...This hotel is in a perfect location for those looking to go on holiday to Marbella. Backing onto the beach, with sunloungers and parasols provided for free, you can get superb views from your room. We had a side-side view room which gave amazing views looking down the coastline from the balcony. It was larger in size than we were expecting and the bathroom had that wow-factor. No worries about sleeping in the hot nights as the rooms are air conditioned and fully controllable. A nice feature is that when you open the doors onto the balcony, the air con automatically switches off to save energy. The first thing you notice about this hotel is how clean and roomy it is. The room maids did a fantastic job of cleaning the room every day and always gave a friendly smile and "hola!" in the corridors. Security is good, with electronic cards...

Hotel Mirmar, Fawlty Towers with lower standards

...The miramar was such a dissapointment, dirty, over priced and with rude obnoxious staff. We checked in with surly reception staff, went to our room exhausted, and then spent half the night having to complain about the state of the room, and the incredible amounts of noise coming from the wedding reception immediately below us. The duty manager was rude, and unhelpful, he offered to clean our bathroom, however it was no cleaner afterwards, with mildew, mould, and grime on the shower and bath. There was enamel chipped from the bath, and very basic toilet roll. the noise from the party was overwhelming, with the cups on the amenity stand shaking (incedentally these were rinsed by the maid under the sink in our friends room rather than washed or cleaned. disgusting) the fabric of the room was shabby, stained and torn...

...All prices quoted are correct for 2004 high season. St. Brelade?s Bay in Jersey is renowned as one of the best beaches on the island and so we were keen to stay in this area when booking this years holiday. The Hotel Miramar caught my eye in the brochure for 2 main reasons; it was classed as a family friendly hotel and was competitively priced for the location. It is located ina quiet position off the main tourist strip in Limassol so you are never far from nightlife if you want it. There are some really good facilities within the hotel and grounds, tennis court, water sports, spa, gym, sauna, childrens facilities such as a regular acitvity programme and childrens meals, playroom and babysitting service. ...We stayed at this hotel in London a little over a month ago now for two nights, we chose this hotel mainly because of the central location and because it was only a ten minuite walk from the show we had booked to go too. Check in was very quick - About ten minuites and the staff at the reception seemed very friendly. My first thoughts on the hotel was that it looked really clean and that it was nicely decorated and it looked modern. I was a little dissapointed with our room as it was very small and basic, our room had a double bed, tea and coffee making facilities, a tv with satellite and a small, basic en suite bathroom with a shower. The views from our room very very poor - A block of offices which made our room dark as they were so close. The hotel has two bars and two resturaunts, the bars were again nicely decorated...

...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights. LOCATION: The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal. PRICE: Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

I chose it because I was on a stopover and got a cheap deal. As I have seen the sights of Sing before, thought it would be nice to visit Malaysia for the day. Singapore is renowned for it's cleanliness, but this has obviously passed The Miramar by, because my room was musty smelling and incredibly dusty, I think there was a year's worth of sweepings under the bed. Otherwise it contained the necessary, with double beds, TV, and non-sparkling clean bathroom. Facilities include a pool. However, this is a trek down a dingy corridor with dangling wires, where you eventually pop out into the health club reception.
