Paradise on Kos!

Advantages: Great Setting, Close to Airport, First Class Food, Very Clean, Wonderful!
Disadvantages: None that I can think of!

Hotel Zeus - Perfect

Advantages: Excellent location, Very welcoming!
Disadvantages: Bathrooms a little cramped but this is common place in Greek hotels

...We visited Kefalos for the first time in June, and have just booked to return. We stayed at the Zeus and will be doing so again in October. ROOMS The rooms are spotlessly clean with a large balcony or terrace (we had a terrace). On the website it does mention that some rooms are "semi-basement" we had one of these and it just meant that the wall of our terrace was only slightly higher than ground level. But it was a lovely sun trap in the afternoon. Bathrooms aren't huge, which is to be expected, but they are perfectly adequate. Beds very perfectly fine, not the luxury you would expect from a more pricey hotel but perfectly adequate. You can always ask for an exrtra pillow if one is not enough. Sophia Beach Hotel/Apartments - Kos town

Advantages: within 1.5 km of Kos Town, quiet, plenty of sunbeds as a lack of guests.
Disadvantages: rude staff, dirty/filthy rooms, poor A/C, poor plumbing

...Was in this hotel in August 2007. From the word go we were disappointed. On arrival at 3 am the temperature in the room was about 30 degrees. After a week there it broke down completely, taking 2 days of constant complaining before they would call out an engineer. After he left it still was rubbish. The fridge door was rusty, all the shelves were broken, and the freezer section resembled Siberia, with ice of over 3" thick. Maid service was poor, floor was swept about 8 days out of 14, no floors were washed, the bathroom was never cleaned, had black fungus on the walls, and ceiling. Shower was also black, and the dirt on the shower hose about 10 mm thick. It was so bad my 8 year old refused to use it. Beds were comfy enough, although sheets were often ripped, and only changed once a week, despite notice promising every 3 days...

It wasn't a bad hotel

Advantages: Close to airport,right on the beach
Disadvantages: not exactly 5* and the food was a big the same every night

...I was booking a holiday for myself and 3 three friends for the end of our A levels. I searched on every website imaginable when finally I came across a week in Kos at the Achilleas Beach Hotel. It was £250 per person All Inclusive. Of course my friends were all very excited about going to a 3* All Inclusive hotel. So I booked it. On the website it said that it was a group of bungalows set in idillic gardens. Sounded very nice. Upon arrival to Kos we found a taxi straight away and it took the 4 of us to our hotel. It was about a 15minute ride and cost about 16 Euros, which was a lot cheaper than the coach return we were offered by the tour operator for 15 Euros a head. Kos! The place to be

...This review is only information I have from my recent holiday in Greece, Kos. Returning back from Kos, a few weeks ago was heartbreaking! I only wish now, that I had never come home. I stayed in the Imperial hotel in Kos town for 2 weeks with Thomas Cook. Only 2 minute walk from all the restaurants and bars! I shall start by telling you about my thoughts on the Imperial Hotel. Arriving at the hotel, my friend and I thought we could not have come to a worse place. It was 3 o'clock in the morning and the way we had been taken by the transfer coach, it looked as though we were in the middle of nowhere! However, the hotel looked lovely! Cooling Breeze is Bliss in Kos heat

Advantages: breeze keeps you cool, you don't notice the intense heat
Disadvantages: watch you don't burn, the wind is deceptive: use you sun cream more often. IT IS HOT in KOS

...Did I say breeze? Do you know, I didn?t realize how strong the wind would be ? you know, the wind that blows throughout the summer months amongst the islands of the Dodecanese. As I write, I am sat out on the balcony of my apartment on the island of Kos. We have just berthed in the harbor at Kardamena and, today the wind is blowing fierce and strong. Unbelievably, fierce as the wind is, it caresses the skin like velvet ? despite its power! The sky is an intense baby blue, without so much as a hint of a cloud and the temperature is building as the morning progresses. Yesterday was an intense 32o C ? and I have great hopes that the temperatures today will match that with ease. Yesterday we were moored off a beach near San Antonio. YAMMAS!!

Advantages: Clean,Friendly,great hotel bar!
Disadvantages: Stupid banging Fire Doors!!!!

We also had a travel iron and a hairdryer,which were both fairly new.Also two little tablets of soap in the bathroom.We did have an air con unit on the wall.However the hotel charged 5 Euros a day to use it.So we just chose to sweat really. All in all I was impressed with the room.The beds were made with clean,white,crisp sheets.Believe me,I smelt them! You then had your top like,thin sheet thing,which had flowers on it,blue ones. The linen was changed every three days,the bed was made every day,and the room was cleaned around 10am every day.I must admit to flushing the toilet paper though...as no signs told me otherwise.So if the island of Kos now has a sewage problem..it may be down to me flushing vast amounts of toilet paper. Kos - an island of two halves!!

Advantages: Some lively parts & some very quiet parts!Rent a quadbike!
Disadvantages: Packed in Summer,do not book with Manos!

It seemed on paper to be the perfect mix - an island which had some unspoilt and beautiful parts, with a busy centre bursting with nightlife and daytime activities. After some extensive looking we chose a holiday with MyTravel, through the ever-useless Lastminute.com. The holiday in total came to £200 each, including flights, transfers, accomodation and insurance. A bargain!
