I have been to torremolinos twice now though and a large part of the reasoning behind that is this wonderful hotel (Sol Principe). This hotel is situated alongside the beach of Playa mar approximately 2km outside the city of torremolinos. It is served by Malaga airport which is a little over 4 miles away and takes only a 15 minute transfer by coach to reach. On approach to this hotel the first thing that caught my eye was the size of the grounds it stood in but it soon became apparent why. This hotel is actually part of a complex which includes as well as the hotel itself the Apartments Sol Principito, a fairly large private car park, a sports area, gardens, a supermarket...

SUNSHINE ALL DAY (FOR ME) AT THE SOL LANZAROTE

Advantages: fantastically huge balcony, nice rooms, next to beach, friendly cleaning staff
Disadvantages: reception staff fairly unfriendly, luck of draw if you get a good balcony, choice of food

Sol Timor Hotel - Great Location and Great Value

Advantages: Location, Price, Staff
Disadvantages: Not the height of luxury

...I've been to this hotel countless times over the years, both with family and with my partner and would go back every time. The staff are great, the acommodation is great and the facilities are great. But the major selling point for me is the location - a stones throw away from the beach, a leisurely walk to the lively and picturesque Benalmadena Marina and a (sometimes slightly death-defying!) 15 minute journey from the airport. -Booking It- Originally, my parents took me and my sister here about ten years ago and they booked it through a package company, but with the vast number of low-cost airlines now regularly flying in to Malaga airport, it now makes more sense to book it independently. Good value clean hotel

Advantages: Great value, clean, great helpful staff.
Disadvantages: Rear facing rooms are small, food was adequate but not exciting.

Very occasionally the restaurant got very busy and a short wait was needed for a table - no great hardship. ...The hotel Sol Falco offers self catering, half board and full board. The service is excellent from all the staff and the facilities provided from this large complex are fantastic. The Sol Falco has its own in-house entertainment team which put on proffesional and entertaining shows nearly every night. Scuba Diving activities can be arranged on site, and plenty of space around its variety of pools. You walk into the reception with a fountain in the middle and it gives you a sense of relaxation when you arrive. The complex is very big but a security team patrol the whole site and the roads in and around the complex. As members of a vacation club ( it was then Sunterra now Diamon Resorts) we had the opportunity for a weeks break for relatively few points at the Sahara Sunset in Benalmadea Costa, as we could get Easy Jet airfairs to Malaga for a very low price we decided to try it. Great holiday at the Sol Trinidad

...We went on holiday to Majorca for 10 days in July and stayed at the Sol Trinidad hotel in Magaluf. We have been to Magaluf in the past and stayed at a Sol hotel which we really liked and so decided to give this one a go. We booked it off teletext and stayed half-board. The hotel has 375 rooms spread over 9 floors, we had a pool view room on the forth floor which was quite handy as the two (very small!) lifts were out of action a few times and I was grateful for only having to climb four flights of stairs.
