basic en suite bathroom with a shower.
The views from our room very very poor - A block of offices which made our room dark as they were so close.
The hotel has two bars and two resturaunts, the bars were again nicely decorated...

Hotel International
Advantages: Location, breakfasts
Disadvantages: Poor rooms
...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights.
LOCATION:
The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal.
PRICE:
Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

Hotel for Dogs - Ssshhhhhh! Please Don't Tell My Dog Pippa!
Advantages: Good family fun - plenty of cute moments!!
Disadvantages: Stunts a bit hard to believe - even for kids!!
...she has been in before!), Jake T Austin (no idea either!), Lisa Kudrow (Friends), Kevin Dillon and Don Cheadle of Hotel Rwanda and Ocean's 11 fame.
They stumble upon a disused hotel which seems like the perfect place to keep their dog safe. Only, gradually they end up looking after all the strays in the area. They get help from some teenagers working at the local pet store (cue free food) and the hotel is quickly transformed into a paradise for dogs! There are even specially designed toilets and ride simulators to keep the dogs entertained.
Of course everything runs along smoothly until their hideaway is discovered and all the dogs are taken back to the pound and the children end up in trouble. I won't go into the ending, as that would spoil the plot.
***Opinion***
I had to keep reminding myself when watching this film that it is meant...
