Reviews of hotel london
Good discounts at hotels in London
Review of london-discount-hotel.com by
starmaven
Advantages: Good special offers, easy to book hotels
Disadvantages: More hotel details needed
...It was very easy to book a luxury hotel in London on this site.
They have more than 100 hotels that you can view and book online ranging from Best Western, Comfort Inn, Hilton, Express by Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn and also many independently owned budget hotels. They offer accommodation in Central London ranging from low-cost privately owned guest houses to five star global chains.
Most are located close to major London attractions like the Covent Garden theatres, Madame Tussauds, Tower of London and are perfectly situated near Oxford Street, Harrods, Knightsbridge and Kensington for shopping.
The rates are much below published rack rates and include local taxes, service and breakfast.
We needed two rooms next to each other and the kind people at London Discount Hotel.com were really friendly and helpful. They contacted the hotel...

Thistle Hyde Park, London
Review of Thistle Hyde Park, London by
karolyn_kate123
Advantages: Outstanding Views, best hotel in London i've stayed at
Disadvantages: couldn't fault it
...I stayed at this Hotel last year, and have been to London 4 times since. Ive stayed in over 10 hotels in the capital and can honestly say this has been my favourite hotel.
The views over Hyde Park were gorgeous and gave a lovely view of the london eye, and the flight path. The rooms were a good size and layed out well. It wasn't unclean at all.
The staff were extremely helpful and went out their way to help you. The breakfast was gorgeous and provided a great choice.
The hotel was close to the local tube station, and close to notting hill and shops. It was central to oxford street and all that London has to offer, without been slap bang in the middle.
Only downfall i suppose ( the only one) was that it was upstairs to a petrol station yet it wasnt a problem for me.
I would recommend this hotel 100% and enjoyed my stay....

The Place to Stay
Review of Hilton London Docklands, London by
ryankett
Advantages: Lovely, Clean Spacious Rooms, some with a fantastic view of canary wharf
Disadvantages: The evening meal was poor
...I had never heard of the Hilton London Docklands before I had booked, but ended up having two fantastic days in late February this year.
The Hilton London Docklands is built directly opposite Canary Wharf on the other side of the Thames, an area of massive redevelopment. Out of London this area has still got a reputation of being rough, but in reality in now consists of expensive townhouses and Luxury apartments. The hotel itself has well over 800 rooms and is split into three wings.
Me and my partner had booked a double room, but discovered that it looked more like a large studio flat, considering the price of property in London these days, I was rather pleasantly surprised. There was also a settee and table and chairs and cable TV. The bathroom was gorgeous and the whole place was extremely clean and well keep.
The reception...

Whirlwind tour of London
Review of London (England) by
gemma1234
Advantages: Lots to see and do, good atmosphere, exciting and cosmopolitan
Disadvantages: A bit too crowded and far too much traffic !
...We went on a school trip it was a budget break but was subsidised. The main purpose of the trip was to see the Millenium dome. The dome itself was very boring and not worth the entry fee! The rest of London was great though.
The best thing about London was that was so much to do and everything was so cosmopoltian and there are so many very different attractions so close together.
The only downside about our trip was that the transport was very crowded and slow moving. The traffic was very slow moving and the bus was so crowded I had never seen anything like it in my life! The bus was so packed people were unable to get on or off at the stops! Eventually we asked someone which bus to get, she was very friendly and helpful as were most of the people we met in London.
If you want to visit London it is a very interesting experience...

A week at the Mercure...
Review of Mercure London City Bankside, London by
DuckJen
Advantages: Reasonably priced!
Disadvantages: Rooms basic.
...I stayed at the Mercure in December 2005. It was a bit of last minute booking - booked it on the Friday and then travelled on the Monday. Due to this it was the literally the only place in central London available for the week and prior to this I had never even heard of the hotel!
Location - It is literally just behind the Tate Modern and Millenium Bridge. It is about 10mins walk from the hotel to the nearest tube at London Bridge so it is relatively easy to get about.
Rooms - Rooms are basic. Similar to staying in an Ibis or Travellodge. They do have everything you need though - TV, tea and coffee facilities etc. And they seemed clean.
Facilities - The hotel has a small gym. In has a restaurant and bar but I never ate or drink so can't comment on this. Staff all seemed relatively friendly.
Price - It was between £60 - £70...

Not value for money
Review of Tudor Court, London by
sailormn
Advantages: Reasonable service and ideal location
Disadvantages: Could be cheaper in price
...Tudor Court Hotel in London is a budget, 2-star hotel which provides accommodation and breakfast. My friends and I spent 3 nights there in a three-bed room. It costs us abt 80 quid per night which is abt 27quid per person per night. Generally, the hotel service is reasonable, but I find the hotel room too small and the bathroom is commonly shared with others for that price. On-suite bathroom would cost more. It is a hotel run by Asians, I believe from India. Well, the price is competitive for a 2-star hotel in London, especially when it is situated in central London, very near to a tube station which I can't remember which one. Generally, accommodation in London is very expensive.
Overall, a reasonable hotel but could be more cheaper in price....

Novotel Euston, London
Review of Novotel London Euston, London by
GILLB1
Advantages: Extremely helpful staff, very high standard
Disadvantages: None
...I had decided to treat my mother to a weekend break in London and upon researching various hotels on the internet chose the Novotel Euston (formerly Bernard Shaw Plaza).
The cost was £79 for a twin en-suite including full english breakfast for two which I thought was very reasonable.
Upon arrival we were very impressed with the exterior and interior of the hotel, the staff were extremely helpful and courteous.
The hotel has a panoramic lift which if you take up the the sixteen floor has wonderful views of London, including the London Eye and Canary Wharf .
The room itself was spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
We ordered room service for Saturday supper which was brought up promptly, average cost of a meal was £13 and the food was superb. Menu offers a good choice on British and International cusine...

OK, but be prepared to pay up front.
Review of Novotel London Greenwich, London by
crware
Advantages: Modern, clean, quiet - good location.
Disadvantages: Car parking not free, pay up front.
...This is a new hotel, pleasantly decorated in a modern style, situated adjacent to Greenwich main line station and Docklands Light Railway station. It is within a few minutes walk from Greenwich centre with easy access to shops and restaurants. It has its own underground car park.
The rooms are clean and surprisingly quiet - I was not aware of the trains running by and was able to sleep undisturbed.
Breakfast is of the help-yourself kind so you can eat as much as you want to get your day under way. There is also plenty of choice including many healthy options as well as the tradition fried breakfast. The staff are keen and helpful, but occasionally a little over-zealous in their pursuit of formality.
Things to be aware of: most London hotels charge residents for parking and this hotel is no exception, charging £10 per night (which...

MY FAVOURITE CITY
Review of London in general by
Rincon
Advantages: A brilliant city that has everything
Disadvantages: Expensive
..., Thai and so on. I’m sure you all get the picture.
Shopping & Fashion:
*******************
London will spoil you in this department, there are lots of shopping areas scattered all over London, which offers everything you, can possibly want. Central London has hundreds of fashion department stores and smaller designer outlets. Selfridges, Harrods, Debenhams, John Lewis and many more.
Parks:
******
Regents Park is my favourite park in London, this park is complete in everyway, you have London Zoo on the premises, lakes, restaurants, acres of playing field, and beautiful wildlife. Regents is not the only park in London – Hyde park, St James Park, Holland Park, all acres of playing field and pleasure to take walks in.
Accommodation:
**************
Superb hotels and hostels to choose from – ranging from 2 star to five star. Although...

Premier Travel Inn, London Docklands
Review of Premier Travel Inn London - Docklands (ExCel),, London by
hackerjack
Advantages: Good rooms and service
Disadvantages: Quite remote
...This is a step above most of the premier travell inns I have stayed at previously.
The reception staff were friendly and helpful, dealing easily with around 20 of us arriving at once in less than half an hour.
The rooms are fairly standar from PTIs, which on the whole is good all round. The bathrooms are especially nice with large baths (useful for us of the larger persuation) and everything laid out nicely.
The cafe/resteraunt/bar area is nice and comfortable, definately better than most of them. the availability of a pool table and awell stoked bar was a nice addition over most hotels of this type.
Breakfast was well stocked and of high quality all round.
The hotel itself is quite remote to look at, but is within a few minutes walk of the Excel centre (which dominates the skyline), a very nice chinese resteraunt and two London...
