Desert areas and marsh regions are indicated, along with other smaller natural features such as dry lakes, wadis, reefs and oases. The road detail includes some unsurfaced tracks, with intermediate distances marked on major routes. Symbols show airports, airfields, ports, petrol stations, hospitals, post offices, accommodation, oil wells, border crossings, beaches, points of interest, archaeological sites, etc. The map is includes a glossary of Arabic geographical terms. The inset Dubai plan is at a scale of 1:15,000. It is not indexed and has no legend but shows the road detail clearly, along with the metro line, hotels, mosques and other landmarks. There is also a simple inset map of central Muscat, showing main roads, medina walls, and some notable buildings, eg. embassies, mosques and hospitals.
