...I would imagine that everybody's heard of Hamelin, or to give it its more correct, German spelling, Hameln. At least, I should think everyone's familiar with the legend of The Pied Piper of Hameln.

A year in................Germany!
Advantages: Fantastic fun, great opportunity to broaden your horizons.
Disadvantages: Takes a while to adapt to a new country.
...found my gap year in Germany to be one of the best of my life. I was able to make lifelong friends and experience another culture with all of its strange ways and traditions. Of course it wasn't all fun; I missed the normality of Britain terribly at first and until my German improved found it difficult to communicate properly.
