Hotel Ibis Amsterdam Westcorner
Review of Ibis Hotel, Amsterdam by
FK123
Advantages: Location, Comfort
Disadvantages: Telephone charges, travel information, lack of some creature comforts, no breakfast included in room price
...We chose the Hotel Ibis Amsterdam Westcorner for a weekend trip to Amsterdam.
The Hotel Ibis Westcorner is located in Westpoort, to the north-west of the city centre. Because of this it probably isn't too popular with tourists who prefer central locations. However, it is very easy to get to - just take the train to Sloterdjik station, 6 minutes and one stop away from Amsterdam Centraal Station. Almost every train west from Amsterdam stops there, so you can get back late at night without any problems, and it's also relatively cheap, at under 2 Euros one-way. There is also a bus, but we didn't try it. Actually, we found the tyrain station by trial and error - when we asked the hotel staff how to get in to the centre, they didn't even mention it, and we had trouble navigating to it from the hotel, as Westpoort is a district of tall...

IBIS hotel - Swindon
Review of Ibis, Swindon by
nigeofnewbury
Advantages: Cheap, easy to find, friendly helpful staff
Disadvantages: Needs refurbishing
...My wife and I stayed at the IBIS hotel in West Swindon last weekend as we were going to a friends 40th birthday party that evening and neither us fancied the lengthy drive home in the early hours of the morning.
We booked in for 1 night, planning to arrive on Saturday afternoon and leave on Sunday morning.
We chose the IBIS because we wanted a budget hotel and because it was located very close to where the party was being held.
Also, we could book in anytime after mid-day and didn't have to vacate our room until mid-day either so we could have a lie-in after the party if we needed to.
~~ Booking ~~
As I had found this hotel using the web, it made sense to book the same way - this can be done from the IBIS website (www.ibishotels.com/ibis) quite easily and you receive...

A night at the Ibis
Review of Ibis Hotel Little Bourke Street, Melbourne by
Looby5
Advantages: Service was great
Disadvantages: Room a bit small
...This past weekend I was lucky enough to have tickets to the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix, held at Albert Park in Melbourne. We had booked a 7.30am flight from Sydney and we landed in Melbourne at 8.45am bleary eyed but exited. The hotel is about 25 minutes way by coach from Melbourne's main airport, Tullamarine, and we pulled in at Southern Cross bus station which was a short 5 minute stroll to the hotel. It was too early to expect to get into our room at the Ibis but we were hoping they'd keep our luggage safe for is so we could get off to the track. When we arrived we explained what our plan was for the day and the receptionist was very helpful and accommodating, giving us a couple of options for luggage storage and checking us in so that we would have no hassle when we returned that evening. We went off and had a great day...

IBIS Hotel
Review of Ibis London Euston, London by
purple_twix
Advantages: Good prices
Disadvantages: No, Sky TV ha! ha!
...In January I went to see Justin Timberlake in concert (again) this is my 3rd time. I and my Sister Lizzy (Hello love) didn’t want to travel home again after the exciting show so we decided to stay in a Hotel.
We went looking for a Hotel and found the Ibis Hotel. It was fairly close to Piccadilly station which was very convenient for us.
We went into the building and it all looked very nice. There was a bar and lots of tables and seating areas, and at the back of the entrance was the reception.
We booked a room for 2 with no problems. The room cost £46.00 for the night which we found very good as we were splitting the cost. £46.00 is the standard rate for weekends. For week days it is still only £48.00.
We paid the money in cash, you can also pay by credit or debit card. They then gave me a form to fill in. I had to write my...

Ibis Hotel Euston London
Review of Ibis London Euston, London by
keak123
Advantages: Very close to the station/underground
Disadvantages: none
...The Ibis Hotel
3 Cardington Street - NW1 2LW - LONDON - UNITED KINGDOM
Tel : (+44)207/3887777 Fax : (+44)207/3880001
I recently had the pleasure of staying in one of the IBIS hotels.
This one was a minute walk from Euston station, which is so convenient. Also close enough for the famous Bond Street and Oxford Street for some fantastic shopping.
This hotel has 380 climate controlled rooms, 8 accessible rooms a bar, which serves snacks 24 hours a day, a restaurant, which serves fantastic food.
On arriving at the Ibis, you are welcomed by a quite large lobby, which is clean and very bright and welcoming. The bar and restaurant are straight in front of you as you walk through the door, and the reception is to your right. There were 3 members of staff on so the queue was soon dealt with. The staff was very polite...

Its Bliss to stay at Ibis
Review of Ibis Hotel Plymouth, Plymouth by
phillipsl
Advantages: European Feel, and good valus for money
Disadvantages: Bath are too short, breakfast excluded
...but breakfast is not included in the price. Breakfast is £4.25 per person and is european style. Their breakfast is awesome, warm fresh baguettes, cheese, ham, eggs, fresh coffee. You get cereal, yoghurts, toast etc, but again it makes a change not to get a fry up.
You pay the bill on living and i believe checkout is 10am in the morning and check in is 4pm in the afternoon.
Overall the Ibis is very good hotel to stay in, we always stay here now and nowhere else. Everything has a fresh, clean feel and for once not feeling so english....

Hotel Ibis Montrouge
Review of Ibis Paris Porte d'Orleans, Montrouge by
fransdxxx
Advantages: Good location, clean, safe, friendly multi-lingual staff
Disadvantages: A bit basic, rooms were quite small.
.... There is a "Buffalo Grill" about 10 minutes walk too which is like a chain restaurant which specializes in meat dishes. The staff here are very friendly and the wine is cheap.
I cannot remember how much it cost to stay in this hotel. But you can find it on the Ibis website. I think that if you want to see Paris then staying in this hotel is fine if that's all you want to do.
Overall hotel rating 6/10...

Ibis hotel centre, The Hague, The Netherlands
Review of Ibis Den Haag Centre, The Hague by
sportsadvisor
Advantages: Centre of city, excellent location, bars, restaurants, sightseeing, transport
Disadvantages: Some small rooms, could be noisy near busy road
...I have lived in The Hague for about 2 years now. Dutch name 'Den Haag'. Recently I stayed a night in the Ibis hotel, checking it out for some friends who were going to stay there and visit for a week. The hotel is located in the centre of The Hague, near a busy road, lots of shops, restaurants and bars. Perfect for couples, families wanting to be close to the action. Ideal as a base for sightseeing, near old grote church, dutch parliament, ancient buiildings, galleries, tram and bus stops. You may want to request a room on other side of hotel away from road if you are a light sleeper.
The hotel itself is quite modern with a large open plan bar and reception area on the ground floor. Comfortable leather seats and sofas. Lifts and stairs then go up to the restaurant and rooms. The eating area on 1st floor. I had breakfast which...

IBIS - that's French for "We have no hairdryer"
Review of Ibis Reading Centre, Reading by
koshkha
Advantages: If you need to be in the centre or Reading it's there
Disadvantages: You'll need patience and persistence to find it
...To set things in context before I even start to describe my experience at the Ibis in Reading, I think it's only fair to confess that I hate Ibis hotels. With a passion! I really did wonder what I'd done to offend our secretary and get booked in this one. I'm sure I didn't forget her birthday, raid the stationery cupboard or commit any other serious secretary-annoying offences. If there's one thing guaranteed to put a damper on my day it's that little four-letter word on a hotel booking confirmation. In my hotel-dictionary, the definition next to the word Ibis says 'nasty penny pinching crappy hotel'.
Location
My first challenge was finding the hotel. When I saw it was near the railway station I was suspicious that parking might be a problem so I rang ahead to check whether they had a car park and, as feared, the answer was no...

Best Budget Hotels in London
Review of Ibis London Euston, London by
sandrabarber
Advantages: Stylish, Clean, Excellent Staff
Disadvantages: None for me
...I'm a big fan of Ibis hotels and stay in them for both business and pleasure. I had, however, read a bad opinion of the London Euston branch, so when I found myself needing to stay in Euston the other night it was with slight trepidation that I booked the Ibis. I was hoping that my several excellent experiences of the Ibis chain would hold out against the one bad experience I'd read about.
LOCATION
The Ibis London Euston is in Cardington Street, literally at the side of Euston Station. Weary travelers can depart their train and be at their hotel in one minute.
Once in Cardington Street you can't miss the Ibis - it is a bright, stylish, continental looking building in an otherwise unprepossessing grey road.
Unlike many London hotels, the Ibis Euston has a car park at the rear, and if drivers follow signs to Euston Station...
