...The Voranova hotel was about half an hour from the airport and cost about 25euros, split between two, so wasn't too bad as the hotel transfer coach you could also book cost as much together and took about 2 hours stopping at every hotel that existed! The hotel was in a good location, a few minutes walking distance from Palma Nova town centre and the beach. It was also about 10-15minutes walk to the centre of Magaluf. We got a bus to Palma City one day and this took about 45 minutes and was very crowded. Just across the road from the hotel was a large supermarket and several shops including a pharmacy, there was also a taxi rank and bus stop. The hotel being in Palma Nova rather than Magaluf was good as it wasn't too noisy and busy at night. There were plenty of small bars and resturants in Palma Nova. The hotel also had...

PALMA NOVA PARADISE

Advantages: short flight from uk, fabulous island, heaps to do,gorgeous scenery, spotlessly clean
Disadvantages: can't think of any!

...We went to Palma Nova in September/October 2005 for 15 days and had the most fabulous holiday. This was the first time we'd been to Palma Nova so didn't know what to expect but we were more than happy with our choice of resorts. Our trip started at Glasgow Airport and we arrived in Palma 2 hours and 20 minutes later. We arrived at 7-30pm and after the long walk through the airport to collect our luggage, we got a taxi to our accommodation. This took around 40 minutes and cost us 34 euros (we later, on our return taxi to airport realised that we'd been taken the long route as the return journey took around 30 mins and cost us 22 euros!). Our accommodation was rented privately through a friend who owns an appartment so we were able to save on accommodation costs. We used the bus service a lot. Regular buses go all over the island...

Love palma nova

...I've been to palma nova several times and i love it. If you looking for a nice quiet holiday this is the place, theres things to do though as well, plenty of shops, and nice bars, usually with some sort of music every night, if you want abit of nightlife, maguluf is just down the road if you want some clubbing? personally i didn't like maguluf because the people who work at the bars are stood outside mithering you to come in. There is one trip i'd recommened, its a one day trip to 3 different place, the first was a market, which was quite good if you like getting a bargain etc, then the was a ceramics shop, and then a town before the caves of darch, which is nice, you walk down lots of stairs, then you sit in a room, where there is a romantic show on water, and los of lights going off....

Palma Nova

Advantages: Lovely beach and prom and ideal for children
Disadvantages: Not many shops

...I have recently come back from a week in the resort of Palma Nova on the south of the island. Palma Nova has recently had a fantastic new promenade built, it's really attractive and in local stone. They have been careful to keep the existing palm trees in place and there are plenty of cafes and seats along the way. It runs from one end of Palma Nova to the beginning of Magaluf right along the bay. The resort is a good place for anyone elderly or if you have young children as it's quite flat and easy to walk round. There are plenty of hotels and restaurants and the whole place is clean and fairly fresh. I was disappointed that there weren't more shops as most of them sold the same sort of goods and were full of slightly downmarket souvenirs, but there was an excellent shop which sold lace in all forms (tablecloths etc...

Hotel Armadams, Palma de Mallorca

Advantages: Well presented, friendly, welcoming, modern

...We visted the Hotel Armadams for our honeymoon back in October 2006 for a short break to take in the sights and sounds of Palma. It is situated one "block" away from the main promenade in Palma, a road lined on one side with bars, hotels, shops and the marina and harbour area on the other. I am not a great Spanish speaker, infact I know only the most basic of phrases to muddle through, but the staff were very understanding and very helpful, even though we weren't checking in until really late following a delayed flight. The room was exceptional. Clean crisp tiled floors beautufully airy which really made a good first impression. We had a view looking out at the flats opposite, but a sneaky view between the buildings to the goregous marina opposite. Features of the room were also impressive, with a mini bar, television...

Our stay in Palma Nova

Advantages: Clean beach, plenty of bars.
Disadvantages: Lack of local food.

...We have just returned from Palma Nova and had a good time. The resort has a wealth of bars and restaurants so there's plenty of choice. There was a mix of ages although the top end, towards Magaluf seemed to cater mainly for the younger 18-30 groups, with bars that stayed open until 6am. As a pair of 40 something lightweights, however, we were happy to stay at the quieter end!!!!! The prices are reasonable and most bars seemed to have a happy hour where cocktails and some beer were cheap. They also had live entertainment. A particularly good one, although a bit more expensive, was the Stadium, which had karaoke until about 1130pm then would have a tribute band on. We saw Queendom and they were much better than we expected. The only downside for us was that it catered for English food but we like to eat local cuisine when abroad...

Hotel Palma Real, varadero, Cuba

Advantages: All round good pick for those wanting Caribbean on a budget. Great beach!
Disadvantages: Probably not quite up to 5* standards like some other hotels, but we didn't mind!

...I stayed at Hotel Palma Real, Varadero, Cuba in September 2005 with a friend. We both had a fantastic holiday. I would rate this as a 3/4 star hotel, as it is typically at the lower end of the pricing for holidays to Varadero. However, don't let this put you off this merely makes it even more value for money! Location# The hotel is situated approximately 150 metres from the beach. Literally cross the road and you are there. Facilities on the beach include sunloungers, parasols, snack bar serving food and drinks, watersports, dance classes. The beach itself is beautiful and is around 20 miles long so you can walk as far as you like. We didn't find a problem with the beach being across the road, if anything it made us explore a little more than if we had been staying at hotel that was on the beach itself. Hotel Facilities...

Review of Hotel Palma Real

A great hotel for those on a budget

Advantages: Quality Budget Accomodation, Air Conditioning, Close to beach
Disadvantages: Basic rooms, food can be the same each night

...I am of the belief that most people who go on holiday to Majorca, are looking for a cheap/budget summer holiday. So the cheaper the accomodation the better, the Don Bigote hotel definately falls into the category. The surprising point is that what you get for your money is worth EVERY euro. The hotel is situated about 100 metres back from one of the main beaches in Palma Nova. It is placed well back from the pubs/clubs so noise levels are not a problem at night-time. The rooms are very basically laid out but all of them have Air conditioning, a godsend in the heat of summer, we booked a twin room, which comes with 2 beds, cupboard, dresser, bathroom with bath with shower over, bidet, toilet & sink. Each room also has its own balcony, if you're lucky you'll get one overlooking the pool, which gives a bit of a nicer view...

Palma The Beautiful Med

Advantages: Nice beaches good and quiet for young and old, couples and familys.
Disadvantages: Pricey from july to start of december can be alittle too quiet for young couples.

...I went to Palma in august this year on my honeymoon. It was great i really enjoyed the holiday. It was my first time abroard and also my first flight. The flight was quite short so for all of those who are not keen on flying, this is a good choice. The flight took two hours when we arrived at palma airport(the airport is huge) you got outside and at two in the morning the heat was still there. We got a taxi transfer from the airport to our hotel which cost around 27 pounds each way and at that time in the morning, and given the fact Palma Nova is approxamatly 40 minutes from the airport this was the easiest way. our flight was through thomson but shop about to get the best deal. our transfer was connected with the hotel which was through Med Hotels. We arrived at the hotel which was the Residential Vora Nova it was bright modern...

Review of Palma Nova, Majorca

Is it a Hotel? yes! Is it the Can pastilla? No!

Advantages: Quiet
Disadvantages: Intermittent hot water, ants! Quiet! very small rooms.

...than I had taken with me and I left mine to be added to the library at the end of the week. The location is a huge advantage, 70 metres from a quiet, beautiful white sandy beach leading into warm clear waters that had very small waves, the sea here is safe for children as the beach shelves very little, in fact I had to wade out a long way to get deep enough to swim but it really was lovely. The area is flat and so wonderful for walking or cycling, you can hire bicycles, tandems or those things that four people ride around on locally, you can take a bus or taxi into Palma itself or you can hire a car and explore the beautiful island of Majorca, we have done all of those in the past so didn't this time. The taxi rank is just a few minutes walk away or the hotel staff on duty will phone for a taxi if asked. I don't recommend this though...
