Luxury from the Sofitel

...On a recent work trip to Paris I went to see a variety of hotels - in fact I saw quite a few of the same hotel chains including the Mercure, Novotel and Sofitel and from the Sofitel chain this was one of them; Sofitel Le Faubourg. The Hotel: The Sofitel Le Faubourg is a luxury hotel in the heart of the city centre. A four star hotel that has a variety of room types and an elegant style it has a range of amenities to suit every type of holiday maker. Sofitel Fiji: so good, you may never leave the hotel grounds

Advantages: Great location, wonderful facilities, very friendly staff, the swimming pool is bliss
Disadvantages: smallish room, slow service

...When traveling to Fiji a couple of years ago, I spent 5 days at the Sofitel there; a wonderful experience! Transportation The hotel arranged a shuttle from the airport, where I was greeted by musicians. This welcome with relaxing music ertainly set the tone for the rest of the stay. The trip from Nadi airport to the hotel took nearly 30 minutes, giving me the opportunity to enjoy the view. The traffic at Fuji is a breath of fresh air after the chaos that is Dutch rush hour: there was room to spare on the excellent roads! On a side note, the shuttle can be used to make a tour; It comes across a number of 5-star hotels and gives you a quick impression of what the island has to offer. Sofitel hotel in LA - for our honeymoon

Advantages: The most comfortbale bed in thw world!
Disadvantages: Phone calls cost!!

...For our honeymoon we went to several places in the US, we stayed in LA for 4 nights all at the Sofitel hotel. We also stayed at the famous - Waldorf Astoria in New York and the Sofitel hotel comes very close to the Waldorf in terms of our favourite. The location of the hotel is not the best, i.e it is not in the middle of all the action, however tl not be a hindrance if you rent a car, and I suggest very strongly that you should rent a car because it is almost impossible to get round LA without it. We only stayed in a standard room but it was huge!! The best bit about it was the bed. We were seriously jet-lagged for the first 2 days of the trip in LA so sleep was important, and I have to say that the best nights sleep of my life were in that bed. I can't explain it - it was so comfortable and very big, it must have been queen size...

We stayed in budget accommodation all around the world, some of it was good enough and the rest well thankfully we survived unscathed. However when we arrived in Sydney things changed. Excellent Hotel restored my faith in Egypt

Advantages: Staff were great

...Gardens is right next door and looks more estabilshed so if its cheaper stay there as you can use both hotels so save some cash. Highly recc trip to Hurghada Marina we got a minibus for 60epds (approx 8pds) return. Very classy and no hassle lovely to relax and watch the boats mooring we ate in the large Indian and food is 5*. Also booked snorkle trip to Paradise Island which was OK - heard one family paid £13 each and I had paid £30 booking online at home so maybe worth a trip to Hurghada to get £13 if family !! Fantastic Hotel Shame About Sharm And Booze!

...We stayed here for two weeks all-inclusive at christmas and new year 2006/2007, we being my wife and I, and we picked it as it had very good reviews on trip advisor and was very reasonably priced. Sharm El Sheikh Sharm is a man made resort on the red sea coast and is basically just one straight road in the desert, running parrallel with the coast, with the airport in the middle and then many hotels either side of it. The hotels themselves are more like mini resorts than just hotels, and are either on the sea side of the road with sea frontage or the desert side with none but access to a beach over the road. Tropicana Amarante Garden Palms Hotel, Sharm Egypt

Advantages: Great food, clean and friendly.
Disadvantages: No beach, lost sister Hotel Grand Oasis, the 5.30am sunbed securing

...Just returned from this hotel, very nice clean friendly hotel with a fantastic restaurant, but my only gripe is that the hotel is no longer part of the 'Tropicana' group and as such the deal is off as far as using the 'Tropicana Grand Oasis' facilities and beach! It's now owned by 'Amarante' This makes a huge crimp in your stay firstly as a beach user or snorkeller as Garden Palms has no beach and the bus service run by the hotel now takes you to a local public beach about 20 mins away, as you can imagine the beach is crammed full, so it is difficult to get shade when you need it and it's not particularly clean, second problem that arises from the 'no beach' situation is that if you want to sit around the pool a bed needs to be secured with your towel by 6am, this is made a problem by not enough beds for everyone and no-where else to...

Formal elegance

Advantages: Elegant, upmarket and nice rooms

...I have recently been to Paris as many people who read a lot of my reviews will know and another hotel that I saw whilst there was the Sofitel Arc De Triomphe. This hotel was another one of my favourites due to the nice standard although I did prefer the sister hotel Sofitel Le Faubourg out of the two. The hotel: As I am sure is obvious by now from my opening statement the hotel is part of the Sofitel chain. It is classed as a 4 star luxury hotel and is certainly fair to say it is. The hotel is more of a classic luxury type rather than modern luxury by the way it is designed and the style of the rooms. Taba Heights Sofitel REVIEW

Advantages: food, all includive, alot of activities
Disadvantages: tips, short day, food service

...seem to bargain these before you are awake. Walking along the beach you pass such hotels as the Marriot and Hyatt Regency which all look nice although not as luxurious as sofitel. When i went (oct/nov) the sun rises at about 5.30 and sets at 5.00. Meening to get the best of your holiday you have to get up early otherwise the day seems to escape you. It is also very good that it is all inclusive which includes meals, drinks and pizzas! If you do think of going you should take alot of spare change as EVERYONE WANTS TIPS and is part of the Egyptian culture. Everyone will expect to recieve a tip, even the cleaner and if they dont get one they will hassel you into it. They also give you the opportunity to go on daily trips at an extra expense but you do need to hand over your passport for all of these trips. Unfortunately i didnt go on any...
