Casa del Balam Hotel, Merida
Advantages: A unique and quaint hotel...
Disadvantages: Lacking a few mod-cons...
...We stayed in this hotel for a few days while on a little tour of the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico, including visits to Cancun (don't bother), Playa del Carmen & Cozumel (much better) and the amazing ancient Mayan ruins at Uxmal, Chitzen Itza and Tulum. (I'll try and get round to reviewing all these later...)
We arrived by taxi from Merida airport (a short journey), having flown in from Cancun...

Elysees Opera/America Opera Hotel - Paris, France.
Advantages: Location, Room Size
Disadvantages: Facilities offered were minimal.
...I stayed in this hotel in August 2007 and the following is my view and opinion.
I would also like to state that on Ciao, this hotel is listed as a 1 star hotel, whereas in fact the Elysees Opera is a 3 star hotel. The hotel is named America Opera and Elysees Opera, i stayed in the Elysees Opera. I'm not sure as to why there are 2 names?
Location
The road of Rue de Turin was very easy...

AMERICA DIAMONDS HOTEL A TRUE LITTLE DIAMOND
Advantages: Good for Airport Bus, also a great deal on price.
Disadvantages: None
...We had decided on a Week End break to Lisbon, so trawled thru the Hotels on the Comparison Sites.
There were many in the old town area, but usually something not right in the Reviews, either Shared bathrooms, Poor Breakfasts Etc Etc.
Then I came across America Diamonds. All reviews happy with breakfast service etc.
So booked Three Nights Bed/Breakfast for two rooms, Rob/Roz going...
