An impartial view of zermatt
Advantages: Fantastic Food, shops, atmosphere, scenery and snow
Disadvantages: Nothing compared to the advantages
...?Zermatt is a place all skiers must go to before they die? Well, the guide books that state that are spot on. It?s that time of year again, when keen skiers & boarders start to think about their next winter holiday, and where it should be this year. Well, if you haven?t tried Zermatt, Switzerland, then this resort should be near the top of your list. It?s simply excellent. I have been there several times, and love it. There?s a charm, a magic that runs through the lively and attractive village. The lifts are fast and efficient and the runs which take you through stunning scenery, seem to always be in excellent condition. Zermatts height affords the resort a fantastic snow record with skiing from early on in the season till mid April. The resort has three main mountains. Rothorn, Gornergrat and Klein Matterhorn. All three offer fantastic...

Friendly staff & very comfortable.
Advantages: Good food & excellent Matterhorn views
Disadvantages: Swimming pool is freezing & swimwear is optional in the sauna!
...I stayed at this hotel in May 2006, whilst 6 months pregnant! It was fantastic! Zermatt is a car free zone so you have to park your car at the large car park outside Zermatt & catch the train. The short train journey will then arrive at the train station where you can pick up a free transfer from the hotels electric powered mini bus. We just walked which was about 10/15mins as it's at the opposite end of the resort. The hotel is beautifully furnished with pine clad on the walls & ceilings in the rooms. You must ask for a Matterhorn view, it will just make your holiday to wake up every morning & see the mountain from your bed. Our room was on the top floor so we had velux windows to really maximise the views. We stayed on a half board & you get a set menu with 2/3 choices. Being pregnant I was limited to what I could eat & if...

Basic Parisian hotel... but a brilliant location.
Advantages: Close to some good shops, a good metro station and not far from the Eiffel Tower.
Disadvantages: Tiny room, paper thin walls (and I MEAN paper thin) and quite tired rooms.
...When booking my visit to Paris back in 2007, I wasn't interested in review sites as I am now. I simply booked it based on the price and how it sounded whilst browsing the choice of hotels through Thomson Holidays. These days choosing a hotel for my holiday is a pain staking process of comparing prices carefully against reviews, and debating over which one sounds best! However I had booked this 3* hotel as it was in a good location and it looked nice enough on the pictures, it wasn't badly priced too compared to similar hotels in Paris.
The Hotel's Location
Europe Hotel is in an ideal location on a busy street. It's situated only a 10-15 minute walk away from the Effiel Tower, which was amusing on our first day as we stood with a map wondering where the busy street we were standing in was located in proximity to the Tower... only...

Not for the beginner.
Advantages: Trafic free, swiss run lifts.
Disadvantages: Price not for a new skier
...I visited Zermatt for the ski season, it is one of switzerlands trafic free resorts so to get there you should be taking a train at some point although there are also taxis availible throughout the day and night. It may be trafic free but do watch out for the horses and milk floats wizzing round the resort.
You will find quiet a few high priced clothes stores here, lots of yummy cafes and every other shop sells ski hire (my favourite being glazier sport).
As you can imagin life revolves around the mountains and why not their preety good to look at and even better to look down from but Zermatt does not come cheap and although you can learn to ski here people dont find it easy and if you do go for the yellow coats not the red locals.
Looking for a hotel my favourits were the Buterfly, Schweiserhof and the Alpenhof.
The best...

tom tom one europe
Advantages: ease of use
Disadvantages: none
...your closest petrol station, hotel, shopping centre etc. etc.
8) I guarantee it will save you time on the road.
9) It gives you an estimated arrival time.
10) You can enter an address or a post code as a destination.
11) If you have blue tooth you can link your phone to it
12) You can subscribe to additional features such as speed cameras etc. i cannot comment on these as I haven't bothered. the basics are more than enough for me.
13) I just have UK mapping, but you can purchase additional maps from around the world to load into it - these are not cheap though.
14) I heard on the radio this morning that it has £30 off in the high street stores for Easter - there is no better time to buy!
What are the down sides
There are not many but there are some.
1) People nick them - seriously - all the time. I remove mine from...

Perfect Parisian Place to Stay
Advantages: Clean, Friendly staff, Great Location
Disadvantages: A Little Noisy, No Money Exchange
...After we had booked all of our holidays for this year we realised that Jay had a day off work left over, so we thought that instead of him taking it off and doing nothing with it, we would spend a weekend in Paris.
Trawling around the various websites, we came across the Europe Hotel, which was reasonably priced and seemed to be of a good standard judging by other reviews. It was also stated as being a five minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. So we booked it for two nights from the 14th October.
When we arrived in Paris, we had to make our own way to the hotel, and after a bit of confusion, we finally made it to the hotel.
Location
=
The Europe Hotel is situated on the Boulevard de Grenelle, right next to the La Motte Picquet Grenelle Metro Station. It is around a 600 meter walk from the Eiffel Tower and being...

The Birds of Europe - Lars Jonson
Advantages: Fantastic Drawings, Very Detailed Information On Every Species
Disadvantages: Quite Expensive
...I have had an interest in Wildlife for as long as I can remember and in particular I have always had a passion for Birds. My Garden is full of Bird feeding devices and I have spent many enjoyable hours at my window watching the Birds feeding there.
Any serious Birdwatcher will possess a Field Guide and over the years, since my early teens I have always used the Collin's Guide to the Birds of Britain and Europe. A couple of years ago I decided that it was time that I updated my reference guide for something a little bit more modern. The book I chose was the Birds of Europe by Lars Jonson.
Lars Jonson is a very well known name in the world of Ornithology. Born in Sweden Lars Jonson is best known as a Bird Artist and has won many prestigious awards. He had an exhibit at the National Museum of Natural History in Stockholm when he was...

The Strand Palace Hotel
Advantages: Central location, clean
Disadvantages: Food, rooms
...We stayed at this hotel in London a little over a month ago now for two nights, we chose this hotel mainly because of the central location and because it was only a ten minuite walk from the show we had booked to go too.
Check in was very quick - About ten minuites and the staff at the reception seemed very friendly.
My first thoughts on the hotel was that it looked really clean and that it was nicely decorated and it looked modern.
I was a little dissapointed with our room as it was very small and basic, our room had a double bed, tea and coffee making facilities, a tv with satellite and a small, basic en suite bathroom with a shower.
The views from our room very very poor - A block of offices which made our room dark as they were so close.
The hotel has two bars and two resturaunts, the bars were again nicely decorated...

Hotel International
Advantages: Location, breakfasts
Disadvantages: Poor rooms
...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights.
LOCATION:
The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal.
PRICE:
Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

Come and relax in this stunning location
Advantages: stunning location, large rooms
Disadvantages: located outside town centre - best accessed by car
...We stayed here as part of our honeymoon in September 2005. The hotel is located 5-10 minutes drive from Killarney town centre and has an absolutely stunning location. The hotel overlooks the lake with lovely views of the mountains (including Macgillycuddy Reeks) and gap of Dunloe. You can go for peaceful walks in the grounds and walk right down to the lake. There is a tea house in the grounds.
Bedrooms:
We were upgraded from a golf view room to a lake view room - these are definitely worth the extra money if you want to enjoy the view. The rooms were really large and had balconies. However the decor is not the most up to date - decorated in rather old fashioned orange and gold. The bathroom is also huge - with a bath on one side of the room and toilet and shower on the other and two huge sinks. Lots of nice extras like dressing...
